- If you are a creator on Lens, sharing some of my thoughts on community, brand building and how it is relevant to your work.
tldr; building a community = building a brand
Working previously with a lot of web2 brands on web3 projects, I learned that the environment for building, growing and sustaining successful brands has become very oversaturated and highly competitive. There is a lot of important exploration happening around how web2 brands can use web3 tech to effectively modernize their business models, and there are a lot of great case studies like the Nike X RTFKT collabs and acquisition, LVMH brand experiments and more.
What I believe, is there should be just as much talk about why this is so big for artists and creatives. Lens has all the right infrastructure for a creator to build and operate as a brand.
A few steps on what this could look like:
1. Brand Content: Start small, publish quality content often and experiment with different file formats
2. Brand Awareness: Become highly attuned at finding other talented creators in your niche = effectively become a curator of quality content and community members (a new paradigm only possible in web3)
3. Brand Monetization: Once you have built enough traction, empower your audience to collect your work and make money with you using the collect and mirror feature settings.
4. Next-Level Brand Building (and my personal favorite): With Lens, you are multi-platform as soon as you sign up. Use that to carry your brand across platforms instantly as relevant to the work you are producing.
