- Bitcoin Ordinals: An intriguing concept that assigns unique serial numbers to individual units of bitcoin, called satoshis. In this post, I'll explain what Ordinals are, how they work, and their impact on the world of digital artefacts and NFTs. #Bitcoin #Ordinals
What are Ordinals? Ordinals are like serial numbers for satoshis, which are the smallest parts of a bitcoin. They allow us to track and identify each satoshi as it moves through transactions. Every satoshi has a distinct ordinal number associated with it. #OrdinalTheory
No Changes Needed: The fascinating thing about Ordinal Theory is that it works right now without requiring any changes to Bitcoin itself. It uses the existing Bitcoin infrastructure to assign and track these unique identifiers.
The Power of Ordinals: Ordinal Theory opens up exciting possibilities for collecting, trading, and creating digital artefacts. With unique serial numbers, satoshis can be individually tracked and traded as unique items, while allowing arbitrary content to be attached to them.

Transaction Process: When transactions happen, satoshis move from inputs to outputs. Ordinal Theory uses a simple algorithm where satoshis are transferred in a first-in-first-out manner. Each input satoshi is assigned to the first available output, preserving the order.
Digging Deeper: If you want to explore the details of Bitcoin Ordinals further, check out the ordinal theory handbook with info on sat hunting, inscribing and more: https://docs.ordinals.com/introduction.html #BitcoinOrdinals
Ordinal Inscriptions: An exciting aspect of Ordinal Theory is the ability to attach custom content to individual satoshis, creating bitcoin-native digital artefacts. These inscriptions are similar to NFTs but offer unique advantages. Let's explore those. #OrdinalInscriptions
Inscriptions vs Ethereum NFTs: Ordinal Inscriptions have advantages over Ethereum NFTs. They are always unchangeable (immutable), ensuring content remains the same. Inscriptions store content ON the blockchain, making it durable and not relying on external storage platforms.
To wrap up, Ordinal Theory simplifies the process of tracking and trading satoshis while leveraging the security of the Bitcoin network. It provides new opportunities for digital artefacts and adds another layer of innovation to the crypto space.
Hopefully this provides a good overview of what Ordinals are in the context of Bitcoin and NFTs. If you like what you've read consider collecting 🙏🏾

- Kinda wish more meme or shtcoins would frame their value as "tokenised goodwill". This is essentially what community tokens, social tokens or fan tokens are and framing them this was moves things away from monetary value (and sentiment like "bagholding" and "pump and dump" which are ultimately a PvP game) to a more wholistic and healthier value on community.
- My happy place ❤️
The world can feel so big when you've been glued to a monitor for days.
- The greatest utility for NFTs is more NFTs..... yes or no??
- Had a bit of an existential crisis...
Decided to get a bot 😅
Seems pointless arguing the pros and cons while getting left in the wake of what seems inevitable. Any thoughts Lenster??
- Having the most incredible time trading on #SOL ❤️. In part to play on another chain but mostly to find my forever #y00t.
You might have noticed I've changed my PFP a few times over the past few days? U probably don't give a sht, but in case you have it's 100% by virtue of the fact that they're all so good 🚀
- Ran a poll on Twitter (can I say that word here 🤭) a week or two ago and curious what the sentiment is here...
Community first or PFP first???
The vast majority of project drop a PFP, grab the cash and attempt to bootstrap community (Cue train wreck)... Reddit just launched Avatars (essentially PFPs) and, up until now, have been entirely community focused. Made me think... Which is the stronger model??
Thoughts?

Anyone out there 👀??
