"ELIZA Effect" is a collection featuring work by @lens/arvidabystrom , @lens/conniebakshi , @lens/crosslucid and @lens/isthisanart , inspired by the tendency to attribute human-like thoughts to AI. It's named after ELIZA, a chatbot created in 1966 by MIT's Joseph Weizenbaum, the first program capable of engaging in plausible conversations with humans.
Using a script called 'DOCTOR,' ELIZA mimicked interactions with a psychotherapist.
This approach, based on Rogerian (person-centered) therapy, was compelling because it allowed the program to maintain a conversation by asking questions that didn't require deep contextual knowledge or an understanding of complex emotions like love and loneliness.
Now, four invited artists fantasize about switching roles with machines! hat is the difference between strangeness and familiarity when it comes to AI's physical presence?

This is an image related to my longer term engagement with nsfw AI images, Untitled, where I removed the image-safety-checks from stable diffusion 1.5 and fine tuned it to create images of myself - a process that may sound difficult but amounts to removing only a few lines of code, running a stock fine tuning script, and providing about 10 selfies. Quote is from Walter Benjamin's The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction 😘

- ‘Bone of My Bones’
In a future past humanity, the machine searches its memory for its own beginnings.
