**$FRIES: A Feminist Critique on the Blockchain**
When I entered the NFT space as an artist in 2021, I wanted to challenge the bro culture that dominates the crypto scene.
So, at one point I started creating hand-painted PFPs of **not-so-cute girly girls**. These girlies are anything but your typical definition of pretty. They have long hair, dark circles under their eyes, and a rebellious spirit. They smoke cigarettes and weed, cause why not!
My girly girls wear t-shirts with **"fries before guys"** or "**in it for the fries."** Whenever I minted one of these unique artworks on the blockchain, I complemented it with a short story capturing the character's mood.
- I wanted to break the rules, and create something that would go against projects like "World of Women," which only showcased conventional beauty standards.
- My girly girls were different. They were actually **the anti World of Women.**
With time, my work evolved and I started creating more **meme-like artworks using AI**, mostly with Midjourney and DALLE.
I create these girly girls who **may seem sad, but they hold so much power**. They break hearts and get their hearts broken, all while staying true to their love for boys and fries. One thing's for sure—**they'll always choose fries over boys! 🍟💔**
My art is a critique of the crypto world, a feminist statement that's a performance on the blockchain.

Okay besties, so picture this:
It's 2022, and I was scrolling through CT, tired of all these bros claiming they're in it for the culture and art. Let's be real, they're just craving that sweet moolah! 💰 sheeeesshhhhhhh
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all about that money too. It's essential for survival and a comfy life. But hey, can we just be honest about our motivations for a sec?
That's when I started making jokes about being in ***it for the fries***, and next thing you know, **"Fries before guys" became my motto!** It just made so much sense, you know?
I've been obsessed with fries since I was old enough to eat them lmao, and **my art is all about feminist vibes and not-so-cute girly girls.** *Think meme culture meets girly trash with a dash of melancholic aesthetics.*
In a crypto space dominated by dudes, **I wanted to carve out my own path as a girl boss**, showing that **you don't need a bro cap on your head to be relevant in the web3 world**. Whether you're a collector, an artist, or an entrepreneur, you can slay it just as fiercely and rock your femininity at the same time!
Suddenly, people started sliding into my DMs and tagging me on Twitter, **showering me with fry pics**!
and before I knew it… **I unintentionally built a full-on fries brand!** 🍟 which is now @jessyfries.lens
