- **Ethereum Mastering: The Smart Contract Bible**
*Mastering Ethereum* is one of Andreas Antonopoulos' best known books, written in collaboration with Gavin Wood, one of the founders of Ethereum and subsequently by Polkadot.
This is the Chain Ethereum Bible as, exactly as it does with Bitcoin in Bitcoin Mastering and Mastering Lightning Network, he explains it from A to Z both from a conceptual and technical point of view. For this reason we also included it in the best books on Bitcoin and Crypto. (I advise you to take a look at the others too!)
It starts by presenting the bases of the protocol, and then gets to explain how the Solidary programming language works, with practical examples of smart contracts built and explained step by step.
The technical part can frighten, but it is not mandatory for the purpose of understanding the book. Those who are not interested in the programming of Smart Contract or their low -level understanding can safely jump.
**What is Mastering Ethereum about?**
As anticipated a little while ago, it is a book that explains Ethereum, the second blockchain for market capitalization and first considering the so -called Smart Contract platforms, at 360 degrees.
It starts with the introduction to Ethereum: what it is, how it works and what it is for, remaining at a high level and explaining its countless cases of use.
Following, you go into detail, explaining the infrastructure: clients, wallets, and how encryption works that makes the protocol safe and its transactions.
There are later various chapters entirely dedicated to Smart Contracts and the Solidity programming language, designed specifically for Ethereum. The individual functions and the syntax of language are explained in them, in a truly complete and detailed way.
The last part is dedicated to tokenisation, to other infrastructure components such as oracles, and depp, decentralized applications, always with many examples and study cases.
There is also an explanation on the EVM, the Ethereum Virtual Machine, as well as the consent algorithm (spoiler: it remained updated to the old proof of work).
**Where to download Mastering Ethereum for free, and where to buy it**
Mastering Ethereum is available for now only in English. The translation into other languages is in progress (here https://explore.transifex.com/aantonop/ethereumbook/ you can see the progress of the translation in the various languages)
The original version can be downloaded for free https://github.com/ethereumbook/ethereumbook (made available by the authors) from here: read now
What can I say ... Happy reading!
- **Monthly volumes of NFT exchange on the various chains:**
- *Ethereum* keeps the dominance
- *Solana* down compared to January
- *Polygon* instead in great increase

- Lens is a *social media protocol* that any developer can build on top of. A post on one app using Lens will show up in any other app.
Unlike an API (Application Programming Interface) from a company, a protocol like Lens is designed to be inert. Email is routed over SMTP (Smart Media Transfer Protocol). I believe a large volume of social activity will eventually be routed through Lens.

- **New ZK-rollup Testnet: Taiko ⏅**
3 days ago TaikoXYZ announced their Alpha Testnet.
Tutorial: INTERACT and run a NODE with Taiko Testnet and get a POAP!
🧵 How to position yourself for $TKO airdrop, if it happens:
1/6
What is Taiko?
It's a Type 1 (Ethereum-equivalent) ZK-EVM.
Another Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, like zkSync and Starknet
• Founded by the former CEO of Loopring
• They claim they are "well funded". List not public yet
In-depth info: 🔗 https://taiko.xyz/docs/intro/faq
2/6
TOKEN CONFIRMED: Their token will be called $TKO
• Although the fees are paid in ETH, block proposers get revenue for burning $TKO and paying ETH to Ethereum L1 Validators
• Mechanim: TKO will be minted to reward proof verification by block provers
3/6
What's the current stage of the project?
3 days ago, Taiko announced their Alpha-1 Testnet, called "Snæfellsjökull". Deploying on mainnet in 2023!
We can interact with Alpha Testnet right now.
Strategy below 👇
4/6
TESTNET STRATEGY
STEP 1: Get faucets tokens
• l1faucet.a1.taiko.xyz
• l2faucet.a1.taiko.xyz
STEP 2: Bridge tokens from ETH-A1 & Taiko-A1
• bridge.a1.taiko.xyz
STEP 3: Deploy smart contract tutorial: https://youtu.be/wlSCIoI9Nho (shoutout to Kethic community member)
STEP 4: Run a node. Here is a tutorial below 👇
Links in the tutorial so you can copy-paste:

STEP 5: Don't forget to send tokens to your friends (regular transactions)
STEP 6: Submit any feedback here: https://github.com/orgs/taikoxyz/discussions/new?category=feedback&title=Testnet%20feedback%20form&body=%23+Friction+log%0D%0A-+TODO%0D%0A%0D%0A%23+Other+notes%0D%0A-+TODO%0D%0A
More details: 🔗 taiko.xyz/docs/alpha-1-testnet/start-here
5/6
💡 Alpha: you'll be able to claim a POAP (in February 2023) for completing a minimum of 2/3 tasks before Jan 31st, 23:59 UTC.
Tasks:
- Using the bridge (mentioned above)
- Send transactions between wallets
- Interact with contracts (or deploy one)
6/6
Will there be an airdrop? 🪂
There is no information about any airdrops or eligibility criteria yet. We should stay tuned for it if the decide to announce it.
In the mean time, doesn't hurt to interact and earn that POAP while we are still early!

- Address Poisoning Attack Detected: this is very similar to the Dusting Attack, but this is completely new and more like a social engineering/vanity attacks/phishing attack: https://officercia.mirror.xyz/n-sXszeDoNU3wtUUxRQEYvxQlZ6loaFElILzm2gnMzw
- A LOT of memecoins try to replicate the $BONK success. I wouldn't touch any of these fast following memecoins. Plenty of historical data from other chains show 99% of these will end up at 0. Be careful out there.
- A very interesting article that explains what **Impact DAOs** are and how they could improve the efficiency of today's non-profit organizations https://mirror.xyz/0x53C510E1Eb08b8b0b480f1Fe51A4a2bEdbFCBc73/6KBIWfW_j1pLdIJOrYn7KMTHDXawl7SrA7Ic4LWjWFw
- Another way to implement Zero-Knowledge Proofs in the space: **ZK Badges** 🎭
In a post, Vitalik talked about @Sismo_eth, a protocol that issues ZK Badges.
They are privacy-preserving Soul-Bound Tokens (non-transferrable NFTs).
SISMO does not have a token. How does it work? 🧵
1/
What is Sismo?
It's a protocol that allows people to issue and mint ZK Badges.
What is a Zero Knowledge Badge?
It's a Soul-Bound Token (non-transferable NFT) that can provide evidence of something without revealing the actual information.
Example 👇
2/
Example:
Say I want to prove to all of you that I received a $100,000 DYDX airdrop without revealing the wallet that received it.
I could "earn" the badge using that wallet (private) but "mint" the badge using my olimpio.eth wallet (public)
Thanks @dhadrien_ for slides ⚡️
3/
Another example:
Remember Proof of Humanity? A website where you upload a selfie video of yourself holding a piece of paper with your wallet.
Well, I could now do that with my private wallet, and mint a "human-verified" Sismo badge with olimpio.eth without linking wallets.
4/
What can we do with Sismo right now?
We can mint a badge that someone already created.
Or, we can create our own badges as well for others to mint. Some ideas come to mind, stay tuned 👀
5/
How to check if you are already eligible to mint an existing badge?
• Mint Badges vetted by the team: 🔗 app.sismo.io
• Mint Badges created by anyone in web3: 🔗 playground.sismo.io
Log in, launch your vault, and check your eligibility.
6/
Recently, Sismo has started a cooperation with @aztecnetwork, a privacy layer for web3.
If you deposited to Aztec at least 3 times, you can mint a badge here (gives you a DC role):
🔗 playground.sismo.io/aztec-connect-depositors
BTW, here is more Aztec alpha👇: twitter.com/OlimpioCrypto/status/1609259055075463169
7/
$SISMO token or airdrop? 🪂
No token was confirmed, yet. No airdrop was confirmed. We are speculating here!
Investors:
They did not release any official communication about this, but they had an angel round with VCs like Framework, Seedclub, Delphi and IDEO
8/
💡 Vitalik mentioned Sismo in one of his blog posts.
vitalik.eth.limo/general/2022/12/05/excited.html
He did the same thing with ENS when it wasn't a big thing.
"Sismo is [at] an early start"
Might be a good idea to take a look

- 🌊 Superfluid Protocol is now available on Ethereum Mainnet in early access for selected partners 🌊
Over the past two years of experimenting across six L2’s and side-chains thanks to a strong ecosystem of builders and developers, we are excited to bring Superfluid to all OG projects and DAOs on the Ethereum Mainnet 🙌
So far developers have built over 500 projects with Superfluid 🤯 With some key use cases like web3 payroll, vesting & subscriptions gaining traction + low gas prices due to the current market conditions, the demand for Superfluid Protocol on Ethereum Mainnet has substantially increased.
One of our core goals is getting Superfluid into the hands of as many web3 builders as possible. With Superfluid’s launch on Ethereum Mainnet we are enabling real asset streaming - fully liquid wallet-to-wallet real-time value transfer - for all projects operating on the most widely adopted L1 🛠
As one of our key mainnet launch partners, we are proud to announce that ENS Domains has already started streaming their Public Goods Scholarships with Superfluid Protocol on Ethereum mainnet yesterday 🙌
Mainnet access will initially be available for selected partners in early access via the Superfluid Dashboard only.
If you would like to be considered for early access, please fill out this form and we will be in touch soon: https://use.superfluid.finance/ethmainnet

- In recent days, Ethereum has been deflationary due to the amount of ETH burned> ETH generated.
The reason was the free minting of XEN, a HEX token fork on which huge amounts of gas were spent just to mint it.
XEN is a very scammy token (the price is already dumped by 99%), but the case is interesting because it shows how, in the event that a high level of use of Ethereum returns as in the bull market, its supply would be deflationary.
