- EOS native’s stablecoin market cap has gradually decreased over the past year; however, it still ranks 21st among all chains at $59 million. This figure is entirely composed of USDT. EOS is one of thirteen networks natively supported by Tether. There are also some EOS native stablecoins, namely USN, which are not included in this data. USN is an overcollateralized stablecoin generated through staking various tokens on Defibox. At the end of the quarter, USN’s market cap was just over null million.
- New addresses decreased 38% QoQ to an average daily figure of 1,300. Daily new addresses dropped rather suddenly from May 13 to May 14. From the start of the quarter through May 13, there was an average of 2,100 daily new addresses. From May 14 to the end of the quarter, the figure decreased to 580. It’s unclear exactly what drove this sharp decrease in address growth.

- Primer on EOS
*EOS is a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) Layer-1 blockchain built using the open-source Antelope protocol. EOS’s founding team Block.one raised around $4.1 billion in a 2017-18 ICO but slowly stopped supporting the network through core development and ecosystem funding. A community-led effort driven by the non-profit EOS Network Foundation ensued to take over ownership of the project to prevent further decay of the protocol codebase and the EOS ecosystem. The grassroots effort has driven several technical upgrades, including an IBC implementation, EVM solution, and new consensus mechanism (estimated Q4’23 launch). For a full primer on EOS, refer to our Initiation of Coverage report.*
- Interoperability: Prism
Prism is a bridge that launched in Q1’22. It connects the UTXO and EVM chains, allowing users to benefit from the EVM-compatible programmability of the EVM chain and the privacy of the UTXO chain. The bridge operates via a mint-and-burn mechanism. Because the two chains share the same set of validators, bridging between the two only requires trusting the single validator set. Furthermore, bridge transfers are bundled in a single transaction, where either the entire transfer process is executed or none of it is (i.e., it’s atomic).
The bridge recently upgraded to Prism++, allowing any FRC-20, FRC-721, and FRC-1155 (equivalent to their ERC counterparts) to be transferred. Before mainnet launch, Prism++ launched on Findora’s testnet in March 2023, with $10,000 in prizes for testnet users.

- Its upcoming technological improvements target enterprise and institutional use cases by offering privacy while ensuring auditability. The proposed solutions include a new auditable token standard and a zero-knowledge-based decentralized identity feature.
- Although obtaining off-chain reserve data is not fully trustless, Chainlink PoR has the potential to be the most robust mechanism for verifying on-chain reserves and delivering off-chain data on-chain in a decentralized, secure, and cryptographically verifiable way.

- Crypto’s Largest Exploit
The Ronin Network is an EVM-compatible blockchain launched by Sky Mavis (the Axie Infinity creators) to serve gaming applications. To date, the hack on the Ronin Network bridge was the largest, accounting for ~$624 million in losses (173,600 ETH and 25.5 million USDC). It took the Ronin team six days to discover the amount drained from its bridge thanks to a report from a user that was unable to withdraw 5,000 ETH from the bridge.
- DeFi
Compromised bridges affect the bridge users and any protocol that has adopted the wrapped asset. Large exploits could lead to a DeFi protocol’s insolvency and loss of funds for users and the protocol.

- To ensure updates remain cost-efficient, Chainlink’s oracle network checks reserves off-chain regularly and performs on-chain updates when the balances change over a certain threshold. Hence, **it makes updates when reserves are volatile and saves on gas costs when reserves are stable.**Introduction

- Balancer's new Boosted Aave Pools are live! 👻 🤝 @balancerprotocol.lens
Balancer has just released new Boosted Pools built on Aave V3 markets, showcasing that DeFi is built on the principle of composability. Aave V3 is the most significant upgrade to the Aave Protocol, securing billions of dollars in permissionless smart contracts.
Teams can build with bb-a-USD by using it as the base pair on Balancer to build new innovative pools and financial dApps. By building with the Aave Boosted Pools, integrators inherit the high-security standard built into the Aave Protocol.

- What is a Territory on t2?🤔
Territories are decentralised article clubs. 📗 As repositories of content, these house the different on-chain articles that you can read grouped according to a specific topic. When you join a territory, you can read all the content you want, and get recognised with Time Points for the time you spend reading.
At the same time, territories are also living reader-writer communities. 🌱 Not only can you read everything within it. Eventually, you’ll be able to engage with writers and your fellow readers, suggest articles, pitch ideas or sub-territories (aka Spaces), and more.
