- Lens broke a new record: over 200,000 Profiles minted. ๐ How are you planning to celebrate it, anon? ๐ฅณ
- One of my favorite apps on Lens @lens/kaira ๐
- I am sharing this post as a free mint in honor of Aaron Bushnell. Along with a transcript of his final words.
"Hi my name is Aaron Bushnell, I am an active duty member of the United States Air Force and I will no longer be complicit in genocide. I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers it's not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided, will be normal. Free Palestine!"

- In the light of going permissionless, we added more community gardeners (and kept some Lens team members for now) to the report spam/bots and low quality signals. As usual, the protocol allows anyone to post content and interact with other users. Lens API is used to enable enhanced experience across Lens apps thats using Lens.
Here is the list (if you want to help, feel free to drop your name below in the comments)

These profiles operate with 3 strike system. Report once = 1 week rate limit, report twice = 3 week rate limit, report three times = indefinite rate limit on the API. Kind reminder that rate limit will only reduce reach through Lens API (used by many of the Lens apps) and apps that have their own backend that would reflect the gardener actions. Developers have the opt-in option to use it or not. Reported users data is still retrievable from the protocol level and these users (most likely bots) would be still able to interact with the protocol but friendly apps won't give them reach.
There is no data available for who reported a profile for obvious reasons, however flags can be disputed (dispute system can be created via LIP for example).
This system is a quick win for permissionless and can be improved and governed via LIP as we the community can assess how the system works. Adding and removing names could also be governed via LIP in the future (i.e. removing Lens team members etc). Hopefully gardeners will make Lens a better place upon going permissionless.
Feel free to leave your thoughts below.
- LIP-9 is fascinating discussion around enabling protocol-vide user verification. Left my thoughts around creating global (Lens-wide) and local (App-specific) verification properties.
Global ones aims to use the data across all apps on Lens (i.e. checkmarks/humanity) and local ones would be app-specific (verifying that you are a music creator).

- Can everyone do a favour before we go permissionless. Start now unfollowing users that are spammy, low signal etc that you don't personally like. It would improve your reputation score (which is public on BigQuery, since it was released) and create better baseline for all activity on Lens. ๐งน
The reputation score is public so feel free to lean onto it and build new algos, anon.

Your opinion has value, Lens is community-driven decentralized social network
- Everyone on Lens before permissionless are going to be known as the OG gardeners. You all contributed into Lens in a very early and exciting time period, supporting community-driven decentralized social
- tl;dr on permissionless Lens LIP-5 https://github.com/lens-protocol/LIPs/pull/29โฆ
- Lens community strongly supports permissionless
- Small fee on the existing claim flow to mitigate DDoS
- Apps receive credits to on-board users with 0 fees on weekly allowances (managed later by a LIP)
- Each app decides their own claim flow
- Existing main claim flow can sunset to progress decentralization after apps have their own flows
- Spam/bots will be managed on community level
- No geoblocking
- Vibes only

- Some say that people don't care about decentralization. I would imagine that people didn't care about the internet when most people weren't online. Now that everyone is online, no one can live without being online. Same will happen with onchain.
- Some things in the world are more important than possessions. One of them is the ability to be happy with the simple things.
"Dale Carnegie"
- Validium sounds like a drug
- Rule number 1:
Never be number 2
- Who is the most reliable validium dealer in crypto town?
- One of the biggest challenges in Web3 is balancing composability and risk.
Two recent innovations have opened the door to create novel social experiences while tackling this dilemma.
**Lens Open Actions** and **Farcaster Frames**
Open actions are smart contract calls embedded into an on-chain publication.
They enable developers to embed specific contract calls, parameters, revenue models, and logic (token-gating, follow-gating).
The key benefits of embedding an interaction as a smart contract module are provenance and immutability.
Both the creator and executor can explicitly agree to the terms of execution, and these terms can be verified by anyone.
Frames are a way to embed interactive apps into a social feed.
They enable developers to embed an image and buttons into a social feed, and trigger a callback on button press to update the frame.
Some use cases of Frames are polls, games, or relay-sponsored transactions.
Frames provide a rigid way to embed a frontend experience, while delegating the execution to a callback function which can execute anything.
Open actions are essentially the complement to this design: explicitly defined action and open-ended frontend experience.
The beauty of these primitives and Web3 in general is that they can work interoperably.
I envision a world where where publications on Lens and Farcaster can co-exist by referencing and interacting with each other.
One thing is for certain: the future of agreements is on-chain.

- The Trezor security wallet suffered a security flaw
โช๏ธ Trezor, the maker of cryptocurrency hardware wallets, has announced that a security breach has occurred in its third-party support system. The breach exposed the contact information of nearly 66,000 Trezor users, including their names, email addresses, and phone numbers.
โช๏ธ The company has asked users who have interacted with the Trezor support team since December 2021 to be aware of phishing attacks. This security breach is a big blow to the company.
