I remember during the last bull market, I sent a transaction to the Optimism network (from Ethereum), and it cost me $30, which seemed like a small amount back then.
Also, keep in mind that high gas fees in Ethereum will lead to increased transaction costs in all L2 networks (#Optimism, #Arbitrum, #zkSync, #Linea, #Scroll, #ZORA). In those networks, a regular transaction will cost around $2 during normal times.
