- ## Recent Developments in Web3 Gaming
Web3 gaming is a rapidly evolving sector with new developments emerging all the time. Here are some of the most notable recent developments:
**1. Increased adoption of play-to-earn (P2E) models:**
P2E models have gained significant traction in recent years, allowing players to earn cryptocurrency or other digital assets by participating in gameplay. This has attracted a new wave of players to the space, particularly in developing countries where P2E can provide a valuable source of income.
**2. The rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in gaming:**
NFTs have become a major force in Web3 gaming, enabling players to own and trade unique in-game items. This has created new opportunities for monetization and player engagement, and has led to the development of new game genres, such as collectible card games and role-playing games with NFT-based characters and items.
**3. The emergence of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) in gaming:**
DAOs are being used to govern and manage Web3 gaming projects, giving players more control over the games they play. This is a significant step towards a more decentralized and democratic gaming ecosystem.
**4. The development of interoperable gaming platforms:**
Interoperable gaming platforms allow players to use their in-game assets across multiple games. This is breaking down the silos between games and creating a more unified and immersive gaming experience.
**5. Growing interest from major game publishers:**
Major game publishers are starting to take notice of Web3 gaming and are exploring ways to integrate blockchain technology into their games. This could lead to wider adoption of Web3 gaming principles and a broader audience for blockchain-based games.
**Here are some specific examples of recent developments in Web3 gaming:**
**The launch of Axie Infinity:** Axie Infinity is a P2E game that has gained immense popularity, particularly in the Philippines. Players collect, breed, and battle NFT-based creatures called Axies. The game has generated millions of dollars in revenue and has helped to introduce many people to the concept of Web3 gaming.
**The rise of The Sandbox:** The Sandbox is a metaverse platform that allows players to create and own their own virtual worlds. The platform has attracted a large community of creators and has been used to host a variety of events and experiences.
**The development of Immutable X:** Immutable X is a Layer 2 scaling solution for the Ethereum blockchain that is specifically designed for NFT gaming. It offers low transaction fees and fast transaction speeds, which makes it ideal for P2E games.
**The launch of Illuvium:** Illuvium is an open-world adventure game with a P2E model. Players capture and collect creatures called Illuvials, which can be traded or used in battle. The game is still in development, but it has attracted a lot of attention from the gaming community.
These are just a few examples of the many exciting developments happening in Web3 gaming. The sector is still in its early stages, but it has the potential to revolutionize the gaming industry and create new and innovative gaming experiences.

- High Gas Fees: Transactions on the Ethereum network require payment of gas fees, which can become prohibitively expensive as network congestion and demand increase, making small transactions uneconomical.
Emergence of Competitors: With the rise of other blockchain platforms, Ethereum faces competition from competitors that may offer better performance, scalability, and security.
Governance and Upgrades: Ethereum's governance and upgrade process can be challenging, as decision-making involves various interests and opinions within the community, potentially leading to disagreements and delays.
- Disadvantages of Ethereum:
Scalability Issues: One of Ethereum's main challenges is scalability, with limited network throughput, slow transaction speeds, and potential scalability issues as user numbers and transaction volumes increase.
Security Risks: While Ethereum's smart contracts offer powerful functionality, they are also susceptible to security vulnerabilities and attacks, which can result in fund losses and other issues.
- Scalability: While Ethereum still faces scalability challenges, it is actively exploring and implementing various scaling solutions such as sharding and Layer 2 solutions to improve network throughput and performance.
Rich Ecosystem: The Ethereum ecosystem comprises numerous projects, developer tools, wallets, and exchanges, making it easier and more convenient to build, deploy, and use DApps.
- Smart Contract Functionality: Ethereum was the first blockchain platform designed for smart contracts, enabling developers to create various decentralized applications (DApps) across multiple industries.
Wide Support and Community: Ethereum boasts a large developer community and broad support, making it one of the preferred platforms for building blockchain projects.
Programmability: Ethereum utilizes the Turing-complete programming language Solidity, allowing developers to write complex smart contracts for more flexible and feature-rich DApps.

- Imagine a thin slice of fresh bread, tenderly toasted to a golden crisp. The salmon notes of the most tender salmon dance on it, melting on the tongue and enveloping you in a light sea breeze. On the sides of the magnificent salmon there are thickened layers of cream from a pate of fresh eggs, which gave their yellow tenderness. This is not just a sandwich. This is a work of art that embodies all the taste and elegance of marine nature. #sandwich #salmon #poached eggs #gastronomy

- While blockchain technology has made progress in many areas, there are still some challenges such as scalability, standardization, legal, and regulatory issues. Over time, with continued development and adoption of the technology, it is expected that blockchain technology will further proliferate and play a role in more domains.
- Government and Public Services: Some governments are beginning to utilize blockchain technology to improve public services, including elections, land registration, social welfare distribution, among other areas. The transparency and immutability of blockchain make it a potential solution for addressing some issues in government services.
- Art and Entertainment Industry: Blockchain technology is used for managing digital content and copyright protection. Some artists and creators are leveraging blockchain to prove ownership and authenticity of digital works and ensure they receive rightful royalties.
- Digital Identity Authentication: Blockchain technology is also being used for digital identity authentication to provide more secure and reliable identity verification solutions. This technology is being widely explored across various industries, including government, finance, healthcare, among others.
- Supply Chain Management: Blockchain technology is widely used in the field of supply chain management to achieve product traceability, transparency, and anti-counterfeiting. Many companies are leveraging blockchain to improve information sharing and verification processes in the supply chain, thereby enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
- Finance and Banking: Many financial institutions and banks have begun exploring and adopting blockchain technology to improve payment systems, clearing and settlement processes, enhance transaction speed, and reduce costs. Some banks are also experimenting with issuing their own digital currencies or utilizing blockchain technology for cross-border payments.
- As of 2022, the adoption of blockchain technology has significantly increased globally, although the extent of adoption varies across different regions and industries. Here are some observations regarding the level of blockchain technology adoption:
- Web3 Social Products
Web3 social products are a new category of social media platforms that are built on decentralized technologies, such as blockchain and peer-to-peer networking. These platforms aim to give users more control over their data and privacy, and to create a more open and democratic social media experience.
Some of the key features of Web3 social products include:
Decentralization: Web3 social platforms are not controlled by any single entity, but are instead run by a network of computers. This makes them more resistant to censorship and manipulation.
Data ownership: Users own their own data on Web3 social platforms. This means that they can control who has access to their data, and how it is used.
Privacy: Web3 social platforms are designed to be more privacy-friendly than traditional social media platforms. This is because they do not collect user data in the same way that traditional social media platforms do.
Openness: Web3 social platforms are open to anyone who wants to use them. This means that there are no barriers to entry, and anyone can create and share content.
Community: Web3 social platforms are built around communities of users. These communities are often formed around shared interests or values.
Some examples of Web3 social products include:
Steemit: A decentralized blogging platform that rewards users with cryptocurrency for their content.
Diaspora: A decentralized social network that is owned and controlled by its users.
Mastodon: A decentralized microblogging platform that is similar to Twitter.
DeFine: A NFT social platform that allows users to connect with others based on their shared interests in NFTs.
Rarible: A NFT marketplace where users can buy, sell, and create NFTs.
SuperRare: A NFT marketplace for high-quality and unique NFTs.
Web3 social is still in its early stages of development, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with each other online. By giving users more control over their data and privacy, and by creating a more open and democratic social media experience, Web3 social products can help to create a more just and equitable online world.

This will be my first music release here on lens.
It's an early demo of my song "This Song" which came out in 2017. I probably wrote this on the road around 2015/2016. It has a lot of the final ideas, but totally different type of beat. This is what I showed Rostam, and we built from there.
It's unfinished and unpolished but it's kinda fun to look back at where ideas originated.
