I'm floored with Udio's (music genAI from a couple of ex-Deepmind folks) new capabilities, it's going from a toy to something genuinely useful very fast. Before it was ok for a bit of fun or background video music, but it's becoming a useful idea generation tool/cowriter now. You can now upload your own track you made in a DAW, and prompt it to generate vocals on top, or continue the track in any kind of direction. Then you can take that and run it through Logic's stem separator to get the separate vocal track. I gave it an old school jungle track I had started last year, and we made these vocals together with it on top. It understands the chord progression, rhythm from my track, and the vibe I'm asking it to go for with the vocals (after multiple takes of promption) - really starting to feel like a writing partner, and it's only going to get better. Obv no realtime human connection like you would have with other humans in a studio, but damn... I didn't expect it to be this good, feels like its starting to "understand" music at a fairly deep level, and is capable of surprising creativity. Lee Sedol moment for me. https://soundcloud.com/dharmaone/bittersweet
