- Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) is the runtime environment for smart contracts in the Ethereum network. It is a virtual machine that runs on all the nodes in the Ethereum network and executes smart contracts written in Solidity or other programming languages supported by the Ethereum network.
The EVM is responsible for executing smart contracts by interpreting the bytecode generated by compiling the smart contract code. Every transaction on the Ethereum network involves executing a set of operations defined in the smart contract code, which are verified and executed by the EVM.
The EVM also ensures that all nodes in the network have the same execution results, making Ethereum a trustless and decentralized platform for executing smart contracts.
As the EVM is a virtual machine, it provides a sandboxed environment for executing smart contracts, ensuring that they cannot interfere with the Ethereum network or other smart contracts.
Overall, the EVM plays a critical role in the functioning of the Ethereum network and allows developers to build decentralized applications on top of it.

- We're proud to introduce Lens Improvement Proposals (LIPs). This open, collaborative process will guide the future development of Lens Protocol.
Taking inspiration from the successful Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) and Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs), LIPs takes a step towards decentralized governance. The LIPs process will foster an inclusive, transparent and collaborative environment.
You will find how to participate in LIPs in the Lens Protocol’s GitHub repository, which streamlines the community participation process. It gives anyone the chance to submit proposals, and promotes open discussion.
Let's dive into the first three proposals that are live today:
LIP-0: Establishing an Open Governance Model. A process where the Lens community can propose improvements to Lens Protocol. From the submission of proposals to transparent discussions — we aim to foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive decision-making governance model.
LIP-1: Open Standards for Algorithms. A proposal to establish open standards for algorithms — based on the open Lens data layer — that will encourage the development of third-party algorithms, diverse experiences and provide user choice.
LIP-2: Open Standards for Metadata. An initiative to establish metadata standards for Lens Protocol, promoting transparency, interoperability, and user empowerment.
Take a deep dive into LIPs in our latest blog: https://mirror.xyz/lensprotocol.eth/8uxN9fMYBOqyDW5yZ6O3DDdOLEv1jJtxcw9qk4c4wgM
LIPs are our next step in enabling community involvement in shaping Lens Protocol's future.

- Introducing the Lens SDK – your new go-to toolkit to create powerful experiences & applications for the social layer of Web3.
Developers rejoice! We have lowered the barrier to entry and made it easier than ever to create innovative, powerful, and engaging Lens apps and experiences. With the new Lens SDK you can plug into the Web3 social layer with just 10 lines of code.
Pick and choose the features you want - only the components you use contribute to the final size of your app bundles. These capabilities are all handled by the Lens SDK, allowing developers to focus on their core features.
The SDK is modular and composable. It seamlessly integrates with other Web3 projects, protocols, and tools such as @litprotocol.lens to enable token-gated publications.
Mobile apps have been some of the biggest success stories on Lens. The new SDK doubles down on mobile support, starting with React Native. With the SDK, you can build polished mobile apps without underlying knowledge of the Lens API or Lens Protocol.
Come build the future on the social layer of Web3.

@youfolio.lens Explained by @danisnearby.lens
Tired of the same old ways of collecting? Youfolio.lens by Lensport.lens is the perfect solution for you! It's an innovative way to add value to your collection of posts and enhance your social media experience.
Here's how it works:
Step 1: Sign Up
Signing up for Youfolio.io is a breeze! All you need is a handle and wallet to connect to the website, just like any other Lens app. Once you've signed up, you'll be ready to start browsing the extensive collection of creators and their "Creator Tokens."
Step 2: Token Wrapping
Browse through the "Tokens" of creators and find a post that you want to wrap. You can use the "Show Only My Items" feature to display only the items you own. If you don't own any posts that qualify for collector tokens (the first NFT minted from a post), you can try collecting one or buying it instead.
Step 3: Make an Offer
With a collectional offer, you can make an offer on any post. However, it's best to find one you like to avoid disappointment. So take your time and browse through the collections until you find the perfect post.
Step 4: Wrap Your NFTs
Once you've added the post to your collection, it's time to wrap your NFTs. Wrapping your NFTs is easy. Simply click the "Wrap" button, confirm two transactions allowing NFT spend and sending the NFT, and your post will be sent to a Youfolio contract. You will then receive a wrapped NFT that you can sell and get voting power in the DAO.
Step 5: Join the Creators DAO
The Creators DAOs are hosted on top of tally.xyz and are used to make decisions about the Youfolio DAO. By joining the Creators DAO, you can shape the future of the Youfolio <creatorname> DAO and influence how it grows and evolves.
In summary, Youfolio.lens is a new way to understand post collection that allows you to add value to your collection and get more out of your social media experience.

- **Guide to Polygon NFTs**
With a string of a-list partners and an ever-expanding ecosystem, Polygon is a network that’s worth paying attention to. However, Polygon NFTs are relatively lesser-known, perhaps because many wallets don’t fully support them.
In this post, we explore Polygon NFT marketplaces and top NFT collections.
📈 **Polygon NFT marketplaces**
Many NFT marketplaces support Polygon — below are the leading ones in terms of volume.
**1. OpenSea**
The best-known NFT marketplace, @opensea.lens added Polygon in August 2022. Despite lots of competition, OpenSea has the largest trading volumes for Polygon NFTs.
Besides trading, OpenSea also lets anyone easily create Polygon NFTs with “lazy minting”. With this method, no gas is paid until the NFT is sold.
**2. MagicEden**
Originally focused on Solana, MagicEden has grown into a cross-chain NFT giant. The marketplace added support for Polygon in November 2022.
MagicEden also has lots of tools to help creators successfully sell NFTs. This includes whitelists, launchpads, and auctions. This isn’t open to all, and there is a vetting process for creators to ensure quality.
**3. Dew**
Currently in invite-only, Dew.gg is a dedicated Polygon NFT marketplace aggregator tailored for pro traders on the Polygon network. Despite still not being fully open, Dew has been steadily gaining trading volumes.
Dew offers features that help traders, such as fast listing updates, floor sweeping, and advanced charts. To get access to Dew, you need an invite from one of the existing users (each user gets 5 invites).
🔍 **Polygon NFT collections**
While Polygon has lots of run-of-the-mill PFP collections, it’s also home to some of the most interesting NFT experiments.
**1. Y00ts**
Launched in September 2022 on Solana, y00ts is a generative art project with 15,000 NFTs.
The project made headlines when De Labs, the company behind y00ts, got a $3 million grant from Polygon to move the collection from Solana to the Polygon blockchain. The transfer started in March, and now over 12k NFTs are on Polygon. With a 2 ETH floor, it’s currently the top collection on Polygon.
**2. Lens profiles**
@lensprotocol handles are a hot commodity — still, only whitelisted addresses can mint the handle.
While mining is free, the floor price is over $200. The total volume traded is over 4.2 million MATIC, according to MagicEden.
Collected Lens posts are also Polygon NFTs. However, a different collection is created for each post. So the market is somewhat fragmented and posts rarely feature in the lists of trending NFTs.
**3. Reddit Collectible Avatars**
Reddit chose the Polygon blockchain to launch the sale of their collective avatars. Reddit sold over 10 *million* NFTs with a total market cap exceeding $75 million.
Recently, Reddit launched the second wave of avatars from 100 different artists. Each artist has a separate NFT collection.
**4. Sandbox land NFTs**
In November 2022, Sandbox, the popular metaverse and gaming platform, started to sell their digital land as Polygon NFTs, moving on from Ethereum.
Most Sanbox land plots are now traded on Polygon with a total volume of over 6.2 million MATIC. The land isn’t cheap: the average price is over 1,000 MATIC.
**5. Unstoppable Domains**
Similar to ENS, Unstoppable Domains offer domain names as NFTs. Unlike ENS, these NFTs live on the Polygon blockchain.
There are over 3 million domain NFTs. So the floor price is extremely low. However, shorter and more memorable domains could be valuable.
**6. Galxe OAT2**
Galxe OAT (On-chain Achievement Token) are free NFTs issued for taking parts in various campaigns on Galxe. Over 9 million OATs were issued.
While OATs are minted for free, some people buy them. Perhaps they expect to qualify for some whitelisted, allowlists, or other on-chain opportunities.
**7. Gaming NFTs**
Polygon is the network of choice for many blockchain games. Some of those games use NFTs to represent characters and items in the games.
Game NFTs are often even more volatile than other collections. That’s because the value of NFTs can depend on the in-game mechanics (which can change). Games can also quickly go viral and can fall out of favor just as fast.
To find interesting game NFTs on Polygon, you can simply filter collections on OpenSea. MagicEden also has a dedicated Games tab, which features various blockchain games.
👀 **How to view your Polygon NFTs**
Not every crypto wallet adequately displays Polygon NFTs.
However, Zerion Wallet fully supports the Polygon blockchain, including NFTs. You can easily import your existing wallet via a seed phrase or private key.
When you mint or buy NFTs, you can see them in your transaction history. After that, the NFT will show up in a dedicated part of the portfolio that tracks NFTs across all chains.
Alternatively, you can connect your existing wallet to the Zerion web app and see all your Polygon NFTs.

- ■$30K → $28K Plunges Bitcoin, Pause Retreats vs Bearish Market 'Division'■
#Increase of burden factors such as regulation due to accumulation of upward fatigue
Bitcoin, which surpassed the $30,000 mark last week, seems to be at a crossroads over the short-term direction after its recent plunge to $28,000.
According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin is trading at USD 28,347.56, down 1.94% from 24 hours ago as of 1:08 p.m. Korean time on the 21st.
At the same time, the price of Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest market cap, is trading at USD 1946.81, down 0.42% from 24 hours ago.
◆ 75% Rally 'Tired' Since New Year
Barron's, an investment media outlet, pointed out on the 20th (local time) that it does not seem easy to maintain $30,000 amid the second day of the decline in the coin market, including Bitcoin.
Despite the recent retreat, Bitcoin has risen about 75% since the beginning of the year, and it is pointed out that fatigue has accumulated as it has continued to rally even when the New York stock market has been fluctuating.
"There are clear signs of fatigue about the (sharp) increase in global cryptocurrency market cap," Oanda Securities analyst Edward Moya said, adding that now may be the right time to exit the market when price adjustments appear.
Moya added, "If downward pressure persists, the price must reach the $28,550 level to receive support." However, after the comment was made, the price has been pushed below the support level.
At a time when macroeconomic uncertainties such as high inflation, interest rates, and recession risks still remain, Tesla's stock price fell 10% last night, putting pressure on Bitcoin prices, which had been highly correlated with technology stocks.
Barrence stressed that as prices have risen by about 75% since the beginning of the year, some profit-taking is also coming out.
The fact that more than $25 million in bitcoin futures were liquidated and long squeeze appeared on the previous day was also cited as the background for increasing the speed of Bitcoin's decline. Long squeeze refers to a situation in which investors who held "long positions" in anticipation of future gains in the futures market sell to reduce losses in the bear market.
"If the price of Bitcoin remains above $28,000, a very strong (strong) atmosphere can be created," said Alex Kuptsekevich, an Fx Pro analyst. "However, if there is a complete adjustment, the price will be pushed back to the 50-day moving average of $26,700."
◆ Optimism Remains Amid Short-Term Bad News, including Regulations
Bitcoin, which showed a strong trend despite the banking crisis last month, was expected to rise in price when it exceeded $30,000 last week.
However, after the recent plunge, the sense of caution for retreat has increased rather than further increases.
Regulatory risks have risen to the surface as the European Union passed a comprehensive bill to regulate cryptocurrency last night, and concerns are rising that it will not be easy to resume the rally for the time being as unfavorable factors such as the Federal Reserve's tightening burden continue.
According to Bloomberg News the previous day, the EU Parliament passed the MiCA bill, a coin regulation package, and also passed a separate bill that requires coin companies to identify customers to prevent money laundering.
The legislation by the European Parliament drew attention as it was the first legislation in the world to regulate the coin industry ahead of the United States and the United Kingdom.
However, Fortune magazine said that despite short-term volatility, experts still believe that Bitcoin will eventually head upwards.
Alliance Bernstein analyst Guatam Choudani said, "Bitcoin has never fallen for two consecutive years," adding that he is optimistic about the mid- to long-term outlook.
However, Chugany said that a hot rally with Bitcoin prices approaching $70,000 as in 2021 is difficult right now, and that "regulation is still an obstacle."
"We are not sure if the crypto winter is completely over, but bitcoin network activity suggests that network fees are on a solid upward trend," said analysts at Bitfinex Alpha
