Thanks to @lens/bonsai we have a unique opportunity to monetise our work and creativity.
I differentiate in my own content like this:
1. my own crea

- GM fren! I typically price my art for the amount of werk it took to create it - rather than a set baseline cost 🌈✨
If a moar simple animation only takes me a day to create, I price it lower
If a complex animation takes me over a week to create, I price it higher
And for simple artifacts like original sketches or work-in-progress videos, a very low cost of just 5-10 Bonsai
Everything else I leave up to tips 💜
- Interesting breakdown! I think you were the first person I saw who made it possible to collect comments and I think that’s a really cool idea!
I have behind the scenes & work in progress content priced at 100 - 200 bonsai.
More involved videos or audio (open editions) 1,000 and 1/1s at 10,000.
But I think it’s an evolving system. Just last month I was making collects available in WMATIC. Who knew that we would have this whole new wonderful ecosystem?
- - 1 $bonsai to allow people to participate into an idea
- 10 $bonsai for memes
- 100 $bonsai for artworks (with or without AI)
- 1000 $bonsai for deep expressions
what i noticed is that the price you choose doesn’t really matters, but the contacts you have, the price doesn’t matter when you have friends with money, and this can verified checking for top holders of a profile, always the same people collecting the same profile…
- This is a real question for us.
For the time currently, there is no good streaming offer, so we are only making an fragment of the track available. We have restricted access to the full version to collectors only. We still have no idea how much it might cost. Sometimes 2 MATICs and sometimes 50 $BONSAI.
The cost of producing our tracks, given that we work with one of the best music producers in the world, is very high.
We started our adventure in WEB3 3-4 months ago and the return is incomparable to what we have in WEB2, but that doesn't mean it's much better. When we compare our real costs, our income is still very low.
Nevertheless, we are very keen to build a fanbase in WEB3.
I encourage you to collect our posts and music :D
Thank you very much!
- very interesting, thanks for sharing :-).
I guess price should ideally be related to the value the content generates for the user / future owner.
I’m not sure how relevant the work put into generating the content actually is 🤔.
additionally there are imho 2 further aspects worth considering (1) collects help to increase reach and (2) I read there will be a $BONSAI airdrop related to collects. ;-)
I’d 🤍to see more 🤍for (long) text posts. Imo the attention span of the average general purpose app user is heavily favouring images ;-).
Mirrors are a miracle for me. Idk how to utilise the rev sharing of mirrors effectively.
It kind of worked (?) with the get paid for mirror models but mirror to pay less or curate to earn is imo underutilised.
In the early days I think the sentiment was strongly in favour of collecting directly from the creator’s post - not the mirror.
- I'm a humble collector who sometimes creates.
As such, I tend to tier my support similar to @jeanayala as well as keeping an eye on the daily price of the collect currency. I was much more likely to spend 1000 $bonsai or 42,000,000 $pointless in their early life spans. I do adjust my comfort tiers for collecting based on a $ assessment.
- Nice thanks for this for me It has always been and will always be about having fun. I don’t have anything else to say. ❤️
