- We're proud to introduce Lens Improvement Proposals (LIPs). This open, collaborative process will guide the future development of Lens Protocol.
Taking inspiration from the successful Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) and Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs), LIPs takes a step towards decentralized governance. The LIPs process will foster an inclusive, transparent and collaborative environment.
You will find how to participate in LIPs in the Lens Protocolโs GitHub repository, which streamlines the community participation process. It gives anyone the chance to submit proposals, and promotes open discussion.
Let's dive into the first three proposals that are live today:
LIP-0: Establishing an Open Governance Model. A process where the Lens community can propose improvements to Lens Protocol. From the submission of proposals to transparent discussions โ we aim to foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive decision-making governance model.
LIP-1: Open Standards for Algorithms. A proposal to establish open standards for algorithms โ based on the open Lens data layer โ that will encourage the development of third-party algorithms, diverse experiences and provide user choice.
LIP-2: Open Standards for Metadata. An initiative to establish metadata standards for Lens Protocol, promoting transparency, interoperability, and user empowerment.
Take a deep dive into LIPs in our latest blog: https://mirror.xyz/lensprotocol.eth/8uxN9fMYBOqyDW5yZ6O3DDdOLEv1jJtxcw9qk4c4wgM
LIPs are our next step in enabling community involvement in shaping Lens Protocol's future.

If you're interested in creating **NFT marketplaces with great user experience**, this is for you! ๐คฉโจ
Also, here's a ***Blog post*** if you wanna `BUIDL` it along:
https://megabyte0x.hashnode.dev/nft-marketplace-using-paper
The complexity of the Web3 ecosystem, including wallets, private keys, and gas fees, makes NFT marketplaces hard to use for non-web3 users. But there are ways to address these issues and make NFT marketplaces more accessible. Let's dive in! ๐งฑ๐ฅ๐๐ช๐ป๐ ๏ธ
๐ค๐คฏ๐ป Reasons to avoid using Metamask as the only wallet for your dApp:
* Limited Web3 knowledge can make users hesitant.
* The installation process can be complicated and deter many users.
* Managing private keys can be complex, posing significant concerns for both users and the product.
๐ป๐ฅ๐ Reasons for bad UX in most dApps:
* Traditional wallets can be complex and hard to use for non-web3 users.
* Users must purchase funds to interact with the dApp, hindering new user onboarding.
* Users need to sign every interaction and always have the wallet accessible.
๐๐ก๐ค Alternatives:
* Smart contracts can act as user accounts and execute transactions on behalf of the user.
* Account Abstraction offers customizable logic for wallet creation and transaction gas payment.
* One option is creating a wallet using an email address, where the user's email generates a private key.
๐ก๏ธ๐๐ฐ Paper's Solution to Bad UX: The Embedded Wallet SDK helps address user experience issues by providing features like user wallets using email or social logins, signing messages without prompts, and allowing users to recover wallets on any device.
๐งโ๐ป๐ฉโ๐ป๐๐ช๐ป By utilizing Paper's Embedded Wallet SDK, developers can create a seamless user experience that improves onboarding for new users and enhances the overall user experience. The SDK helps streamline wallet creation and makes it easier for users to access and recover wallets on any device. It also allows users to connect to other apps through WalletConnect.
๐ค๐ฐ๐๐ By providing a better user experience, NFT marketplaces can attract more users and potentially increase revenue. Check out The Paper's Embedded Wallet SDK if you're interested in building an NFT marketplace with great UX!
๐๐ช๐ป๐ ๏ธ Developers can create NFT marketplaces accessible to all, including non-web3 users, by focusing on user experience and implementing innovative solutions. Let's work towards improving UX in the Web3 ecosystem!

- What do you think about bots mirroring your content?
Do you think bots will beat @wav3s ?๐ฑ
Weยดve noticed the rise of automated programs that rush to get behind new waves of campaigns.
We have been thinking a lot about the effects of this on our and YOUR feed.
This is why we want to open the conversation and invite you to join us tomorrow at our bots vs @wav3s Twitter Space at 7 pm GT-3 to talk about this and much more!
Oh, but wait. You still haven't tried @wav3s to promote your content? What are you waiting for !! Do it now: https://wav3s.app/
Also, you can join our Discord group if you have any questions and would like to connect with fellow wavers ๐๐โโ๏ธ โ> https://discord.com/invite/3hJYPaSc3g
See you tomorrow! (Only humans, though, no bots allowed๐)
- Let's talk about bots,
Since day 1 we knew there were bots in the network. Just like the ones that started following me today. They all do the same with slight variations, very easy to detect by their behaviour that they are not real humans (easy to cluster). They can easily follow each other, increase their follower count to surpass any minimum follower filter, this filter is good to start but not enough.
Having a enjoyable experience on Lens for me, includes not being tricked. I don't mind the bots existing, but they should be identifiable for everyone, specially for the less tech savvys. Are you ok with these bots armys making people believe they are followed and engaged? Not me ๐ค.
There are other kind of bots like @remindmebot, or @truthordare that are really nice to have and to interact with. Also real people that decide to automate their interactions with chainjet or other tool, this I don't mind either except when interacting with wav3s, debatable, cause I think the experience is better when you know people is really sharing you content.
The solutions we are working on, in the case of @wav3s is to:
1. Filter using tools like guild.xyz, with this you can go really granular, with things like "must follow this and that account" or "must have this amount of this NFT or currency".
2. Segmentation. This idea goes in the direction of clustering by interests, better applied when a user has participation on groups and communities.
3. Proof of humanity. This may shrink the userbase though.
4. Blacklisting any bot account until proving good behaviour. Giving the option to each user to blacklist or not, known and new accounts that we know are bots. But if you don't want to blacklist them, that's ok.
5. DAO of the people promoting on @wav3s.lens, so they decide actions to be taken
There are also other tools in the ecosystem and Lens itself is working on solutions.
What do you think about this? We are having fun in @wav3s.lens working and watching how this develops.
Fren mirror this wav3, also bot, take your reward, while you can ๐

- ๐ฅ Day 1 of #30daysweb3security @Web3SecurityDAO
Today I deep-dived into the EVM through Chapter 13 of Mastering Ethereum.
- Hey!, my name is Benjamin Gutiรฉrrez, one of the founders of Wav3s ๐ค and I'm here to tell you the story of how I went from a regular job to living my dream of working full-time on Wav3s.
At the end of 2021, together with @cristianvaldivia.lens , another Wav3s founder, we decided to leave our start-up at the peak of success. We were working like crazy without much remuneration, but it was impossible to scale, since we were working with hardware. We knew we wanted to take the plunge and dive into the world of Web 3, since our team meetings always ended up with us discussing the exciting world of blockchain. We had a couple of ideas, but nothing concrete - so each one of us went our own way.
I spent the next year automating processes in several companies, while still studying up to launch myself into entrepreneurship in Web3. The second semester of 2022 changed everything. With Cristian, we attended our first crypto event in Argentina - and it just so happened that it was on my birthday! It was one of the best birthdays I've ever had, getting to know the crypto community and projects like Poap , which helped us a lot to connect with more people. But the highlight of the week was when Stani talked about Lens protocol - it blew my head off! ๐คฏ
When I arrived back in Chile, I was disappointed to find that there was not the same level of community and activity. I apply to become a Polygon Guild Mage, to create the Polygon community in Chile. Hundreds of people applied, and luckily I was chosen - I think my travels to Argentina helped.
Thanks to being a Polygon Guild Mage, I was given a scholarship to Devcon. We participated in the Hackathon and I still think we should have won a prize, because our product was really good - and the product work perfectly. We created a humanity verification system with Poap, so if you shared POAPs with another person, you could validate them as human - a simple, but useful idea to fight bots. ๐ค
Although our project, Verify me or Soureal, didn't work out, I still have a lot of affection for it. We had the chance to meet the entire Lens team, including Stani, and they invited us to rAave and more. ๐ค
When we returned to Chile, we met @bvdaniel.lens , the other Wav3s founder, and tested a couple of ideas within the Lens ecosystem. When we made it public on Lens, nobody tested it or even liked it. We felt completely unnoticed, so we decided to create Wav3s, so that everyone could spread their publications through Lens - and the growth it has had, and all the support we've received, still amazes.
The conclusion of this story is that one decision can open or close a world of opportunities - so don't be afraid to take a risk, because you may find something even better! ๐คฉ

- iโm starting to realize that different apps in the lens ecosystem serve different functions, all of which lead to a richer, shared feed across apps
hereโs my understanding of how each app plays itโs part in the ecosystem (a mini directory if you will):
- @orb.lens is one app that allows you to view your feed on mobile (my most used lens app)
- @lenster.lens is where you can view your feed on desktop & can set fees for collects
- @lenstube.lens is where you can post video content
- @wav3s.lens is where you can start promoting your content for claimable rewards
- @lensport.lens is a marketplace where you can sell fee-based collects (posts as NFTs)
the key here is that each of these apps seem to fill functionality gaps that the other apps do not have yet can still benefit from
