- Evening thoughts.. 🫣🫠 I read a lot about “Freedom of speech” here on Lens with people saying that we shouldn’t “cancel” or “restrict” anyone from sharing their point of views or content.
Well, what if people start sharing sexist, antisemitist, racist and all sort of “immoral and unethical” ideas/contents?!
Should we let them do so? I personally think that there needs to be a way to prevent these types of behavior. We can’t just let people promote hatred towards a person or group of people.
The idea of web3 as permissionless and censorshipless in a Utopia! We live on Planet Earth and it’s full of evil and fcked up people.
Anyways very curious to get your opinions on this sensitive topic.

- The best way to accumulate wealth is through consistent and disciplined saving.
- Oh and this verification can be revoke.
- I like the idea of what web of trust is heavy but it's the only way to have a trust in a profile for me.

The idea is pretty old gpg can do this kind of thing but it's lot more complciated.
For lens would be cool if we can "verify" a profile based on some qr code then you can see who trust this profile and based on that accord some lvl of trust to the account. As I say in the post "verification" must be revocable because lens profile can be transfered.
Also it's a long process but the only way for me to be sure you are talking to the good person behind an address.
- interesting, also isn’t following a profile by itself a social verification?

- at the time of writing the notification experiment post ( https://lenster.xyz/posts/0x0f85-0x155b ) was commented 253 times. THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🤍.
The notification "signal filter" sent 34 notifications. (**13.44%**)
(If I haven't commented your comment with sth like "✅ ..." I didn't get a notification for your comment.)
**learnings:**
1️⃣ tagging (e.g. @punkess.lens ) "overrules/d" the filter
2️⃣ "following" seems to be the main criteria decisive if a notification was triggered.
**a few thoughts:**
It's great to see steps taken to hide spam wherever the user wasn't able to act yet (comments, notifications). It's even better that both filters can be (de)activated by the user.
Configuring the filter will be very challenging and rn it's imo too strict -> new people or people with a smaller lens network get even less visibility than they got before.
I would love to see a discussion around
`How can we support people starting on lens?`
with tools, games, (virtual) meetups, communities, ... pls share your ideas :-). 🙏

- 🤔 interesting, but makes sense, assuming that a percentage of the botish LMCC accounts don't want to pay gas fees they might be no longer active at all (although likes wouldn't come with transaction cost).
- I have noticed I am receiving less likes on my comments after the notification filtering feature was introduced. I reckon some of the users who liked my comments can be genuine lens users not bots accounts. Having said that, I still support lens actions on limiting/stopping bots activities.
