- Bootleg Sugar Lips
This string quartet was commissioned by choreographer Kathleen Dyer. In the beginning of our collaboration, and before I composed a note, Kathleen set new choreography to John Adams' string septet Shaker Loops. My task was to create new music with a similar energy.
Jokingly, I entitled the first sketches Bootleg Shaker Loops. Through a misunderstanding by the dancers, the name morphed into Bootleg Sugar Lips and the absurdity of it was catchy enough for a permanent title!

The recording studio was almost impossible to find. It was tucked away in an unassuming warehouse in a Hasidic enclave of Bed-Stuy. I had to enter through the loading dock, pass various metal crafting and art studios, until I got to a little unmarked room.
I chose this studio specifically for its felted piano. I’d heard it on some recordings and loved the tone. This recording captures the atmosphere of the space, almost as though you’re right in the room with me.

- Releasing music natively on @lens/lens allows collectors to take the music to real-world outlets (RWOs? maybe) and license it because the terms are set in the collect.
Thank you @lens/stani for collecting and recognizing the experiment. Open actions could bring more complex commercial rights for artists and collectors.
Our imagination is the only limit.
- I got this position from a bionenergetic book that I found dusty in a library, Lowen the author says that in this position a harmony is created in the body, he realized that schizophrenic patients had a kind of split between the lower and upper part of his body,
The point is that this simple position when you keep it for a while and your legs start to hurt is as if the energy that you had stagnant in certain areas began to be distributed throughout the body and begins to raise your temperature, at the end of it you will feel energized and with a sense of joy, try it,
a very curious fact is that Lowen discovered that the Taoists practiced a similar position when they saw an image in an ancient book, for them it was a way to connect with the divinity, curious isn't it?

- Some Breaking
This string quartet dives into a soaring melody without any introduction. There are different patterns bubbling under the surface of the first violin line that add a contrasting texture.
At 2:16 all of the instruments play pizzicato (plucked strings) to create a delicate percussive section.
I composed Some Breaking for KDNY Dance. It's one of my favorite (and longest) quartets!

*An Ocean* is my genesis blockchain project, minted in March 2021. 🌊
A three-song EP with unlockable content (hi res files), including composite photography with motion and 3D particle effects.
It was a limited run with a small group of collectors, and such a great learning experience on music-making, art and NFTs.
Enjoy this snippet from the title track of the EP. Full length pieces are on OpenSea.

- Has anyone experimented here with commissions instead of collects?
I think it would be fun if we could also allow for collectors to commission new work.
- going through my work from last year - there are so many pieces i never minted. i don't know why, but sometimes a bit of time helps you see clearly what work you feel proud of, and what you don't.
this is called "all the world's a stage" - and the title text is hidden somewhere in the artwork :-)
the meaning behind it is this: you are an artist, and your life is the artwork. be messy, be human, sing in the shower, cry in the bar bathroom, hug your friends, dance around your living room, feel all the emotions you can, and feel them fully. let yourself make mistakes, let yourself be joyful, forgive yourself.
you are alive and you are human, and you are the main character of your story.

- 📍**Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬
**
I wish there was at least a little sun in Bishkek, to see if it's truly the grayest city I've ever been to or if it's just the weather.
The capital of Kyrgyzstan is one of the strangest capitals, with almost no tourist offerings. Still, I'm glad I saw it because that might give it a special charm and definitely sets it apart from others.
Bishkek is home to just over a million people and feels like it's stuck in another time. A few newer buildings hardly stand out against the prevalent Soviet architecture, so I can freely say it reminds me of parts of Belgrade, even my hometown of Subotica. The building in the last photo is identical to the one I lived in during my first few years in Serbia.
The main square is called Ala-Too, which translates from Kyrgyz as "huge mountains," symbolically fitting as the city is surrounded by mountains towering several thousand meters high, clearly visible on clear days (check out the previous video).
Another important square is Victory Square, where the eternal flame burns, erected in honor of those who fell during World War II. Over 150,000 Kyrgyzstanis died during that time, which was every third man, and our guide (a journalist friend we met during our trip through Kazakhstan) told us that without that loss, there would be at least a few million more Kyrgyzstanis today. The central figure of the square, next to the flame, is a mother. A mother waiting for her sons, also a wife waiting for her husband, a sister waiting for her brother, but she never greets him...
That's all about Bishkek for now. If by any chance you find yourself in this city, a few hours is quite enough for a visit. And if anyone has been, share your impressions. 🇰🇬🔥🖤

- Meant To Be (live mini edit)
Meant To Be is about growing as a person and how moments in your life can be so overwhelming at the time you can’t make sense of them but as you grow older you come to terms with how they contributed to making you who you are. They can make you more resilient, more compassionate and better equipped at how to deal with them in the future… and you understand it was meant to be that way.
It's a record that for me captures so much of what I love about UK dance music. I've always been obsessed with sampling and hip hop and consequently the music that influenced me the most draws from the same places, whether that's Portishead, Tricky, Jamie XX, Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Moby, Caribou.. it's this soulful imperfection that gives them their own sound as they absorb the music around them and turn it into their own thing. It’s always something I try to keep in mind when I'm making my music. We are in a time where the sound of music is getting more and more homogenized and although my music isn't always perfect that's a decision I make, I feel like it makes more sense to be me, than imitate whatever trend is happening right now.

Another self-portrait that was shot in Chattanooga, TN. I found a mirror sitting behind an old building and decided it was the perfect opportunity to take a picture.

- Oh my goodness thank you @lens/princetiwari!! 🙏✨
- Perspectives is a string quartet that I wrote for choreographer Kathleen Dyer of KDNY Dance. It premiered at New York Live Arts.
Perspectives begins sparsely with a pizzicato line in the cello and a questioning motif in the violins. The momentum gradually builds until all four players join in on a syncopated sixteenth note theme.

Does your city do anything special?

- Welcome to the My Lens Journey series!
Next up in our series, we're sharing @lens/cristinaspinei's journey in the Lens garden **🌿**
Check out her story below 👇
*📌* **When did your Lens journey start?**
My @lens/lens journey started two years ago - I can hardly believe it’s been that long! @lens/christina invited me to join in the beginning (thanks Christina!!).
Being on Lens has completely changed how I think of social media. I’ve been able to experiment with different types of drops with everything from CC0 licenses to 1/1s.
It was so much fun releasing my series of Lens Loops and seeing other people remix them for their own projects.
*📌* **What's your favorite thing about the Lens ecosystem?**
There’s so much about the Lens ecosystem that I like, it’s hard to choose a favorite. What stands apart from any other platform is the ethos of Lens.
Everyone seems supportive of one another and I enjoy talking to people from different backgrounds. On Lens I’ve made friends with people who are developers, engineers, everything!
And of course it’s been a joy discovering and collecting art and music. This early period of Lens feels very special and I hope it will always be this way.
*📌* **Your favorite Lens app?**
The first app I check in the morning is @lens/orb. I love the Club feature and how easy it is to post and collect work. Orb was the first Lens app that I downloaded and it’s still my go-to.
*📌* **What are your expectations for the Lens ecosystem in 2024?**
I think Lens will become a central hub for all things web3. It has already changed how I release music.
Instead of dropping something on an outside platform, I’ve been releasing my music NFTs directly on Lens. As more people join I think we’ll see more of this. For me, it has made other platforms redundant.
I think the same will happen for Defi. The ability to swap tokens, trade, etc. will all be possible through Lens.

- Bubbly morning Fam,
my mermaid collection mix media physical and digital continues,
Here is my mermaid maternity.
THis piece is not just about desire of Maternity.
It's about the birth of ideas. The girl is young. Too young for a child.
But she is connected on a mind and heart level with it and her thirsd eye is guiding her intuition into bringing this idea to the right direction.
1 piece 50k bonsai.
Bubbly bye for now
- Through the Years (18/40)
This one was shot on my way to the cafe in Soho I used to work at for a brief time in 2019, one of my favorite parts about working there was taking the train early in the morning before the sun rose. One day I decided I had to document it, and I'm so glad I did.
