Looking for farming alpha

- CPI, FOMC minutes and Shanghai upgrade all in one day.
Send $ARB to $0.5 to I can make life changing money with shekles
- Lesson from the ARB airdrop: Polymarket is a form of ALPHA.
Prior to the announcement of Arbitrum's token launch, there was a noticeable surge in trading volume and bets indicating a positive outcome on the Polymarket market for the "$ARB launch by March 31st". Several traders speculated that this could be attributed to insider trading, seems they were correct.
- Historically, airdropped tokens ie Blur and Aptos peaked 3-5 days after launch. Will be looking to offload then. I think if ARB goes to null-2 people will be euphoric. Hard to imagine, but with such a small float... who knows
- At what point does teasing an airdrop become fraud and misleading investors?
- Scanning the new UK budget; tldr:
There is no budget. Good luck everyone
- FED latest move is in no way unofficial QE. Solved banks duration risk, banks might be inclined to take more risk and improves liquidity, but does it actually represent more M2? Don't think so.
Don't let CT influencers fool you, we are NOT in a risk on environment!
- The KAVA ecosystem has some juicy new yields. Capital rotating to the profitable farms.
Farming begins while $BTC in a downtrend
- Vitalik published a new article on what excites him the most in the ETH ecosystem right now
Here’s what he said:
1. Money
Crypto offers several advantages in wealthy countries:
- Safety against de-platforming
- More convenient to make donations
- Represent private money in a cashless society
1.1 Stablecoins
Stablecoins issued on-chain have many convenient properties:
- Open for use by anyone
- Resistant to censorship
- Interact well with on-chain infrastructure (accounts, DEXes, etc).
1.2 The 3 stablecoins categories:
- Centralized stablecoins
- DAO-governed real-world-asset backed stablecoins
- Governance-minimized crypto-backed stablecoins
1.3 The tradeoff
- USDC works but stability depends on the macroeconomic and political stability of the US.
- RAI can survive all of these risks, but it has a negative interest rate
- DAO-governed RWA-backed stablecoins could work as a happy medium if it combines:
a. Scalability
b. Robustness
c. Economic practicality
d. Censorship resistance
2. Defi
Decentralized stablecoins are the most important DeFi product, but there are a few others that have an important niche:
- Prediction markets
- Major stock indices and real estate
- Layers for efficiently trading between other assets
3. Digital Identity
Identity examples include:
- Names
- Attestations
- Proof of personhood
- Basic authentication
An attempt to create a centralized platform to achieve all of these tasks from scratch won't work.
3.1 What solutions combine privacy and scalability?
- Privacy: Combining on-chain and off-chain info and use ZK-SNARKs
- Scalability: Rollups and validiums
4. DAOs
There are two questions to answer:
A) What kinds of governance structures make sense, and for what use cases?
B) Does it make sense to implement those structures as a DAO, or through regular incorporation and legal contracts?
Image
4.1 Decentralization for robustness
A decentralized governance structure protects against attackers on the inside
Decentralized implementation protects against powerful attackers on the outside ("censorship resistance").
Two possible directions include:
- Decisions need to be passed not just by token holders but also by some other class of user
- Intentional friction, making it so that certain kinds of decisions can only take effect after a delay
4.2 Decentralization for efficiency
Governance decentralized for efficiency preserves the ability to act rapidly but tries to move decisions away from the top.
Pros and Cons:
- Not good for large-scale projects in the same wealthy country.
- Good for very small-scale projects, highly internationalized projects, and projects located in countries with inefficient institutions and weak rule of law.
4.3 Decentralization for interoperability
It's easier and more secure for on-chain things to interact with other on-chain things than with off-chain systems that would inevitably require an (attackable) bridge layer.
5. Hybrid applications
There are hybrid applications that take advantage of both blockchains and other systems to improve their trust models.
- Voting
- Government registries
- Corporate accounting
- Games
- Supply chain applications
- Tracking access authorization
5.1 Challenges ahead
- Blockchains are not scalable
- Transactions take a long time to get on-chain
- Wallets are either non-user-friendly or unsafe
5.2 Solutions
- Decentralized solutions to holding funds
- ERC-4337 and account abstraction wallets
- Rollup technology to solve scalability
- Any good Trading-as-a-Service DAOs anyone knows of? @DigitsDao comes to mind.. any others?
- Bera chain is taking shape with a lot of new updates inbound.
The final Bera rebase is imminent giving all current holders more Bera's.
The release of honey jar, giving holders access to airdrops and privileges.
Access to airdrops of Bera tokens on bera chain.
It begs the question.. What is the value of these NFTs?
- Everyone will front run the selling of $MATIC ecosystem tokens. Looking to sell 1-2 weeks before the ZK date.
- Interesting to see if we get a bounce on $BTC here. Could be pivotal
- I understand the hype around the shiny, new perpetual dex on arbitrum $VELA. I think there is money to be made.
However, long-term I don't think there is enough yield/utility for the $VELA token to rival GMX/GNS.
$GMX provides extra yield for staking tokens for a period of time in the form of 'Multiplier Points'.
$VELA provides a GMX size yield for staked eVELA, which is illiquid and needs to be vested over a year before it can be sold. There is no bonus for staking $VELA for a period of time apart from a 5% yield.
Could see a scenario where $VELA is dumped as soon as $VELA vests over a year. I can't see where the additional demand for $VELA comes from to increase the price to a $GMX market cap.
In the worst case $VELA could turn into a farming token and could be slowly dumped.
Ultimately, I can't see $VELA steal massive market share from GMX/GNS.
Still love the yield on $VLP 🙂
