They got the things I used to yearn for, new sneakers, new garments, the freedom to buy what they wanted without thinking twice Meanwhile, I carried the stress of counting every expense. It was hard, especially in the beginning But over time, I began to understand something: my gratification is delayed. What I’m building matters more than short bursts of pleasure.
