- I took a stab at creating a tool to help discover new Lens users and content: https://predictcrypto.shinyapps.io/content-discovery/
First, the application figures out what accounts you have interacted with the most. Then it uses that list and finds what accounts they have interacted with the most themselves which you do not follow, and shows you content you haven't interacted with by those users. So basically taking users who's content you like, and using their engagement as a guide to find new content you may find interesting.
The app will also take all of those posts, and run them through GPT-4 to provide you a summary of the most noteworthy posts from the list (see example in video).
I may experiment with different alternatives and customizable algorithms for timelines, I think it's a pretty interesting area.
- 🚨🚨 ATTENTION PLS 🚨🚨
Hey gm gm Frens! 💜 How's going Monday? 👀 We've some news for you.. 👇🏻
Lens rolled out a new AI-based tool to detect bot accounts last week and any accounts the new system flags will no longer have their gas fees covered by Lens, which also means posting through Phaver will fail as we use the Lens API. If you get an error message when trying to make a Lens post via Phaver, you can do the following:
- Try making a post in Lenster, if it requires you to pay your own gas fees for posting your profile is likely on this restriction list.
- Fill this form https://forms.gle/J7PE6etTFxoYRJzTA and our team will investigate your profile. Please note that things that cause a profile to be considered as “low quality” may include e.g: posting a very high volume of posts every day, making a lot of single word comments or posts, following or liking everything and everyone or other actions that are not adding real value to others.
- If your profile does not fill the above “low quality” criteria we will submit it to Lens for a new review and Lens will reconsider removing the restrictions.
- In the meanwhile anyone can make Lens posts on Lenster by paying the gas fee and signing each post, while on Phaver you can make Phaver posts by removing the green Lens-toggle when posting.

- 📚 **Fun fact about posts on #Lens!**
They can be hosted on either centralized or decentralized resources.
Decentralized ones cannot be deleted. A better name for the "Delete" button (@lenster.lens) in this case would be "Hide" because, technically, it is more accurate. Such a post can still be viewed even after deletion.
On the other side, centralized ones can be deleted if you or anyone else can access the centralized host. Or better, if a post owner can delete it, he can also change the content. So, when you see a post, you can only be sure that the content will stay the same once you know whether it is centralized or not (better not to believe in bet predictions on Lens, right?).
And since comments are technically still posts (but with a reference), we can edit them as well and make some dirty game. In general, there will be no edit tracks unless the comment's content has been uploaded to some sort of archive.
That was my first thought, but then I dug a little deeper. The trick won't work with the default Lens indexer that everyone uses nowadays because it indexes posts only once after transaction confirmation on #Polygon. So, basically, it copies your post to the indexer's DB, and later, when you use Lenster or some other client, you don't get the data from the actual post's content URL but from this DB.
I wondered why it works like that because this means the indexer's DB won't represent the actual state of the blockchain in some cases. I've written in the Lens Discord, and the answers were as follows:
https://discord.com/channels/918178320682733648/1080136391989669989/1080230235854864446
@cesare.lens: "To be clear the blockchain data is not changed, on-chain each post|comment has a content URI that cannot be changed. The contentURI has to point to a public location. From an immutability perspective a "purist" would argue to use an immutable data storage (e.g. IPFS) still the Lens Protocol does not stop you to use a URL you control. The indexer is driven primarily by on-chain events to determine what and when to fetch contentURI. Updating the file won't cause a chain event so simply updating the file won't work."
@wagmi.lens: "We will add a refresh endpoint soon it's on the radar"

- Embedded Captchas arriving to Guild to spice up verification requirements
CAPTCHAS:
they’ve been around, we’ve all been using them, we kinda like them, they are still essential.
Guild just made them simpler and more seamless to use in your community strategies by embedding them into the bot.

- ✨ **Introducing Glass Protocol ✨**
gm lens fam ☀️ For those of you that don’t know us, we’re building a protocol for decentralized video on Ethereum.
We’re passionate about video. We believe in having true ownership over the videos you make, how they’re seen, and how they’re monetized. That’s why we’re building an open, permissionless protocol for owning, distributing, and building communities around video.
And that’s why we’re constantly experimenting and building with new Web3 communities to help us further our mission… which brings us to Lens. We’re excited to build more ways for the video creators in the Lens community to create amazing videos with Glass.
Oh—and one more thing. We just announced The Glass Pass, an NFT that represents your creator identity, and your key to owning and creating videos on Glass. You can read more about it here: https://blog.glass.xyz
And to show our love to the Lens community...
🏆 **Anyone who collects this post will be recorded on The Glass Pass claim allowlist** 🏆
And if you vibe with our mission, check out our Manifesto: https://glass.xyz/manifesto
