I feel like web3 social media needs to work on recommendation engines rather than focusing on marketing itself as content creator friendly social media. You can be the best app but without anyone using you in the same way people use Facebook or LinkedIn, you will not attract more people!
I have a feeling that without "threadoors" from twitter and actual alpha, #web3 social media will be lagging. Reason people use Twitter is not because they care about content creators: it is literally to get some info. Apps built on @lensprotocol still need to attract the creators that are "interesting" for readers - why else to switch from web2 social media to web3 social media? @stani.lens what are your thoughts on that? Why should "consumers" of content shift to web3 social media? We know that it is not only creators that make the social media go viral.
Problem of @korudao.lens is access of spammers to the account. People that don't add value through their posts got access to do account by buying it's Nft. Approach web2 team would take would be to put some centralized curation team. What can decentalized platform do in this case? Will be doing research on process of filtering spam in decentralized content platform. Will be interesting to see what platforms can implement. @stani.lens how is Lens planning to work on this?
Starting to write my threads on @lenster.lens and @orbapp.lens aside from Twitter. @lenster.lens and decentralized social media is the future of content creation. So much space to grow! So many empty gardens to fill with the content trees that aren't noticed as much in centralized social media apps.
@ethereum.lens joining Lens. Bullish on cross protocol interactions!
When Facebook started its goal was to connect people but it turned into a dirty tool that has more noise than actual benefit. I wonder whether one can build a social media app for networking only so that false info, useless adds and many more aren't spread around. Maybe that requires platforms to put some charges per post, or find a new technique to stop the noise and spread the real content - the purpose social media was designed for.
Is it me or does it feel like what @lensprotocol and apps on it are building is like early days of web2 social media? We are literally like max 30k people and it feels so early.
@orbapp.lens would be nice to have quests for community to finish to be able to get new invites. This way you can not only engage the community but also let engaged community members invite more active folks.
Exploring blockchain world, just found out about Orb. First post here!
