It's **International Women's day** πΏ
Let's take a moment and celebrate some incredible women in the #meditation space.
1) **Tara Brach**, a psychologist and meditation teacher who offers talks, guided meditations and courses on #mindfulness and #awakening. Her approach is grounded in the practices of #vipassana and loving-kindness.
2) **Sharon Salzberg**, a New York Times bestselling author and a co-founder of Insight Meditation Society. She has been teaching for over 40 years and is a leading figure in the meditation movement. Her teachings focus on developing compassion and self-awareness through mindfulness practices.
3) **Sally Kempton,** a meditation teacher and author who has been teaching for over 40 years. She has studied with many prominent meditation teachers, including Swami Muktananda and Ram Dass. Her teachings focus on the intersection of spirituality and everyday life, and she emphasises the importance of self-awareness and compassion.
4) **Pema ChΓΆdrΓΆn,** a Buddhist nun and author who has written extensively on meditation, mindfulness, and compassion. She is the author of several books, including "When Things Fall Apart" and "The Places that Scare You".

Paramedics and navy seals are taught this breathing technique as itβs one of the quickest ways to regulate the nervous system.
Itβs an excellent calming breath if youβre feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed.
Try it now, breathing through your nose if possible.
First, inhale slowly and draw the breath down to your belly. Hold your breath but try to keep your body as relaxed as you can. Then exhale slowly, evenly and with control, and hold again at then end of the out breath.
