- Meet XSwap: The first Cross-Chain Swaps Protocol powered by Chainlink CCIP.
*Introduction: Charting a Course for Secure Cross-Chain Transfers*
The DeFi ecosystem, while innovating and growing, has been significantly tainted by security vulnerabilities, particularly in cross-chain operations. Over $ 2.8 billion lost in bridge hacks is a testament to the pressing need for robust and secure solutions in cross-chain transactions. These breaches not only represent massive financial losses but also erode the trust essential for the flourishing of decentralized finance.
XSwap emerges in this context as a pivotal solution, addressing the dire need for secure and reliable cross-chain transfers in the Web3 space by becoming the first Cross-Chain Swaps Protocol integrating Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol CCIP.
*Revolutionizing DeFi with Chainlink's CCIP*
XSwap rises to the challenge, by pioneering Chainlink's CCIP. This integration marks a milestone in addressing the industry's gaping need for secure asset transfers across different blockchains. Chainlink's CCIP is a testament to a safer, more efficient method of handling assets in a multi-chain world.
CCIP’s security is second to none with its level-5 security approach. This security-centric approach utilizes multiple decentralized networks to secure a single cross-chain transaction, along with incorporating additional risk management systems.
Additionally, by harnessing the power of CCIP, XSwap has transformed the cross-chain transaction experience into a seamless, straightforward process. Gone are the days of convoluted procedures and heightened risks with no transparency, as every step is traceable in the blockchain and in the CCIP Explorer.
One of the major advantages of building on top of CCIP is that XSwap will be able to connect more chains easily, as CCIP starts supporting them. As of writing this article, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base are supported, with the aim to add non-EVM chains late this year.
*Multiple functionalities: Swap and Bridge seamlessly*
XSwap offers dual functionality: users can seamlessly swap assets across major blockchains and bridge tokens to different networks, enhancing asset utility and accessibility.
Imagine you have USDC on the Ethereum network and you need USDT on Arbitrum. With XSwap, you can either directly swap USDC for USDT or bridge the USDC token to its equivalent representation on the Arbitrum chain, depending on your needs.
*Catering to a Wide Array of Users*
XSwap acknowledges and addresses the varying needs of different user segments within the DeFi space, and created various products to serve these different markets.
Individual users
For individual clients, including enthusiasts and traders, XSwap offers an intuitive user interface and extensive chain support, ensuring a smooth and secure cross-chain transaction experience.
Protocols
For protocols going cross-chain is often a major technological hurdle. XSwap aims to ease this burden by offering two distinct products:
**Software Development Kit (SDK**): XSwap’s SDK is tailored for protocols, facilitating the incorporation of cross-chain liquidity movements and allowing these entities to broaden their reach and functionalities without substantial system modifications.
**Cross-Chain Smart Contracts Execution**: Protocols can utilize XSwap’s capabilities to manage complex cross-chain exchanges. This includes leveraging smart contracts for swaps and transfers, ensuring efficient and secure transaction handling.
With these offerings, DEXs will be able to integrate XSwap and offer single-transaction cross-chain swaps using their native pools.
*Where Chainlink meets XSwap*
XSwap is built on top of Chainlink’s CCIP and additionally joined the BUILD program in December 2023 to have early access to CCIP and additional support from the Chainlink team. Being part of the BUILD program will also help XSwap integrate further products from Chainlink such as Functions which the Xswap team has its eyes on.
*Conclusion*
XSwap, with its pioneering integration of Chainlink's CCIP, is redefining the DeFi landscape. Offering secure, efficient and user-friendly cross-chain transactions, XSwap not only addresses current market needs but also offers solutions for other protocols. XSwap can benefit greatly from the cross-chain revolution as many DeFi protocols will benefit from integrating their Chainlink-supported solution, enhancing the developer experience needed to build a successful and secure ecosystem.
As the first project to embark on this journey with Chainlink, XSwap sets a precedent, establishing a new standard in cross-chain transfers and giving access to users to Chainlink CCIP.

- Chainlink
- Chainlink's #SmartCon has again surpassed expectations. There have been many product announcements, updates, and alpha shared. SmartCon2023 recap 🧵
Let's start with the new product launches. Data Streams (prev. known as low-latency oracles) supply data at high frequency. This type of data delivery is a must for many dApps like derivative DEXs. One such DEX (GMX) was a tester, and now Data Streams are live on Mainnet.
Data Streams are capable of delivering data in sub-second latency, enabling a vast array of novel use cases previously not feasible on blockchains and on-chain finance.
To have a healthy ecosystem of cutting-edge dApps we need as Steve Ballmer once said "DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS". To onboard new devs Chainlink has built a Developer hub with demos, tutorials, courses, and an AI-powered assistant trained on Chainlink docs.
CCIP (Cross-chain interoperability protocol) is now live on Mainnet on 7 chains:
-Ethereum
-Polygon
-Avalanche
-Arbitrum
-Optimism
-Base
-BNB Chain
CCIP has been live for less than 3 months, yet over 70 protocols, banks and institutions have expressed interest in using it.
Staking a community darling- will be making its way into v0.2. This version will enable:
-v0.1 stakers will be able to withdraw or migrate to v0.2 their staked $LINK
-The pool will be expanded to 45M $LINK
-Rewards will be dynamic, instead of the fixed rate of v0.1
Automation 2.0 was another announcement by Chainlink's CPO Kemal. This 2.0 update will reduce by a whopping 90% gas costs, while dApps will be able to do more advanced computations on it.
Chainlink's vision is clear, they don't want to chase trends or predict them, they want to provide the best infrastructure possible for developers to build on. Chainlink wants to be the platform where trends happen.
Chainlink BUILD continues to grow at an exponential rate and while there were 4 BUILD partners for last year's #SmartCon, there are now over 70 projects enrolled, which have given a % of their token supply to #Chainlink stakers. (meetthebuilders.org/)
At #SmartCon we also got an update and demo to DECO, a #Chainlink service that will use zkp (Zero-knowledge proofs) to prove an application some information without revealing anything more than necessary.
OCR 3.0 was also announced with higher flexibility for devs, more data throughput and faster finalization.
Last but definitely not least, #SmartCon started earlier thanks to the Hackerhouse, where devs were busy building the future of dApps. Again devs are key for a prosperous ecosystem. Also, the PreGame where gamers showed up to make the statement that Web3 gaming is the future.
#SmatCon2023 has been a blast, the atmosphere was amazing and people were in talks to continue building. Was amazing to meet so many manires irl and one thing is clear, the future is bright and #Chainlink is at the centre of it.

- Meet Lympid: an overview.
DeFi, simplified
DeFi's complexity can deter many potential users. For Web3 to break into the mainstream, user-friendly experiences are non-negotiable. It's not enough to have a sturdy product; users crave simplicity. They want a platform that handles their financial transactions swiftly and efficiently. Ease of use matters greatly and Chainlink BUILD partner Lympid focuses on that.
The problem at hand
So far, Web3 enthusiasts depend on third-party wallets to interact with a myriad of dApps. This reliance complicates the process, introducing several cumbersome steps before a transaction can be finalized. It's not exactly the most inviting introduction to Web3.
Introducing Lympid
Lympid addresses this pain point. When users create a Lympid account, they receive both a Web3 wallet and an IBAN (International Bank Account Number). This means funds can be transferred via conventional bank transfers to the Lympid account, enabling deployment into Web3 protocols and beyond.
What sets Lympid apart?
It extends access to traditional financial products that other Web3 platforms often overlook.
Directly from EUR, users can purchase US Treasury Bills, currently yielding around 4.5%. This is made possible by offering a tokenized version of the US T-Bills, showcasing the exciting possibilities of tokenizing real-world assets.
Moreover, Lympid offers a staking feature. Within their account, users can store fiat and crypto. From EUR, Lympid facilitates direct conversions to ETH and BNB, capitalizing on staking and protocol validation rewards.
In essence, Lympid serves as:
Crypto on-and-off-ramp
Web3 wallet
Bank account
A platform for purchasing US Treasury Bills
A hub for asset yield generation
And there's even more on the horizon…
Prioritising user experience
A plethora of products won't appeal to users if the platform isn't intuitive. Onboarding with Lympid is designed to be a breeze, side-stepping the usual intricacies of setting up a Web3 wallet. When you create an account, you're given a wallet and an IBAN—no need to deal with seed phrases. Lympid's interface mirrors the familiarity of digital and neo-banks, ensuring users feel right at home.
Unwavering security
In the spirit of Web3, don’t trust, verify. Lympid anchors its services in transparency. User assets are safeguarded under European Licensed Banks (for EUR) and regulated custodians like Fireblocks for digital assets. Unlike some centralized platforms, Lympid dedicates a unique wallet to each user, ensuring individualized verification of funds through blockchain explorer addresses. Complying with European regulations, Lympid requires some KYC to comply with European regulations in order to offer their products.
How is Chainlink used?
Lympid leverages Chainlink's price feeds for token price monitoring. In addition, Lympid joined the Chainlink BUILD program on June 22, 2023, to get the most out of the benefits of security and reliability that Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure provides.
Meet the team at Lympid
Lympid's team comprises seasoned professionals from traditional finance, financial law, and fintech startups. Their multidisciplinary expertise ensures that the platform is comprehensive, adeptly bridging the crypto and traditional finance realms.
Conclusion
Lympid offers his type of simplified Web3 platform to attract traditional Web2 users who find the current Web3 experience too overwhelming. Ease of use matters a lot, even if the capability was there before, not being able to cater that capability to a broad audience has been the barrier to crypto’s mass adoption. Platforms such as Lympid will help bridge Web2 users to Web3 by providing a seamless transition.

- Chapter 11 of Meet the BUILDers
This time a darling of the community, Truflation, a #ChainlinkBUILD partner focused on providing a better way to track inflation using a more objective and decentralised method.
Truflation tackles a fundamental issue, inflation calculation. Official inflation numbers are being calculated using a century-old formula resulting in inaccurate results. Truflation takes a different approach by using a more transparent method.
Simply put, Truflation tracks the prices of thousands of items and services and reports an unbiased number. No additional calculations are needed.
With their dashboard you can even filter by category and analyze the inflation rate in each product category. Truflation started by tracking US's inflation rate, but is rapidly expanding. It now also tracks UK's inflation, and it's not a pretty side to behold...
Continuing with its expansion, Truflation is now offering other products, like an individualized inflation calculator. Truflation is even now a data provider, with 8 data feeds.
Last but not least their latest solution, a widget, to integrate into any website, dashboard, or application. Truflation is one of the 3 original BUILD projects.
Not only that but it's also supporting other #ChainlinkBUILD protocols like @NuonFinance a flatcoin pegged to inflation which of course uses the truthful inflation data provided by Truflation.
- DECO is #Chainlink's zk product aimed to preserve privacy in a blockchain world where everything is public. As everything involving #zkp, understanding it can be pretty daunting. A deciphering #DECO's research series.
In short, #DECO is a privacy-preserving technology that allows users to prove certain information without revealing the actual data. To make it easier, here are some concepts to understand this thread:
Alice = Prover
Bob = Verifier
Charlie = TLS server
In simple terms, #DECO allows Bob to verify that Alice is providing genuine information without seeing the actual data. It does this by following the steps of a secure communication protocol (TLS) that ensures data privacy.
One of the main challenges in #DECO is ensuring that Alice uses the correct session key (K) to prove her information. DECO solves this by asking Alice to provide a "key binding proof" which guarantees the session key is generated correctly.
One of the main challenges in #DECO is ensuring that Alice uses the correct session key (K) to prove her information. DECO solves this by asking Alice to provide a "key binding proof" which guarantees the session key is generated correctly.
To create this key binding proof, Alice and Charlie first generate a shared secret (S) and then compute the key (K) based on S. Bob verifies the key by observing certain values and matching them with what he has recorded.
Once the key agreement is done, Alice and Bob have an encrypted version of the data (C) and a commitment to the session key (K). Now, they need to compute a commitment to the decrypted data (R) through a secure process.
This decryption process can be quite resource-intensive, but #DECO overcomes this challenge by using hash functions. This allows the memory requirements to stay manageable, even for large amounts of data.
At this point, Bob commits to the decrypted response (R) and is convinced that the data is authentic. The next step is to parse the authenticated response without revealing the actual data to Bob. This will be explained in an upcoming research post.
#DECO enables secure and private data sharing, allowing users to prove certain information without revealing sensitive data. So far, 2 of 5 research series posts have been published, will break down the upcoming ones too, so stay tuned.
#DECO's use-cases:
• Decentralized identity.
• DeFi with privacy-preserving smart contracts.
• Privacy-preserving medical research, in which users relay electronic-health-record data to researchers in a trustworthy but private way.

- Marines asked and Chainlink's CPO delivered. The first Q&A with Kemal was 🔥and packed with alpha. Some notes on what was revealed ⬇
Kemal thinks we are still early. #Web3 still needs to find the "ChatGPT" or "IPod" moments that #AI and the music streaming industry had.
Chainlink is uniquely positioned to capture this potential future marked as a Web3 services platform.
This goes with what @SergeyNazarov said in the CLG pod: Chainlink's strategy is to adapt quickly and capture any emerging market thanks to its positioning.
CCIP is coming to a sea of other proposed interoperability solutions and is not the first to market.
But as Kemal said, “Pioneers take the arrows, settlers take the land”, and first to market != first secure to market.
Chainlink will be the latter and THE ONE that actually captures the market as it doesn't add another layer to trust.
No doubt that blockchains will be where assets live in the future, and for that products like #ProofofReserves and #Automation will play a key role.
Just as Low latency oracles that will revolutionise the derivative markets.
Chainlink is also looking to further decentralise, by adding more node operators. Kemal shared the recipe to do it:
-Launching more Chainlink services, will increase the potential revenue for node operators which in turn will lead to more nodes trying to get a piece of the pie.
Kemal knows a thing or two about AI being the Ex-product lead for TensorFlow, ex-AI lead at Messenger.
He thinks that blockchain and AI will be partners in crime thanks to blockchain's ability to collect quality data and train AI models without actually sharing that data. AI will also help onboard new devs, and help them make improved products.
