Posted on Fountain - https://fountain.ink/p/potential/gho-whale-4 GHO Whale #4 Reigniting the Bonsai Whales series TLDR; Last year we had a blast with Bonsai Whales - increasingly expensive 1/1 \$BONSAI collectibles where all proceeds were spent collecting other posts and giving back to the community. It’s coming back as GHO Whales now. The idea is the same. Collect or tip this post and proceeds will go to support creators on Lens 🚀. History Remember the crazy \$BONSAI run last spring? Creator activity and collecting madness came with it. Pretty fun times. I wanted some action too and Bonsai Whales were born. I’d publish a cheeky 1/1 collectible, and once it was minted, would spend the proceeds collecting cool stuff. Then repeat. 4 Bonsai Whales were issued, 3 minted out. As Lens V2 data is archived now, it’s hard to track back all the collects, but I did tons. It wasn’t easy to spend 66.666 \$BONSAI (value in \$ thousands at the time 🤯) , not just throwing it left and right, but trying to actually pick what you liked. The feeling of sharing and giving back was something truly special. Most fun I had in a while. This one was left not minted and brought the series to a pause. You can’t mint it any more either, as Lens moved to V3 since then. Well, theoretically there’s a way to re-enable minting on selected legacy V2 posts, but it’s too much work. One for the archives. Next chapter - GHO Whales 🐋 Now, we are reigniting it all. Timing seems perfect. This is the inaugural GHO Whale, in the form of @fountain article, accessible Lens wide: Symbolically, it carries the number and the image from the last archived Bonsai Whale #4. 4/4 Collectible, 11 GHO each, 44 GHO in total. Let’s start small and see how it goes. Proceeds of all tips and collects will be spent collecting and tipping on Lens, with special attention for articles on fountain.ink, but not only them.
