- I'm a Frontend Engineer at Reimagined Finance and am working here since January. While searching for the job, I've given interviews with a lot of companies (some of them are leading web3 companies as well).
So, I'd like to summarise my interview experience for the position of frontend engg and share it with y'all.
Most of the companies are using the Nextjs framework for their frontend and mainly Chakra or tailwind as their css libs. So, it is good to have detailed knowledge as well as experience with Nextjs and at least one CSS lib.
Nowadays, almost all companies are using typescript. So it has become necessary to have experience with that as well. Experience with libraries like etherjs, Hardhat and Solidity would be a bonus.
Also, OSS contributions matter a lot. If you've worked on some good OSS projects, then it creates a good impression before the interviewer.
What I've experienced is that OSS contributions matter more than personal projects unless you've built any such project which is extremely different and unique. If you've published any UI lib, then it'd be like a cherry on top.
Also, I'd like to encourage building in public. By doing that, all the people would be aware of what you're working on and in a way, your proof of work would be open.
