As our heavy feet grip the sharp rocks near the end of a trail, the forest ambience opens to an expansive space. We meditate on the horizon as campfire flames crackle, smoke rising to the sky in dense purple clouds. Our eyes close and a lightness overtakes our bodies. A floating sensation enfolds us as we release the weights that hold us down. The sky opens up. We let go. Our bodies defy gravity, soaring upwards, and we begin to evaporate… gently becoming part of this great expanse.

Breaking new ground…
First multi-recipient collect on a collaboration between @jamieforsyth.lens and @jamesfinnerty.lens
This piece was conceived in a solar-powered shipping container studio in the forests of Northern California. (*in fact, at the moment this was recorded the sun was powering the whole studio directly through the solar panels; no battery bank needed!)
We started with a mono, overhead drum recording using a single mic, and some bass accompaniment done together in a single live improvised take. It was then passed back and forth remotely to add acoustic and electric guitars and then the final touches.
