- **Ethscriptions Update: Tokens, Splitting, Dumb Contracts, and You!**
With Dumb Contracts approaching, @0xhirsch and I wanted to share something we’re extremely excited about in the world of Ethscriptions Tokens!
(Note: there will be a Q&A about this update tomorrow. Before reading on, take a moment to set a reminder: https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1rmGPkvrgqyKN…)
**What are Ethscriptions Tokens?**
Inspired by Bitcoin inscriptions, tokens have become a huge part of the Ethscriptions ecosystem as well. Here is an example:
data:,{"p":"erc-20","op":"mint","tick":"eths","id":"10944","amt":"1000"}
Although the base Ethscriptions Protocol treats these ethscriptions as if they were plain text, community consensus has rallied around the idea that holding one of these mint ethscriptions increases the holder’s balance by 1000 and that transferring such an ethscription transfers 1000 from the sender to the receiver.
In fact, the community has embraced this idea with such enthusiasm that the current volume of all tokens on Ethscriptions has soared past an impressive 1500+ ETH!
**Token Splitting &** $eths
As the ecosystem matures, the demand for trading these ethscription tokens in quantities smaller than 1000 has increased.
This is where token splitting comes into play. Splitting is the ability to hold and trade $eths (or any token) in quantities less than the mint ethscription (1000 in this case). That's why we're introducing an official solution: splitting through Dumb Contract bridges!
To make this a reality, each individual token would have its own bridge. Given the huge community support behind it, we're thrilled to announce that $eths will be the pioneer ethscriptions token to have its very own official bridge. We also intend to operate an official bridge for ETH and potentially other assets.
Here is an example of how a bridge for the $eths token would work:
1. User transfers a mint ethscription to Bridge Smart Contract
2. Bridge Smart Contract (“BSC”) sends an ethscription to Bridge Dumb Contract (“BDC”) notifying the BDC that BSC has received an ethscription.
3. BDC validates that the ethscription that BSC received is a valid mint ethscription for token $eths.
4. If it is, BDC mints to the user 1000 Dumb Contract $eths tokens. Note: this is a Dumb Contract-native asset.
5. User buys / sells / uses these Dumb Contract tokens.
6. If the user wants to get their mint ethscription back, they make a call to the Bridge Dumb Contract that burns their Dumb Contract $eths token and notifies the bridge operator to let the user withdraw the mint ethscription.
7. The bridge operator creates a signature that the user can present to the Smart Contract Bridge in order to withdraw the mint ethscription.
We are actively developing this technology. You can see our current progress (not production ready) here: https://github.com/ethscriptions-protocol/ethscriptions-vm-server/blob/main/app/models/contracts/ethscription_erc20_bridge.rb…
**Introducing: DEXs**
The ability to split tokens on Dumb Contracts is only meaningful if you can trade them. That's why we're excited to announce that we’re building out a full-featured Dumb Contract DEX that anyone can deploy. Specifically, we are currently planning to implement a port of UniswapV2.
This DEX architecture will empower users to swap ethscriptions-based tokens, bridged ETH, and Dumb Contract-native tokens seamlessly.
Just like our bridge, we’ll deploy and manage an official DEX. Stay tuned for coming updates
Centralized Exchanges (CEXs)
Furthermore, centralized exchanges will also be able to list Dumb Contract tokens. The Dumb Contract token standard aligns with ERC20, making it familiar to CEXs. We're committed to collaborating with CEXs to ensure a smooth integration process.
**What About Other Splitting Approaches?**
As the Ethscriptions ecosystem evolves, community consensus on important matters becomes crucial. That is why we are devoting all our energy to making Dumb Contracts safe and full of features and establishing it as the official token splitting method.
**Conclusion**
Dumb Contracts have gone from an idea to being live on testnet in less than a month. @0xhirsch and I are proud to deliver progress as or more quickly than our competitors, who have the benefit of larger teams and sometimes billions of dollars.
However, as the old saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day." We kindly request the community's patience and support by actively participating on testnet. We are working to make Dumb Contracts as solid and long-lived as Ethereum and community participation is essential.
We have laid out our official vision in this post. However, Ethscriptions is a decentralized protocol and no one can force you to follow our guidance. Dumb Contracts too will be decentralized, and anyone will be free to create their own bridges and DEXs, just like we can.
If you want to contribute to this open-source development, join our Discord (https://discord.gg/ethscriptions) or DM me or @0xhirsch!
And don't forget to attend the Q&A tomorrow!

- We're proud to introduce Lens Improvement Proposals (LIPs). This open, collaborative process will guide the future development of Lens Protocol.
Taking inspiration from the successful Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) and Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs), LIPs takes a step towards decentralized governance. The LIPs process will foster an inclusive, transparent and collaborative environment.
You will find how to participate in LIPs in the Lens Protocol’s GitHub repository, which streamlines the community participation process. It gives anyone the chance to submit proposals, and promotes open discussion.
Let's dive into the first three proposals that are live today:
LIP-0: Establishing an Open Governance Model. A process where the Lens community can propose improvements to Lens Protocol. From the submission of proposals to transparent discussions — we aim to foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive decision-making governance model.
LIP-1: Open Standards for Algorithms. A proposal to establish open standards for algorithms — based on the open Lens data layer — that will encourage the development of third-party algorithms, diverse experiences and provide user choice.
LIP-2: Open Standards for Metadata. An initiative to establish metadata standards for Lens Protocol, promoting transparency, interoperability, and user empowerment.
Take a deep dive into LIPs in our latest blog: https://mirror.xyz/lensprotocol.eth/8uxN9fMYBOqyDW5yZ6O3DDdOLEv1jJtxcw9qk4c4wgM
LIPs are our next step in enabling community involvement in shaping Lens Protocol's future.

- Introducing the Lens SDK – your new go-to toolkit to create powerful experiences & applications for the social layer of Web3.
Developers rejoice! We have lowered the barrier to entry and made it easier than ever to create innovative, powerful, and engaging Lens apps and experiences. With the new Lens SDK you can plug into the Web3 social layer with just 10 lines of code.
Pick and choose the features you want - only the components you use contribute to the final size of your app bundles. These capabilities are all handled by the Lens SDK, allowing developers to focus on their core features.
The SDK is modular and composable. It seamlessly integrates with other Web3 projects, protocols, and tools such as @litprotocol.lens to enable token-gated publications.
Mobile apps have been some of the biggest success stories on Lens. The new SDK doubles down on mobile support, starting with React Native. With the SDK, you can build polished mobile apps without underlying knowledge of the Lens API or Lens Protocol.
Come build the future on the social layer of Web3.

NFTs cannot be minted yet. They will share a link for users to mint the NFT after the snapshots are taken, so stay tuned. Once there's news about the mint page, or week 3 tasks, I will update. These tasks are not capital-intensive, it's a great opportunity to interact.
- 7/8
WEEK 2 Starting yesterday, there is time until May 16 23:59 UTC to also complete week 2. To get the second NFT: 1. Play the game in: http://starkfighter.xyz 2. Get a .stark domain for free here: http://xplorer.starknet.id 3. Submit your score (tweet required)
- 6/8
WEEK 1 Argent extended the deadline so users can get the first NFT if they interact today. There's still time - deadline is Thursday 11 May 23:59 UTC.
- 5/8
WEEK 1 To get the first NFT: 1. Install Argent X extension: http://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/argent-x/dlcobpjiigpikoobohmabehhmhfoodbb… 2. Bridge ETH to Starknet: http://starkgate.starknet.io (or use Orbiter) 3. Make (1) transaction on Starknet Mainnet using Argent X (make a swap @10KSwap, use @Orbiter_Finance, etc)
- 4/8
This campaign is a good way to generate organic activity on-chain and to get to know Starknet protocols. Argent will be giving 8 NFTs for 8 weeks, 1 per week. First week was until May 9. However, since the network was slow, they extended the deadline to today 23:59
- 3/8
$STRK: In the other hand, StarkEX users (dYdX, Immutable, etc) are indeed getting an airdrop. Stay tuned for more news on this front - we will probably get some updates when the token becomes tradable.
- 2/8
$STRK: remember that the token has already been confirmed and deployed. Not currently trading: 0xca14007eff0db1f8135f4c25b34de49ab0d42766 There is no information about a retroactive airdrop for Starknet users yet, but there is 8.1% of "Unallocated" supply.
- 1/8
Similar to Arbitrum Odyssey, Argent is: • Launching one campaign per week • Rewarding 1 NFT per week after each campaign • Helping users get to know the Starknet ecosystem • Helping protocols get discovered
- PREPARING FOR $STRK Time sensitive thread, 8 hours left @argentHQ wallet is doing a "Xplorer Campaign" - something similar to the Arbitrum Odyssey that got the $ARB airdrop to many users. There are 8 NFTs to collect. Deadline for the 1st is today! Airdrop Strategy 🥰🥰
