- I had an awesome time streaming from the studio on Monday! We listened to stems from my previous Sound Cycle drops, added new drums on the spot with the Maschine and counted down to the release of "Crossing the Threshold" - you can mint your edition to keep the adventure going https://www.sound.xyz/iamkabuki/crossing-the-threshold
- We are live! https://www.the402.xyz/profile/iamkabuki
- So it's decided: on Monday the 6th I will host a release space to celebrate my fourth sound.xyz drop starting 11:30 PST // 14:30 ET // 20:30 CET // 04:30 JST. The stream will be accessible for everyone, but the chat is token gated for my Lens followers and collectors of my previous Sound Cycle drops https://www.the402.xyz/profile/iamkabuki
- So after my recent live stream experiment I'm planning to skip the obligatory Twitter Space for my next Soundxyz release and instead host a live stream. The benefits are clear: high-quality audio, a chat function, and the ability to mint directly from the interface. I'm now wondering what time works best for you?

Black Dave aka Dave Curry is a music artist, producer, rapper, photographer, and innovator in the realms of web3 music and NFTs.
He’s a contributor at leading music DAOs such as Water & Music, and shares ideas about crypto and music at his Mirror publication. He helped to found a collaborative music project Amethyst from his hometown in Charleston, South Carolina.
His latest release Black Dave Token is an audacious project which aims to support his musical journey raising 250 ETH with 1 million NFTs.
In this episode, we talk platforms for minting music such as ZORA, Catalog and Sound. Dynamics of scarcity in music NFTs ~ 1/1s as fine art and editions as building blocks for communities. And his belief that we should value artists by their potential, not their present moment.

- I was hesitant at first to purchase music NFTs: I'm not a collector, and I don't consider them a financial asset. However, my perspective on this has changed - I now see it as a possibility to invest in the culture I want to be surrounded by, and provide artists that I'd like to succeed with runway for their projects 🛫
- Most of my art installations are inspired by trips to the local hardware store - understanding the creative potential behind Lens protocol gives me that same kind of inspiration
