- This interview is a must watch. While I've always admired Josh, I believe this wasn't his finest moment, particularly in his interaction with Alex regarding Musically and its potential.

Looking back, it's clear that Alex's groundwork with Musically paved the way for TikTok.... Sad to see how he was judged in this interview because he didnt fit the mould.
One important takeaway here is the danger of jumping to conclusions or letting biases or group think cloud our judgment. This is prevalent in Silicon Valley, and it's perhaps one reason why we haven't seen any groundbreaking social apps emerge from there in recent years, apart from Snapchat. Too stuck in old ways.
Building a successful social platform let alone protocol is incredibly challenging because it involves understanding human behavior on a deep, qualitative level rather than just focusing on numbers and metrics.
While it might seem tempting to follow the crowd, true innovation comes from charting your own course and surprising everyone with something truly original.
