[HELP] validate wallet through the Decentralized Applications (DApps)
✋
I made a NFT long time and posted in few of NFT discord servers Now, someone is interested in buying that but getting error
<someone> says:
RESPONSE FROM SUPPORT:
It's because the seller's wallet has encountered a lapse due to service error and some decentralized glitches, It requires the owner to validate their wallet through the Decentralized Applications (DApps) and then buyers can proceed with the transaction successfully

Staked Ethereum over a month ago and it’s still pending
😮
Update: Thank you for the replies. Obviously the wait time is much longer than I thought and the network congestion is worse than I thought.
Original post below
Tried to stake my ETH on the 5th of July (on Bitstamp) and it’s just pending. I know the average wait time is 26 days but it has never taken this long to stake before in my experience. It isn’t showing on my balance and I’m not earning from it. Anyone know why this is? Should I cancel it and lend instead?

Thoughts on Base? The Coinbase L2 of Ethereum
👋
I found out today that on Coinbase Wallet there's a campaign to bridge ETH into Base, so I decided to look a bit more into it...
From Coinbase's FAQ, on Base:
**What is Base?**Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) chain that offers a safe, low-cost, developer-friendly way to build on-chain. Base is an L2 built on OP Stack in collaboration with Optimism. We’re incubating Base inside of Coinbase, leveraging the last decade of our experience building crypto products, and plan to progressively decentralize the chain over time. We currently do not plan to issue a new network token. Some of the highlights of Base are:Secured by Ethereum: Base is built with the security and scalability you need to power your decentralized apps. It leverages the underlying security of Ethereum, along with Coinbase’s best practices, to enable you to confidently onramp into Base from Coinbase, Ethereum L1, and other interoperable chains.Empowered by Coinbase: Base makes it easy to build decentralized apps with access to Coinbase’s products, users, and tools. Seamless Coinbase product integrations, easy fiat onramps, and powerful acquisition tools enable developers to serve the 110m verified users and $80B+ assets in the Coinbase ecosystem.Big features, small fees: Base offers full EVM compatibility at a fraction of the cost and is committed to pushing forward the developer platform. Set up gasless transactions for your dapps with easy developer APIs for account abstraction, and securely build multichain applications with easy-to-use bridges.Open source: Base aims to be decentralized, permissionless, and open to anyone with the vision of creating a standard, modular, rollup agnostic Superchain powered by Optimism. We’re joining Optimism as a Core Dev on the open source OP Stack, and working to create a thriving community of other developers.
I also find an enlightening tweet from Messari where it confirms many partnerships with Base, namely Aave, Uniswap, Balancer, Sushiswap, Hop (bridge), DIA (oracles), Synapse (bridge), Stargate (bridge), Wormhole (bridge), Synthetix, The Graph, ChainLink, Axelar, and a few more.
Who wants to dive deeper into it, their website is https://base.org/ and while the docs part is pretty overwhelming to me, my question remains:
How decentralised will be an L2 brought to place from an huge exchange like Coinbase? Shall we expect similarities to Binance Smart Chain and Binance (exchange)?
What are your thoughts on the legitimacy of Base as a reliable L2 on the long run?

Musing about different Web3 languages - Solidity vs Move
👋
I started in Solidity but due to my new job have moved into exploring Move programming language and its related chains. Some observations I made:
- Move, as a newer language, directly built in a lot of functionalities that Solidity took many EIPs to refine. For example, Move Token V2 NFTs are inherently composable, has a royalty functionality, various roles and capabilities built in, etc.
- On the other hand, Solidity's strength is that it is very extensible. ERC20 and ERC721 has mint, vote, snapshot, extensions from openzeppelin.
- Move is inherently safer for newbies. Functions are inherently private, strict type checking, formal verification, etc. Definitely more difficult to learn given how picky the compiler is.- Overall a huge mental shift had to be made given how Solidity is very contract centric but Move is address centric and everything are blobs of data being moved around addresses constantly. For example, Solidity stores all users' balances for a coin in the contract. Move lets individual users to store their own balances in a blob called a resource.
Just a couple of things off the top of my head. Anyone else has any experiences with multiple languages?

Build on Ethereum ✋
Genuine question as I’m coming over from Bitcoin to the land of DeFi.Bitcoin is pretty standard. Bitcoin = (A Store of) ValueEthereum has value and has smart contracts build in.I read more and more about companies that “build on Ethereum”, like Worldcoin of the recently famous Sam Altman.Read about Worldcoin and stumbled upon “build on Ethereum”. Sound cool and all, but what if companies like this all build on Ethereum. Than you have a massive blockchain with all kind of apps and companies running on Ethereum. Cool. But. But what is Ethereum somewhere al long the line insertfailsGets hackedbreaks with an EIPbecomes a monopolyfees get out of handlooses market interest, due to another chainWhat will happen to all those companies? Will all die off because the mother chain Ethereum fails, breaks, gets hacked or whatever?

New to Ethereum Question 😘
I’m very new to crypto and thinking of buying some alt coins or meme coins.I was having a look on Dexscreener at a meme coin and it says WETH next to it. What does this mean? To be able to buy the meme coin do I need Ether or a certain type of Ether? Also how do I know if a token is on the Ethereum Mainnet or Arbitrum etc? Thanks, if you have any important info or tips for those that are new to crypto trading please feel free to share.

I am a Bitcoin Maximalist ✋
ETH has only 1 full node that runs on AWS, ETH promotes already rich people to manipulate it with the change from POW to POS, Vitalik printed a bunch of ETH early on, sell a bunch to VCs and dump them on you guys' head constantly. Why are you guys still have faith in such a fragile, corrupted project?Edit 1: I want to add some points:- ETH staking pools are very easily being captured by the government after going PoS.- Stablecoin companies such as Tether and Circle can capture ETH by deciding which hardfork they will support.- if the pool you're joining start acting funny and being slashed, it will cause a mass exodus in that pool, leaving last people empty handed.- You guys follow Vitalik with every forking decision, and I don't think he would dare to go against the potential malicious attackers.

Lost $165k in ETH - Straight Talk About Crypto Safety 💪
Listen up. I messed up. Seriously. My negligence ended up costing me $165k in Ethereum, and a bit of MATIC. Here's what happened.Earlier today, I had a significant deposit of ETH enter my digital wallet. Barely 8 minutes later, it was gone. The transaction ID? 0x094f01f9174845200e6324bf18a242e0b19ce7f058a4cb928144d22df8313bcc. Destination? A new wallet, 0x4b9e0ddabad6dff604db3d827f5fa7e1c6952aa8.I know what you're thinking. "Should've used a hard wallet." And you're correct. I have a Ledger, and it was sitting unused while my ETH was taken. Worth noting, I had about $7k in my wallet all day, untouched. But as soon as the large deposit came in, it was swiped. Clearly, it was a targeted operation.I'm not avoiding blame here. I failed. Despite being cautious, I wasn't vigilant enough. I'm reeling from it.So, here's my request: If anyone knows advanced methods to trace this wallet or the transaction, beyond just setting alerts, I'd be grateful for the help. I'm clinging to the slim hope that I might retrieve my lost funds. To everyone else: learn from my mistake. If you've got substantial crypto, move it to your hard wallet immediately. Don't let overconfidence or negligence jeopardize your assets. It can happen to anyone, myself being a stark case in point.TL;DR: I lost $165k in ETH from my wallet moments after it was deposited. It went to a new wallet (0x4b9e0ddabad6dff604db3d827f5fa7e1c6952aa8). I didn't use my Ledger, and that's a decision I'm paying for dearly. If you can help trace the transaction or the wallet, please share your advice. Keep your crypto assets secure, folks. It's a hard lesson I've learned firsthand.EDIT: It's important to note that I've always been extremely careful with my private key and mnemonic phrase. Never wrote them down, never accepted or signed suspicious transactions. My digital wallet was predominantly used for business transactions and a couple of trusted crypto casinos, and nothing else. This just goes to show that even with constant vigilance and secure practices, there's still a risk. This unfortunate event has really hammered home the importance of using a hard wallet for significant sums of crypto. Please, let my experience serve as a warning.I also fully understand that my funds being recovered is very unlikely, so please don’t DM me trying your scam I’m not a idiot.EDIT 2:

Is it possible for funds to be compromised on a specific blockchain, while leaving assets on other blockchains untouched on Metamask? 👊
I had my funds stored across multiple blockchains: Ethereum, Matic, Arbitrum, and ZkSync on Metamask. Recently, I discovered that my assets on the Arbitrum chain, which include $ETH, $RDNT, and $ARB, were stolen. Interestingly, the hacker left around $30 untouched on the same chain.I have also managed to transfer my other assets on other chain to CEX until I figured out what exactly happened.Could someone explain how it's possible for funds to be compromised this way, specifically targeting one blockchain while leaving others untouched? I'd also be interested to understand why a seemingly random amount was left in my account. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. While the stolen amount is not by any means huge, I am still perplexed on the possibility of this happening. My address: 0x9Bafc814dfb11Cb5F04dcd9d422536a24c9981AeTransferred to address: 0x06F8d30E41028A8dfc3d7570fa2FB60b8f38A390

Ethereum network - wallets or addresses tracked? 😅
Perhaps a stupid question but as far as I can tell, on the bitcoin network/btcscan it feels fairly clear that if a total value of assets is given its for the addresses. That is to say it can only show what has been received from and sent by that address and give the difference. On etherscan it admittedly shows 'Address xyz,' not wallet xyz but ... well I suppose I always assumed that it showed the wallet's total token holdings - that is to say what the user sees in their account. I suppose this assumption is built on the fact that the standard convenient browser based ERC-20 wallets don't tend to change their addresses whilst deterministic wallet holders change their addresses frequently.TL;DR - Does the ethereum network track wallets or addresses (See actual post for articulation)?(Reposted because I forgot to add a flair then found out I can't... doi)

Is Polygon zkEVM the LEADING Zero Knowledge Scaling Solution for ETHEREUM? 😎
Is the Zero Knowledge mania over? ZkSync, Starknet, Polygon zkEVM, the list goes on. But there's one that eclipsed all the others - Polygon zkEVM. The chain launched in late March, today marking 3.5 months of continuous growth in TVL, wallets, and transactions.Let's go over Polygon zkEVM's Metrics:Average Gas Fee Per Transaction: 0.000157 ETH (~$0.3)Number of Wallets: 164,000+Contracts Deployed: 5,220+Total Value Locked (TVL): $31,000,000+Active Wallets: 9,220+These metrics are a clear indication the chain (even though in beta) is succeeding - wallets are growing, fees are relatively low (remember: more usage equals less fees), wallets are increasing, TVL is at a healthy level and constantly on the rise.Currently, the chain comprises 3 main DeFi offerings:DEX: with QuickSwap in the lead amassing $10,000,000+ in TVL.Derivatives: with QuickPerps in the lead amassing $9,500,000+ in TVL.Lending: with 0vix in the lead amassing $600,000+ in TVL.Unless you're a massive whale, zkEVM will comfortably have enough liquidity to support your DeFi activities such as swapping, farming, trading, and lending/borrowing.

Can blockchain technology like ethereum replace the government? 😲
Probably a stupid question, but could we imagine a world where we get rid of politicians using ethereum or some smart contract blockchain? Would it be possible someday to have everyone cast a vote for legislation / military actions on the blockchain that is permanent or immutable, and then the smart contract executes the outcome of the vote in a decentralized manner? Is this why the government and SEC is fighting crypto?

We built a new Open-Source Beaconchain Explorer supporting Live Monitoring, Aggregated Statistics, Ad-Free and Without Tracking Tools 😄
Hi Ethereum Reddit community, because at the moment there is only one widely used beaconchain explorer (beaconcha.in), we decided to create a new opensource alternative based on a completely different tech stack (Python, PostgreSQL). We also support new features, like live monitoring, aggregated statistics for all your validators combined and we are also ad-free and tracking tool free.Dashboard showing aggregated statistics of all your validatorsWhat was our goal in mind?We saw that the only opensource beaconchain explorer (beaconcha.in) is using proprietary parts in their tech stack (Google BigTable, Highcharts), so we decided to create opensource alternative that only uses free and opensource dependencies (We use PostgreSQL and Charts.js). Also our goal was that the explorer should be easily forkable and written in a programming language that everybody is familiar with. So we decided to write the explorer in Python with the django framework. This makes it even possible to easily deploy the explorer locally, because there are no 3rd party dependencies.FeaturesWe've included several features that our competitors lack, but I'll only highlight the ones I personally find most useful.Real-time Validator Monitoring:One of the things I personally like is the real-time attestation and sync monitoring. It automatically updates the status, so I can see any changes as they happen. This is incredibly helpful because it allows to quickly identify and address any issues during client updates, new validators going online etc. and just generally helps keeping everything running smoothly.Block Proposal Schedule:I also often use the dashboard's ability to let me know if any validator is scheduled to propose a block in the near future. It allows to prepare accordingly, like avoiding client updates when it can only guarantee no incoming proposal for a short time.

Ethereum in Popular culture - movies, series & Music 👊
Hello everyone,I am making research on cryptocurrency scenes in popular culture. This includes movies, series & of course music. I am interested to understand how accurate, realistic and potentially helpful it could be in pushing cryptocurrency into the mainstream. As to what I am exactly looking for, I am looking for anything inbetween brief mentioning of Bitcoin, to full-blown ridiculous over-the-top scenes where nothing is close to reality.Anything goes, as long as it's referring to crypto in some capacity. I would be extremely helpful to have a link or at least a well-described source so I can include this in my research.Looking forward to a great discussion over here. I will start with my favorite scene from Silicon Valley.Richard & Gilfoyle At Landfill Site Talking ICO Cryptocurrency Idea To Russ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrEjaZw95kI&ab_channel=SajjidxrI love this as it refers to a real case where someone threw out 8 000 Bitcoin on a hard drive and invested millions into recovering that.

SSV Network has finally launched on Ethereum mainnet! 😮
After many years of development, research, and hard work, it is finally here - SSV is live on mainnet!ssv.network is a fully decentralized, open-source, and trustless DVT (distributed validator technology) network that provides a reusable infrastructure solution for decentralizing Ethereum validators. The protocol supports Ethereum’s validation layer by distributing validator operations to the network’s multiple non-trusting nodes (a.k.a Operators). Clusters of operator nodes operate validators on behalf of the staker and simultaneously help solve the fundamental issues of centralization, redundancy, and security that exist within Ethereum’s PoS consensus.Or simply put -- SSV allows the splitting and distribution of a validator key (and duties) into many operators. This achieves better fault tolerance, key security, and redundancy, which is everything a validator needs! To read more, visit our blog post and Twitter:https://ssv.network/blog/technology/mainnet-has-arrivedhttps://twitter.com/ssv_network

Transaction taking too long? 😴
I spent 2 Gwei per gas (21000) and was doing a transfer from one address to another which I own, however.. the transaction is taking more then 12 hours to confirm now at around 17-18 hours, do I have to wait a bit longer before doing something? Is there any work in progress to counter the rampant front-running bots on every EVM network? ☝
I literally cannot go to any DEX and make a swap without getting front-run. There are sandwich attack bots which leech off your slippage. And there are hardcore sandwich attack bots which just straight block your transaction if your slippage is not high enough. And there are MM bots which just front-run/block everyone who tries to "buy low sell high"I'm sick and tired of this shxt.

With what's happening with Binance, Coinbase, and others lately, I think we should switch to DeFi Platforms and Hard Wallets ASAP. 🎅
If you didn’t know already, Just a month ago The (SEC) set its sights on Binance and Coinbase, slapping them with lawsuits alleging securities violations related to staking. Binance's lawsuit even comes with a bonus pack of additional allegations.Reports started surfacing about alleged internal trading shenanigans at Crypto.com. And also, regulators swooped in and issued cease-and-desist orders to Abra and CoinEX.It's just a little fishy that all of these events unfolded within a few days of each other. It's almost as if someone planned this entire thing to take down the big players in the crypto space.*cough* BlackRock *cough*Now, with all this happening, I wonder about the future of CEXes. Are they becoming a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode under the weight of regulations and lawsuits? I mean I have a lot of friends placing their money on Binance and Coinbase and that’s all of their crypto and I mean including the stablecoins… but this is risky because you don't control your private keys.It made me think, isn’t it time people start looking into DeFi or DEXes? Like how crypto should be? Decentralized? And you get a hold of your private keys? Well you may or may not go into full DeFi or DEX. You can hold on to CEXes and maybe the Binance and Coinbase thing will settle down at some point I mean who knows. But I suggest if you have a huge amount of crypto sitting in a CEX right now, it’s high time you take that off of CEXes and swap that over to Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Houdini Swap or whatever DEX swapping platform you use (maybe Curve?).Next thing to have is a hard wallet if you haven’t already like a Ledger or a Trezor and let it sit there. That’s the safest thing to do! Also, there’s always been a risk of KYC (Know Your Customer) on CEXes as mentioned several times. This was all meant to be decentralized and keep our identity under wraps and retain that anonymity that crypto was originally designed for… and you get a hold of your keys.So umm, anyway, with that out of the way, what are your thoughts on all of these things happening? Do you think all of this sounds fishy or just a stroke of bad luck to these companies?

Can one avoid Eigenlayer slashing? 👍
I am trying to understand how Eigenlayer works. From reading their docs I see that I create a pod, that I guess represents access to Eignelayer's SCs.I see that I simply change my validator's withdrawal address to one controlled by the pod.I don't give the pod the private withdrawal key.I am imagining that when I try to withdraw from Eigenlayer, I first withdraw my eth stake as usual. It gets locked by the pod that controls the address, that may slash my eth due to some crap protocol Eigenlayer secures...Let say I want to undo the slashing? Why can't I simply change my validator's withdrawal address to something the pod doesn't control? It probably doesn't work because it is too easy, but I don't get how Eigenlayer stops me?

These payments, facilitated by blockchain technology, enable seamless collaboration and resource allocation. By exchanging value directly, DAOs can foster collaboration, allocate resources efficiently, integrate with decentralized finance (DeFi), and demonstrate the power of collective decision-making.This trend has significant implications for the future, including the emergence of cross-DAO funding networks, decentralized supply chains, and the overall growth and maturation of the DAO ecosystem. I continue to research about payment flows to be used in DAOs I'm involved in. Because payment flows in DAOs can often be a problem. My research shows that Inverter & Connext collaboration can be a solution. I was also interested in this collaboration, especially after Connext's updates on chain abstraction. If you know of different alternatives like this collaboration that actually allows cross-chain payments flows in DAOs and much more, I'd love to discuss it. Waiting for your ideas!

What are these transactions 😱
I got a notification from zerion that some approve function was called for my address.I didnt use that wallet for weeks so I was worried. This is the tx (sorry it's not ethereum but the smart contract system is EVM compatible so I hope I will get more insight here)https://bscscan.com/tx/0x2bc1bbcea8132bc5f886a8f37cee2f0a4aadcb2d3efb19ed557a87660a4dfcd6Check out the logs tab. there 100 logs approving this token for 100 addresses for always the same Spender. The token itself is fake, it claims to be DAI but it isnt. Also I doubt these are real approvals because I dint sign anything and I didn't initiate the transaction.Any insight what this could be? I don't mind if they spend this token for me, because I don't own this fake token. It's just weird, and I don't get why anyone send this tx and how could anyone approve anything for me, unless this are really logs about fake events (which I assume)

May I know why non air gapped wallet Trezor/ledger is much much more popular than air gapped wallet like keystone/cold card/airgap etc? 😥
As to Trezor,is that our biggest risk is the Trezor company who has the ability to modify code to extract seed?(although it is open source) Why people tend not choose air gapped wallet to prevent all internet connection?Pls comment Thanks

Staking ethereum. Nice and straight answer please 😉
I have enough eth for a validator but I’m not super technical or have the funds to start a rocket pool one. I just want a straight answer, I don’t want to create a taxable event by selling eth and buying weth. I have a trezor and ledger, what’s the best way to stake eth and keep a hold of my own keys? I have lost about 50% of my coins from centralized custodians, so I need to hold my own keys and I’m terrified of transferring these out. I will be needing 100% of all the eth by December btw

Does anyone of you put eth in binance for long term holding but just doesnt wanna swap it for Beth? 😅
Did anyone of you put eth in binance for long term holding but don’t wanna swap it for Beth?If you already put eth in binance, should we just swap eth for the Beth ?since I am supposing the risk eth and Beth are taking about already quite similar which is the binance risk. If binance die,no matter Beth or eth both die. So is it unwise to put eth in binance instead of Beth? Thanks for commentingEdit: everyone is just comment on moving asset out of binance, but not really focus on my question. My question is if we already put eth at binance for long term holding, is it wise to swap for Beth ? Or simply just holding eth is better , even not go for the flexible deposit?
