I was talking with some crypto OG friends, and Lens came up. It got me thinking about where the real problem might be. I believe it’s all about marketing. Ethereum is facing a similar issue. People struggle to grasp most L2s, so only Base is likely to succeed because it has a recognizable brand connection with Coinbase that people can understand. Similarly, they can grasp Lens because Avara, Stani, and others are behind it. But they’re asking, “Where the hell is the Lens I can actually use?” They don’t understand what Orb, Hey, and the rest are. Just like with L2s, Lens clients are obscure apps built by secondary teams, and the average person is either hesitant to connect their wallet or completely unaware these apps exist. Farcaster = Warpcast. That’s simple and easy to market. It is something you can build hype around. It's something average user can comprehend with. What Lens needs is a straightforward Lens app with a basic social feed, a clear entry point for people in the Lens ecosystem.
