- We're at the dawn of the as a service model in blockchains:
Validation as a service (Eigenlayer)
Data Availability as a Service (Celestia, EigenDA)
Sequencing as a service (Espresso)
Rollups as a service (Conduit, Altlayer)
...
Welcome to the super modular world of blockchains where all components are available as a service.
- Two things I suspect will happen in the layer 2 space in the coming months:
1) The Polygon zkEVM chain will pivot and decide to post and make their data available on Ethereum mainnet instead of a separate DA layer as originally planned
2) OP Mainnet will implement validity proofs instead of fraud proofs with an IVG as originally planned

- In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the fate of innovation should not be dictated by a single entity. Instead, it is imperative that we embrace a principle of neutrality, where governments refrain from imposing their biases and allow the natural course of progress to unfold. Let us champion a world where the potential of every technology, untethered by external influence, can flourish and empower us all.
**It is not up to governments to decide on a technology's fate - it should be technology neutral.**

- At the American government's insistence, JP Morgan Chase acquired the failed First Republic Bank, even though the former already had a 10% market share. Generally, such a move would have violated regulations prohibiting further bank acquisitions. However, regulators made an exception in this instance. **This is concerning because if the government can selectively disregard or enforce regulations based on its interests, it undermines the integrity of the justice system**. Typically, it is the government rescuing the bank, though in this case you could be wondering if it has not become the other way around. If banks weren’t too big too fail already…
- Eigenlayer makes so much sense and is such an evident idea - although wasn't executed on until now. One of the biggest hassle is spinning up nodes for security - hence why Layer 2s are so popular. But other apps (oracles, bridges etc.) might want to leverage Ethereum security and that's where Eigenlayer comes in. **Eigenlayer just launched the VaaS (Validation as a Service) business.** This will kickstart a lot of things.

- **On eth staking**: you have various ways to stake your ETH and contribute to the security of the ethereum blockchain. However how you stake will have a different impact on the added security and overall health of the network:
It is a spectrum ranging from contributing most (solo staking) to least (centralised custodial solution like Coinbase or with an actor having a big share of the network like Lido).
What is concerning is that **the incentives have been distorted** since some time now and it's only getting worse. Lido's steth has become a very liquid token that can be used in defi and on which you can easily generate additional value. So despite the the 10% fee paid to Lido you can easily offset that by putting your steth to work - I know you are taking on greater risks but still. With the Atlas upgrade from Rocket Pool this distortion is only getting bigger; you can now spin-up mini-pools with only 8 ETH and you will be able to increase your yield drastically as you will collect fees from the ETH that has been staked by other participants in your minipool.
Bottom-line: few people will still opt for solo-staking as the incentive to do so is meager (mostly idealistic people) compared to other alternatives. I'm a decentralisation maxi but even for me the choice isn't as evident as it used to be.
A potential solution could be to **emit an LST to solo stakers**...something to consider?

- The zk scaling design space is balancing compatibility with performance and making trade-offs between security (trust assumptions) and decentralisation (prover requirements). It's a spectrum and it is great to have actors scattered along that spectrum.

- Lens Protocol is open, anyone who has a profile can have permissionless access regardless of what application they are using. We believe in supporting content creators and followers who create an engaging environment for everyone.
Some applications use gasless and signless transactions, and we have now introduced eligibility requirements for these features.
While everyone is eligible by default, accounts with low-signal engagement will not be eligible. You can read more about our requirements here. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/gasless#eligibility-requirements
We are also testing filtering low-signal notifications for a better user experience. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/users-notifications#api-details
At Lens, we believe that Web3 social should create a better experience than before, by using blockchain technology. We are always experimenting with ways to better our user experience by filtering low-signal profiles and bots. Let’s keep experimenting, our DMs are open for feedback 🧪
