- Goldmine3: library of stories from top web3 founders
๐ My new side project is out!
Goldmine3 is a library of stories from top web3 founders.
You can learn how projects such as Zapper, Gnosis, or Zora built their MVPs, got their first users, and so on.
You can even ask questions about the covered projects - here's one about @jacob's Zora.

- 20%+ of the Right vs. Left debate can be boiled down to risk tolerance.
If you're a risk taker, you want to play games that let you win big (low taxes), even if the odds are bad (less support).
If you don't tolerate risk, you want games with better odds (more support), even if you end up winning much less (high taxes).

- Star Wars, MARVEL, and LoTR are protocols, and books/apps/movies are apps that interact with them. It can change how we design fiction worlds so that fans can co-create their favorite stories in a Nouns-like way.

"Focus that we had on user experience, on security, on privacy, all of those things really aligned well with the values that they had as a community. All of those things meant that it was an easy conversation."
@galligan.lens on talking with @stani.lens about @lensprotocol integration
- - What were the early days of @xmtplabs.lens?
- What web3 native features they developed?
- How they built a developer community around their protocol?
- How they started handling DMs on @lensprotocol?
this & much more in our Ep #44 conversation with @galligan.lens

- From my friend:
"Apple holding an annual conference (WWDC) is basically a forcing function for their teams to ensure that they will deliver new features and products every year."
Make sense to me.
- Today, I've finally finished "Atlas Shrugged." Without a doubt, it's the most boring and poorly written book I have ever completed. To add insult to injury, it's among the lengthiest as well.
Surprisingly, despite all its flaws, I'm still pretty glad I've read it.
- It's so silly that people on Twitter care so much about their Following/Followers ratio.
- Just recorded Web3 Talks Ep. 44 with @galligan.lens.
We spoke about the early days of @xmtplabs.lens, building a developer community, partnership with @lenster.lens, the future of decentralized messaging & much more.
The episode will be out next week, so if you don't want to miss it - subscribe using the links in the comments:
- - How was building on Ethereum in 2014? -
- How they built, grew & decentralized Safe?
- How Gnosis Chain became the #2 most decentralized chain, and why have you probably already used it without even noticing?
This & more in our conversation with Stefan George from Gnosis

- Hot take:
Just like itโs easier to write a program in Python than in C, itโs going to be easier to write a program in (GPT-X-powered) English than in Python.
Natural language software development will enable more people to write more and more complex software that will automate more things in our lives.
Finally Marc Andreessen's prophecy of software eating the world will be fulfilled
- All these Balaji's posts reminded me that I experienced hyperinflation. For the most part, I was a kid, but the year I was born (1990), Poland's inflation was 585,8% (!).
I remember how excited I got a few years later when my parent's friend visited us with a black suitcase full of cash, just like in American movies.
- Do you also sometimes feel that AI is going to be humanity's ultimate creation and the fact that you're not actively working on it puts your life on the sideways of history?

- If we agree with this A. N. Whiteheadโs quote:
โCivilization advances by extending the number of important operations which we can perform without thinking of them.โ
then AI will be a huge civilization advancement (unless it kills us all ofc).

- Some celebration:
Goerlinator - the app we built with @malteish at ETH Denver hackathon - was covered in Week in Ethereum News.
Thanks to that, we reached 12,000+ GoerliETH distributed to builders. We plan to add some new features and addresses eligible to claim soon!
PS: Malteish initiated this project and did most of the hardest work, so if you claimed your dose of GoerliETH, he's the one you should be grateful to ๐

And the productized models like ChatGPT are, I guess, months (years?) behind papers.

- Hey Lens fam,
Bolero is enrolled in the Smoothie Awards (web 3.0 product hunt) this week.
We've been pushing web 3.0 into the music industry for 2 years now. We're glad to submit our most advanced product to the Awards, after months of iteration and experimentations alongside artists and producers.
On our path towards unlocking an everlasting freedom of choice for creators, we believe the experience of creating your own record label and vouching for your favourite artists and undiscovered gems levels up the web 3.0 x Music space.
It would mean a lot if you could upvote and comment the project's page! https://smoothie.so/project/kgy5jre0

- Why do so many people think art NFTs are bad?
1) It's easier to create JPEG art than a physical art. So the supply is bigger.
2) You can see more art on OpenSea in 20 minutes than in a gallery for 2 hours. So easier to spot bad pieces.
3) There's less curation than in physical galleries as space is almost unlimited.
It's a similar thing that happened with music in the last 20 years. It is much easier to produce songs now, so the supply had gone 14X since 2000 when music was curated by record labels' gatekeepers.
Since art is governed by a power law, I'm okay with the internet getting flooded with shitty art if we end up with a few more masterpieces.

- Boomers like me think that Metaverse is far away because it seems fake.
But arenโt full make-up photoshoots, Instagram & Snapchat filters, and Bitmojies fake as well?
And theyโre used by hundreds of millions of people. Metaverse avatars seem just another step in that direction.
