- **Welcome to the My Lens Journey series!**
Next up in our series, we're sharing @lens/chaoticmonk's journey in the Lens garden **🌿**
Check out his story below 👇
📌 **When did your Lens journey start?**
I started my @lens/lens Journey in July 2022, right around the time when Twi📌tter was being accused of censorship around the pandemic topics.
📌 **What's your favorite thing about the Lens ecosystem?**
Collects! Despite there being other players in the Web3 social space, no one really has hit the mark in bringing the social and on-chain collectible components together as Lens.
We still have a long way to go but the tech stack is def there and recently BONSAI has added fuel to the existing flame :)
📌 **Your favorite Lens app?**
Tough one, my favorite Lens app changes every week On mobile, sometimes I’m a @lens/buttrfly Maxi as it iterates fast and adds a lot of features, other times I’m all in on @lens/orb ‘swiping to collect’ in their smooth UI/UX, especially after the new update.
I try using @lens/phaver from time to time, but I don’t think they support collects yet. On desktop, it’s @lens/hey
📌 **What are your expectations for the Lens ecosystem in 2024?**
I’d love to see the Collects ecosystem growing further beyond just ‘collecting’- perhaps a way to easily view, curate, and share our Collects on our profiles (without having to use non-lens-native tools), a secondary market, Easy Token Gating, and Raffles using existing Collects.
- BONS AI magazine #issue02
The feature of this issue is about Japanese kimono! It's quite rare to have a kimono with a bonsai pattern, but through collaboration with Mid Journey, we were able to create beautiful kimonos.
When wearing a kimono, there are various rules such as colors, patterns, and how to tie the obi depending on the season and occasion. Let's deepen our understanding together.
We received many comments on issue 01, which made us happy! We would appreciate it if more people could see it, so if you like it, please repost it! thank you.
Also, when it sells out, we will express our gratitude to the first 5 collectors by revealing a fantastic cover and giving them 100% of the split revenue!

- **Think crypto is just digital? Nope!**
Imagine owning a piece of a painting or a share in a property, all through your crypto wallet. That's what's happening as real world assets like real estate and art join the crypto universe. This means:
* **More Stability**: Crypto backed by real stuff like buildings or gold can be less bumpy to own.
* **More Trust**: It's easier to invest when you know there's something real behind it, right?
* **Easier Rules**: Real assets can help smooth out the tricky rules around owning crypto.
As the lines between what's real and what's digital blur, knowing about this new trend is key for anyone looking to keep their investments smart and safe.

- The narrative around Lens native tokens is gaining momentum!
There's buzz about lots of projects and creators eager to launch their own Lens native tokens, following $BONSAI's lead.
This movement is not only enhancing the ecosystem's richness but also significantly boosting users' loyalty to @lens/lens ecosystem.
At Kaira, we're pioneering by being the first Lens app to integrate these tokens into our platform, helping to bootstrap the process and further fostering this growing allegiance.

- What historical fact blows your mind?
Did you know Cleopatra lived closer in time to the moon landing than to the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza? 🌕🏛️ Imagine, the icons of ancient history and modern achievement separated by less time than we thought.
Cleopatra VII, the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, lived from 69 to 30 BCE. The Great Pyramid of Giza was completed around 2560 BCE, making it over 2,500 years older than Cleopatra's time. The moon landing occurred in 1969, which is about 2,000 years after Cleopatra lived. This means Cleopatra lived closer in time to the moon landing than to the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Mind-blowing, isn't it?

- What Do You Think About Permissionless Lens❓️
🌿 @lens/lens will soon be permissionless! So, what does this mean? This means more users will join the Lens garden.
🌿 In recent days, @lens/orbapp V2 was launched and they really provided a fresh, fun, and fluid experience. Especially, the appearance of posts with multiple photos in the feed is very aesthetic!
🌿 On the other hand, @lens/kaira V2 is getting ready to launch! The exact date has been announced, we will start experiencing the latest version of Kaira on February 26th. The Kaira team says they have redeveloped the entire app to offer a good experience to the user and will start offering an innovative approach to Open Actions with Kaira V2. I especially loved their new logos, they look cool, professional, and more dynamic. I guess we will probably see this professional and style change in the app with the new version as well.
🌿 Meanwhile, in Lens, the @lens/pointless meme token has become quite popular lately. A pointless airdrop was made to everyone (to those who arrived before December 15th), and it was added to the currency options for paid collect in Kaira for the first time. Generally, it has started to be frequently used among Lens users. Perhaps with V2, the use of $pointless in Kaira might increase.
In short, Lens becoming permissionless is a great opportunity for many Lens apps like Orb, Kaira to get more users, and this will allow the projects to improve themselves even more based on the feedback!

- 🟧 How can Open Actions help to onboarding new users to DeFi?
Imagine writing a post about a gem token you discovered and embedding @lens/uniswap swap contract directly into the media field of your post instead of an analysis image. Users can execute swap actions directly on the post without going to Uniswap.
The platform where you share this smart post could be taking a small fee for every open action and sharing it with the user who made the post. Therefore, you can generate referral income by natively creating traffic for on-chain transactions.
If you wish, you can set your post to share a desired portion of its revenue with those who RT / Quote your post.
This creates an endless reward pool for the organic promotion of your post. As the @lens/lens post is promoted and generates swap traffic, you earn a fee, and a predetermined portion of this fee is automatically distributed to those who promote it.
Instead of a swap, imagine adding all NFTs of a collection listed on OpenSea to the media field of your post in a carousel format, with the price and buy button below.

- Lenny wants to help you understand the basics of the Lens Protocol! 🌿
Many newcomers have recently joined the Lens ecosystem, and here is a brief FAQ about the Lens Protocol! 👇
1️⃣ What is Lens Protocol?
The Lens Protocol is a Web3 social graph on the Polygon blockchain. It empowers creators to own the links between themselves and their community, forming a fully composable, user-owned social graph.
2️⃣ What is a Lens Profile NFT?
Profiles on Lens are represented by a Profile NFT, the main object in the Lens Protocol. Owning this NFT gives you control over your social graph and content. Individual addresses own ProfileNFTs, and an address can have multiple ProfileNFTs. Atm, only invited users can claim a Lens Profile NFT.
3️⃣ What differentiates the Lens Profile NFT from other on-chain IDs?
Profile NFTs can post content. They contain the history of all your posts, quotes, mirrors, comments, and other content. All your social data are linked to your Lens Profile NFT.
4️⃣ What is a Lens Handle?
Lens Handles are like usernames on a social network, for example, @lens/stani @lens/punkess or @lens/jessyjeanne
5️⃣ Do I need to pay a gas fee while posting on Lens apps?
No, if you enable your Lens Manager while using any @lens/lens apps like @lens/orbapp @lens/kaira @lens/phaver or @lens/t2world you don’t need to pay a fee or sign on-chain transactions for posting, commenting, liking, etc.
6️⃣ Do I need different Lens Profile NFTs to use different Lens apps?
No. With a single Lens Profile NFT, you can explore all Lens apps. Each app is a client offering different UX and benefits, and they all feed from the Lens Protocol. Your posts, comments, etc., from different apps, can be seen in other apps.
7️⃣ What is the collect feature?
You can post collectible posts. Set a price, supply, or time limit with advanced settings. It's a new way of on-chain social engagement!
We hope this guide is useful for newcomers! 🌿

- The Future of DeSoc as mentioned in Messari's 2024 Report 👇
Messari's 2024 report discussed the future of DeSoc (Decentralized Social), highlighting its significance as a key trend for the year.
I wanted to share my notes from the reports. Let's examine the key predictions:
1️⃣ The report suggests that DeSoc may experience a surge in 2024, similar to the "DeFi Summer" boom of 2020 in the DeFi space. The expected rapid rise of DeSoc in 2024 is attributed to the clearer emergence of its product-market fit concept.
2️⃣ Farcaster is highlighted as a project to watch in 2024, still in the early stages of building what Lens Protocol has already achieved with its V1. While Lens is more advanced and ahead in the race, Farcaster, though just starting, is acknowledged for its significant potential.
3️⃣ It's mentioned that 70% of Lens users are utilizing more than one Lens app.
4️⃣ Farcaster's strategy of targeting a specific user base through thematic broadcasts, AMAs with celebrities, and similar activities is noted. Approximately 40% of user interactions occur in these thematic channels. On Lens Protocol, @orbapp and @phaver are already making strides, while @kaira plans to introduce a Communities feature in its V2 release soon, aiming for a similar goal.
5️⃣ DeSoc is seen as paving the way for a new business model concerning algorithms, potentially leading to a future where users invest in personalized 'for you' algorithms, controlled and shaped according to their preferences.
6️⃣ The report points out that while Web2 social media apps generate annual ad revenues of $ 300 million, DeSoc could enable a fairer distribution of these revenues among content creators.
7️⃣ The importance of PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) for DeSoc and SocialFi projects in enhancing user experience is highlighted. I think only a few Lens projects are using PWA atm. We'll also launch Kaira's mobile as PWA with Kaira V2 too.
So, according to Messari's 2024 report future is bright for the Lens ecosystem and DeSoc apps. What are your thoughts about it?

- A value-based token economy model for Lens creators 🤔
As we all know, creators face unfair revenue distribution in Web2 social media applications. Our primary motivation on the Lens Protocol is to be a social media platform that can solve this. We aim to create a tokenized content economy that is based on the value generated between creators and curators.
To sustain this in a viable way, we are developing many new features. Some of these are already being used by Lens creators! At the center of all these models is the $KAIRA token, the native token of our social media platform.
Since our launch on the Lens Protocol, Lens creators have been actively using the Kaira platform and earning $KAIRA token rewards. They are not able to claim and transfer these tokens yet, but we are close to that day too 👀 You can check your $KAIRA token rewards on the Earnings page within the platform.
If you haven't yet experienced the Kaira platform and the token economy model, you can try it by leaving a comment on this post at <https://kaira.network> 🌿
