- Here's a brief summary of the development history of Ethereum:
**2013:** The concept of Ethereum was first proposed by Vitalik Buterin. He believed that Bitcoin needed a scripting language for application development and proposed a new platform concept, which is Ethereum.
**2014:** Vitalik Buterin and several partners created the Ethereum Foundation and began the development of Ethereum. In the second half of this year, they raised development funds through a public crowdfunding campaign.
**2015:** The first version of Ethereum, "Frontier," was released. This was a basic version for developers, who could start developing and running applications on Ethereum.
**2016:** The second version of Ethereum, "Homestead," was released. This version made some important improvements to Ethereum, making it more stable. However, this year also saw the "DAO Attack," a major attack on Ethereum that resulted in a large amount of Ether being stolen. This event eventually led to a split in Ethereum, resulting in two versions: Ethereum (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC).
**2017:** The value of Ethereum began to grow significantly, attracting a lot of attention and investment. At the same time, many new projects and applications began to be developed on Ethereum, including many Initial Coin Offering (ICO) projects.
**2018:** Ethereum began to face scalability issues as its network became increasingly congested and transaction fees began to rise. To solve this problem, Ethereum began researching various scalability solutions, including sharding and Plasma.
**2020:** The development work for Ethereum 2.0 began, which is a major upgrade aimed at significantly improving Ethereum's scalability and security. The first phase of Ethereum 2.0, also known as "Phase 0," was launched at the end of 2020.
**2021:** Ethereum continued the development work for 2.0, while also making some important improvements on the existing Ethereum 1.0 network, including the EIP-1559 change, which altered the structure of transaction fees on Ethereum.

Today I have made an important decision in my life 📢
I quit my job today and going to focus full-time on maintaining the first-ever open-source frontend @lenster.lens 🌸 powered by @lensprotocol 🌿.
Building social media was my dream since 10th grade, I built more than 4 social media in public but all failed, Lenster is my 5th one and it’s going crazy ⚡️.
I believe building in public is key 🔑 to the success of a product.
We have a lot of items queued up in the roadmap, be excited about it 🕺
**Collect this post for 2 WMATIC and support Lenster’s development 🙏**
