Option 1 will work best ,I guess it used to be like that in Phaver earlier with a simple mirror(or 100 % to the original post,not sure) I am not sure what is the practical difficulty in implementing the same for quote mirror I am not sure whether Phaver is ready yet for the option 2!
Also make mirroring one touch.

Totally agree, Sophette, I wanted to post/suggest this as well. You want to please someone with a mirror, but it's a pity that you can't put anything above it. 🤔😳
