- I think this photo I took before for the #OpenLens event is quite fun and appropriate :) I love walking in the forests and the green universe saves me from the feeling of suffocation in cities created from concrete. The world went on before I was in the universe, it will continue after I'm gone, and walking around in this green universe reminds me of these and reminds me not to take certain things too seriously. At the same time, the vitality of the green in the forest shows that no matter what happens in life, I have to be alive, in the "now". I have always loved walking in forests. It has always made me feel alive. Maybe what our ancestors felt while living in the forest was genetically transmitted to me in the deepest depths. No matter what we live, no matter where we are, no matter who we are with, no matter what road we have walked, just like a smiling face on the tree in this photo, we should not forget to smile no matter what. I like to write my thoughts spontaneously and think that I create emotions in people who read it. This is one of my spontaneous writings. I hope I have dragged you into good thoughts and I was able to leave a beautiful smile as in this photo. Let me finish my thoughts with the following words from Albert Camus, the existentialist writer whom I love and admire: "Even if they forced me to live in a tree hollow, I had nothing to do but look at the sky."

- Found something interesting on my morning walk with @honey.lens in London. Found a street paved with wood! Apparently wood-block paving was popular in London to reduce the noice of the horse carriages and later became less popular as you can imagine the combination of rain and horse shit can make it quite slippery.

- Momoka, the new infrastructure powering @lensprotocol, just hit 500,000 transactions at a total cost of ~ $173
With these updates our infrastructure is now ~250x less expensive while being ~165x more scalable than in the past. 🤯
Momoka Stats
💰 Cost of 100,000 transactions:
Old infrastructure ~ $10,000.00
Momoka ~$40.00
Difference ~250,000% less expensive ⚡️
📈 Scalability of 100,000 transactions
Old infrastructure (~30 TPS) 55 minutes
Momoka (~50,000 TPS) 2 seconds
Difference ~ 165,000% more scalable ⚡️
Here’s how it works 🌫️
Blockchains today cannot scale to social TPS.
Traditional databases scale to up to millions of operations per second while most blockchains max out at a few hundred.
This is mainly because blockchain storage is an expensive bottleneck in terms of both cost and scalability.
Blockchain storage is more than just storage - it also enables composability, allowing your state to also be executed with other smart contracts and programs.
But with most social use cases, especially non-financial, that power and composability is not needed, so why would we continue to use it in this way?
For decentralized social applications, two of the main characteristics needed are permanent and immutable storage tied to a user’s identity.
What if those characteristics could be derived from another infrastructure layer, but at a much lower cost and with more scalability?
In the past, all Lens transactions were processed on the EVM via Polygon network.
What is the EVM at its root? It is a big state machine, holding the entire history of state changes of what has happened in what are known as archive nodes.
The expensive part of using EVM networks is performing these state updates.
BUT! The EVM only forces cost when you want to change the state in the next block.
The EVM does **not** charge anything to simulate if something could of happened on a certain block.
This means that you can leverage this to check that a transaction has been signed by the correct access control and would of passed for free *without any gas needed*.
When you do an EVM contract call, you are signing the transaction with your private key. The EVM verifies this and injects key helpers like msg.sender which is your public key to allow contracts to know it was you who did that.
Since transactions can be run for free to prove something has the correct access control conditions to run it, what if we swapped the storage updates to a place that can handle high TPS, cheap, immutable, one time payments and will be guaranteed for at least 100 years?
Momoka is an optimistic hybrid layer 3 solution from Lens Protocol that uses data availability storage on Arweave/Bundlr along with transaction proofs on Polygon to enable highly scalable and low-cost social graph data storage and verification. It allows proving social graph transactions would be valid on-chain without actually submitting them, enabling greater scalability while maintaining verifiability and user ownership.
Arweave is a decentralized blockchain-like infrastructure protocol, built specifically for storing data forever for a one off cost, and was launched over 6 years ago.
Bundlr Network is an Arweave scaling solution built to handle 50,000+ TPS. It functions similarly to a rollup in that it batches multiple transactions together and posts them to the underlying network.
An important characteristic of Bundlr is that it supports EVM addresses, allowing you to build EVM tech state on Arweave ⚡️. They also allow you to pay fees in any EVM native token you wish!
To enable this new functionality on Lens, Momoka introduces two new pieces of architecture - the Submitter and the Verifier.
Submitters are responsible for validating and constructing the metadata and submitting it to Arweave, providing proofs that anyone can contest.
The Verifier software listens for publications sent from whitelisted submitter addresses and verifies their validity.
Anyone can run a verifier using open-source software with a few commands.
https://github.com/lens-protocol/momoka
Momoka is not limited to blocks and max limits as the restriction has been removed due to storage on Bundlr/Arweave.
Momoka gets timestamp proofs from Bundlr to be able to keep chain and off-chain actions in ordering and also to have a third party timestamp to avoid trust assumptions on Momoka.
With Momoka, users still own their content as it’s not possible to action a Momoka transaction if you do not pass the access control on-chain.
Momoka is fully trustless – anyone can check proofs with their own Polygon archive node!
We believe Momoka is core to the future of web3 social, enabling applications to scale to tens of thousands of operations per second while still enabling the differentiating features that make web3 social unique and special.

- Ozy. Your youth will be an even more sought-after substance than anti-matter. You are much younger now. You have energy. You have courage. You have the power to learn. Time passes quickly. You are aware of this. There are moments when you think about memories and you say, "Wow. time goes by so fast." Your youth will never come again. You have to understand this more consciously. Anyway nevermind. You start "Tomorrow" to do. You have more time anyway, right? No, there is no such thing. Shape time according to your wishes and consciously build and live according to your own search for meaning. And beware, don't put yourself in a state of anxiety about the future. Be in the moment and take action. There will be moments when you just want to go home and lay my head on the pillow today. This is also part of the challenge. There will be moments when you won't be able to build anything that day. You will just exist. Let it be. You will still make progress, however small. Be aware of your "Youth" no matter what. Try to enjoy the moment. The moments when you think you are lost, stop by these writings. Take a pen and write. It will happen spontaneously, just like this article. You are self-sufficient. Remember, you realized this in December of 2017. There will be moments when you will want to surrender to the "feeling of being lost". No, you shouldn't. This is not a good thing. It may be a part of the journey, but such moments will only make the journey tiring. Stop by the Stoic philosophy at these moments. Take another look at Marcus Aurelius' book. Take another look at what you yourself wrote earlier. Drop by the nostalgia you've been experiencing. Sometimes it's good to think about what you've been through in the present tense. It gives you strength and hope for the future. We are forgetful creatures. Remembering is good for us. It directs and powerfully shapes the future. No matter what the situation is, no matter what conditions you enter, don't stay away from yourself, do not isolate yourself. Don't do this for a happy and meaningful life. I love you my friend. We have overcome difficult times together and we will overcome difficulties again. We have built beautiful and happy moments and we will again. I hope you will find your dreams and loved ones happily, you will achieve them. I hope that you will continue on your way with people who have a pure heart among the people who stand in your way and you will share valuable memories. Even if you are a small dust in this vast universe, what you do matters :) Keep making existence valuable :)

#ExistentialOzy
- https://youtu.be/MBRqu0YOH14 - OPTIMISTIC NIHILISM
Human existence is scary and confusing.
A few hundred thousand years ago, we became conscious and found ourselves in a strange place.
It was filled with other beings. We could eat some; some could eat us.
There was liquid stuff we could drink; things we could use to make more things.
The daytime sky had a tiny yellow ball that warmed our skin.
The night sky was filled with beautiful lights.
This place was obviously made for us. Something was watching over us. We were home. This made everything much less scary and confusing.
But the older we got, the more we learned about the world and ourselves. We learned that the twinkling lights are not shining beautifully for us, they just are.
We learned that we're not at the center of what we now call the universe, and that it is much, much older than we thought.
We learned that we're made of many little dead things, which make up bigger things that are not dead, for some reason, and that we're just another temporary stage in a history going back over a billion years.
We learned, in awe, that we live on a moist speck of dust moving around a medium-sized star in a quiet region of one arm of an average galaxy, which is part of a galaxy group that we will never leave. And this group is only one of thousands that, together, make up a galaxy supercluster. But even our supercluster is only one in thousands that make up what we call the observable universe.
The universe might be a million times bigger, but we will never know. We can throw words around like two hundred million galaxies or trillions of stars or bazillions of planets, but all of these numbers mean nothing. Our brains can't comprehend these concepts. The universe is too big. There is too much of it.
But size is not the most troubling concept we have to deal with. It's time, or, more precisely, the time we have.
If you're lucky enough to live to one hundred, you have five thousand two hundred weeks at your disposal. If you're twenty-five now, then you have three thousand nine hundred weeks left. If you're going to die at seventy, then there are two thousand three hundred and forty weeks left - a lot of time, but also ... not really.
And then what? Your biological processes will break down, and the dynamic pattern that is you will stop being dynamic. It will dissolve until there is no you left. Some believe that there is a part of us we can't see or measure, but we have no way to find out, so this life might be it and we might end up dead forever.
This is less scary than it sounds, though. If you don't remember the 13.75 billion years that went by before you existed, then the trillions and trillions and trillions of years that come after will pass in no time once you're gone.
Close your eyes. Count to 1. That's how long forever feels. And as far as we know, in the end, the universe itself will die and nothing will ever change again.
Our videos induce existential dread in many people, and the last few minutes probably haven't helped. So, for once, we want to offer a different way of looking at these things: an unscientific, subjective point of view, the philosophy of Kurzgesagt, if you want. Please take it with a grain of salt; we don't know any more about human existence than you do.
We counter existential dread with optimistic nihilism.
What do we mean by that? Well, to summarize, it seems very unlikely that 200 trillion, trillion stars have been made for us. In a way, it feels like the cruelest joke in existence has been played on us. We became self-aware only to realize this story is not about us.
While it is great to know about electrons and the powerhouse of the cell, Science doesn't do a lot to make this less depressing. Okay, but so what? You only get one shot at life, which is scary, but it also sets you free. If the universe ends in heat death, every humiliation you suffer in your life will be forgotten. Every mistake you made will not matter in the end. Every bad thing you did will be voided.
If our life is all we get to experience, then it's the only thing that matters. If the universe has no principles, the only principles relevant are the ones we decide on. If the universe has no purpose, then we get to dictate what its purpose is.
Humans will most certainly cease to exist at some point, but before we do, we get to explore ourselves and the world around us. We get to experience feelings. We get to experience food, books, sunrises, and being with each other.
The fact that we're even able to think about these things is already kind of incredible.
It's easy to think of ourselves as separated from everything, but this is not true. We are as much the universe as a neutron star or a black hole or a nebula. Even better, actually, we are its thinking and feeling part: the centre organs of the universe.
We are truly free in a universe-sized playground, so we might as well aim to be happy and to build some kind of utopia in the stars.
It's not as if we've found out everything there is to know We don't know why the rules of the universe are as they are, how life came into existence, what life is.
We have no idea what consciousness is or if we are alone in the universe. But we can try to find some answers.
There are billions of stars to visit, diseases to cure, people to help, happy feelings to be experienced, and video games to finish. There is so much to do.
So, wrapping up, you've probably used up a good chunk of the time available to you. If this is our one shot at life, there is no reason not to have fun and live as happy as possible.
Bonus points if you made the life of other people better. More bonus points if you help build a galactic human empire.
Do the things that make you feel good. You get to decide whatever this means for you.
