- exciting update incoming.
can you guess the coolest new feature?
- A few weeks ago, we unveiled the new Orb new logo in time for the sweet swag at @club/afk Berlin.
But why did we change this logo, and what does it mean?
We’re breaking down the pieces that make this logo, and the meaning behind each piece:
The Badge
Communities run on social currency, and as a social app we understand how important status can be.
This badge shape represents and recognizes a user's contribution to the orb ecosystem and community.
Profile badges are something we’ll be unveiling soon. Watch for more announcements on this 👀
The Circle
Orb is known to build with its creators and users at the center of the experience.
The Circle represents the user at the center for Orb, because that’s where our focus is for the app.
The Rounded Square
Like the town square or the college quad, the rounded Square represents Orb Clubs, a meeting place for all.
Building a consumer app, we acknowledge the diverse values users are bringing with them. This is why it’s important for us to offer our users their own space for their interests & connections.
The Gear
This one is for the builders and the users working together to make the slickest user experience in crypto.
The final shape of the logo is the open gear, representing the features not yet built. Early adopters still have the opportunity to shape what the app will look & feel like in the future.
We hope this thread sheds some light on the new logo, and that you’ll give Orb a try if you haven’t already.
We think it’s one of the easiest ways to tap into the @lens/lensprotocol ecosystem and tap into the new creator economy.

- Did you know that you can use VS code snippets in Neovim? 🤔
LuaSnip is an awesome snippets engine, that also allows for importing from a huge collection of VS Code snippets.

- ⬜️ Orb Clubs are Open ⬜️
Now, anyone can start their own Web3 native club directly from the app, equipped with a treasury, a token, gating mechanisms, and a path to decentralization.
↓
ˆ𐃷ˆ
What’s a club?
Imagine a group chat with a shared treasury.
Clubs are communities grouped by ideas, activities, or interests. The treasury helps support the club & can be used to reward active members, fund a project, or whatever the group or club owner and mods want.
( •᷄ᴗ•́)
Why is this important?
Clubs are significant for two reasons:
They help you find your people, create a space for your audience, or can even be used as a tool for growth or distribution.
The treasury ensures that the community has an important monetary foundation to help maintain & sustain its future.

Open Across Apps
One of the most exciting parts of this announcement is that we are doubling down on communities and opening up the APIs for other apps to implement.
This means the club you make for your fans can display on other Lens apps that decide to use this tool.

- What's the best way to start with nvim? 🚀
Kickstart is an awesome template for kickstarting your new configuration 🧡
https://github.com/nvim-lua/kickstart.nvim
It provides only the bare minimum to get you going, so you can slowly build up your development environment, with great documentation and defaults.
You can even opt for a modular version if you want a more manageable structure! (highly recommended).

- A life-saving plugin 🛟
Undotree lets you visualize and quickly navigate the tree of changes within the currently opened file. This has saved me so many headaches 😅

- Have you heard about Zoxide? 👀
https://github.com/ajeetdsouza/zoxide
It's a very cool alternative to the `cd` command. Zoxide remembers the paths you've navigated to and allows for quick jumping with fuzzy search. 🔥

- **1/1 • Orbv2 Concept • 10% share • 24h
**
Hey, I’m founding designer at Orb
Only one item of our first concept with visual design for Orbv2, which became of core our current design language and philosophy (and it’s just a begining)
🤫
- **Excited to announce** that I’m going to make collectible my project. If you’d like to support me, here’s what’s on offer:
• Exclusive 1/1 collectible item.
• Your name linked in the credits as a supporter.
Some context:
Many of you know me as a product designer at Orb, specializing in interface design. However, I also have a keen interest in design-journalism, which I pursue as a hobby. I believe that every artist should make powerful statements through their art. A few years ago, I created a no-code longread about the Armenian Genocide (genocide.greatarmenia.org), a topic very close to my heart as an Armenian. This year marks the 109th anniversary on April 24, 2024. My friends often joke about the intense topics I tackle, including my other longreads on the War in Ukraine and the Rwandan Genocide, as well as the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh.
This particular longread, which I crafted entirely solo without any coding, has been recognized with an award from Awwwards, The FWA, and Communication Arts—the largest and oldest magazine on visual communication—alongside over 20 other international awards and publications.
Why?
We are entering a completely new era where Orb provides a platform for creators worldwide to connect with collectors, regardless of their location or fame. I am excited about the potential to bridge journalism, design, and blockchain technology.
All proceeds will be reinvested into acquiring new gear, conducting further research, and developing new projects.
Thank you for your attention and support!
