- Dawn of a New Era for Ethereum: Launching zkSync's zkEVM | The Edge Podcast
Marco Cora is the Head of Business Development at Matter Labs (zkSync).
In this episode of The Edge Podcast, we talk about the imminent launch of zkSync's zkEVM! This Ethereum L2 will significantly increase the throughput of the Ethereum network, reduce transaction costs, and improve overall efficiency.
We talk with Marco about why they believe an EVM-compatible zkRollup-based L2 is better technology for scaling Ethereum long term and why we as users should care. Given the launch of optimistic rollup-based L2s like Arbitrum and Optimism, we were eager to discuss the ongoing process of onboarding DeFi and Web3 teams to zkSync Era, how they will bootstrap liquidity, and if zkSync launches a token, how it will work in decentralizing their L2. Given zkSync is solely run and operated by the zkSync team's servers, it is currently centralized, but this is expected to be transitioned to a decentralized system this year or some time in early 2024. Find out how to get ahead for what is anticipated to be the next biggest L2 launch since Arbitrum!

- AI and Blockchain don't overlap much. U definitely don't need a L1 for it and no coin
However, in a close future when anyone can produce any content impersonating you, having the ability to sign your content with keys linked to secure decentralized ledgers will be crucial.
I'm quite interested in zk-identity projects like @sismo.lens data ownership and auditability of content publication will become increasingly important.

- Hello frens,
Having the same wallet for more than 2 years and having made many manipulations rather insecure (using my passphrase in a browser, signing contracts more or less shady, etc.). I would like to migrate to a new address for most of my assets.
NFTs, poaps, tokens are easy but what about accounts like lens ?
Also, Is there any risk of being qualified as suspicious on platforms like OpenSea ?

- Question to everyone, naive no doubt.
On ETH I was proud to participate in the network thanks to my graphics card(s). Wasn't much, but it was honest work.
After the merge, 32 ETH is a lot for a small individual like me. 3 stETH, 15 stkAAVE, 76 BAL, 450 MATIC... That's a handful of graphics cards but I am not far away from participating in the network... I am forever out of reach.
What do you think about this? Isn't this a problem for decentralization? Shouldn't the network belong to its users? A graphics card was not a small investment either, but it was far from what Ethereum requires today to become a validator.

- Hello Lenster 👋
We're giving away all 78 (and counting!) $WMATIC tokens that we earned so far with Lenster back to one lucky follower.
👉 All you need to do is to mirror this post and comment with 🍷 emoji.
The winner will be announced at the end of August 🙂
P.S. the final prize can be way bigger as our account keeps earning $WMATIC for the content we publish here. Good luck!
- I do not usually promote NFTs projects and I have nothing to gain from it but I think that what Finiliar is doing is really nice.
It's just a simple project of little pets being attached to a coin (BTC, ETH, LINK, etc.). Their mood change according to if the coin they are attached to is doing well or not (using Chainlink oracle). Each finiliar have a frequency of mood change between every hour to every month.
There is nothing more, no promise of metaverse or any other stupid buzzword, just cute pets changing moods. I like it :)
And here is mine, a cute Finiliar of the Loots clan, from the family of Ethereum (the coin she is attached to). Her mood change every week.
The mood changing system is not ready yet. They are all idle at this moment. It should be ready in 2-3 months according to the team.

- Hello everyone!
Today, I would like to share with you a personal experience related to NFTs. I warn you, it's not pretty but if it can help some people to see more clearly and/or share our experiences... And I guess lenster is the best place to talk about it.
I've been interested in blockchains for years but I only started to really put money into it since February 2021. At that time we all thought we were geniuses and every call ended as profit. The magic of the bullrun, the general blindness of what awaited us a few months later. You know the rest.
Anyway, in September 2021, still largely in profit, I started to take a closer look at NFTs. My first purchases were on a decentralized game : @aavegotchi.lens (that is is not a bad project). I first bought a few "portals" (like card boosters pack), and because I was totaly addicted of participating, it's almost all my crypto savings that went into it.
The bear-market was so scary, I preferred to run away to something less palpable. At that time, I didn't realize it yet but I was slowly starting to sink into an addiction to NFTs.
Let's talk about money. I invested a total of about 5000€ in crypto. At the peak of the market, I had 40,000€ worth. I managed to more or less "tank" the bear market by moving towards stablecoins even though fear made me do a lot of stupid things. I think I was around 10,000€ at the low despite everything. But what I found most devastating were the NFTs.
After @aavegotchi.lens , I invested on anything. Thinking that one project was better than another, I started dumping all my crypto savings.
Of course, when you're "informed", you quickly understand that you're buying false promises for 99 projects out of 100, but hey, you get caught up in the hype and you go anyway. (In the end, I was lucky that Aavegotchi was not one of them, but that's not the point).
To give you an idea, I had more than 10,000€ on @aavegotchi.lens , 3,000€ on AnataNFT, 3,000€ on WineBottleClub and a lot of other projects with more or less important amounts (I don't criticize the projects themselves, it's an observation).
Just think that I owned an animated avatar that I bought for 3,000€. At that price, you can buy a second-hand electric scooter. To all these totally incoherent behaviors, we can add the time spent. When you start to get into this business, it's easy to lose 4 hours a day looking at projects, being harassed on twitter, etc. Time wasted for next to nothing.
Today, I managed to get out of this addiction even though I am and will remain a true technology enthusiast. Thanks to CryptoMatrix2 (twitter) , I'm moving forward with my dollar cost averaging by locking my cryptos to not touch them.
Other people like @aavechan.lens show us how important the fundamentals are even if we have to be aware that we can't have the same life as them "on the blockchain".
If you are as lost as I am, take the time to go read the DEFI forums like @aaveaave.lens or @apwine.lens rather than wasting your time with the latest trendy NFT project. It took me a while to figure it out and especially to make it happen.
I don't give up on NFTs, there are projects that try to keep the NFT "contract" useful and concrete (I'd like to mention some but I don't want to draw you to them either) while trying to stay consistent with the amounts of money involved.
Well not quite since if you go over my OpenSea profile (don't), you'll see that I still have some 💩 and mostly completely nonsensical behaviors I'm fighting against.
So, strength to all those who see the future in this technology but are getting eaten up a bit by hype and FOMO. I guess you have to lose a little and go through it to learn and become wiser over time.
Thanks for reading.
