I read something in Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act that stuck with me: whenever we’re trying to solve a problem, trying often gets in the way. At first it sounded abstract, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I’d actually been living that truth for a long time I’ve often found myself obsessing over a problem, asking what should I do, how should I fix it, when will I figure it out? And almost every time, the answer appeared only after I stopped forcing it. Usually it came when I had to take a step back, when I shifted my focus, did something else, or simply gave my mind space to breathe. Then, out of nowhere, the solution showed up on its own It’s strange, but it makes sense. When we overthink, we tighten everything (think about attention, creativity, emotions). But when we release that tension, our perspective widens. The mind finds connections naturally, without all the pressure we put on it Now, whenever I face a problem, I try to remember that sometimes the best move is to pause. The answer will come, not because we chase it, but because we finally make room for it. And since I’ve started doing that I’ve realized that stress and exhaustion lose some of their weight🌹
