- From the moment you step through the doors, you know you're in for something special. Japan is a music lover's paradise
- 3564过分会6行
- When he heard this, Tom went quite white, as if someone had dusted his face with flour.
- Never tell people 100%, tell them 70% about yourself, and 30% should be hidden
- Anyone you love can die. Any time. Cherish them
- Live life the way you want to live it. Because even people who care for you can’t be with you every step of the way.
- Fairness is **unnatural**1. Nothing is 100% fair.
- People only want to hear the good, not the bad.
- Respect yourself, because people can see if you don’t.
- Everyone has a mask and they play different ones to different people
- Once you hurt someone, they’re not likely to forget. They will always remember how much you’ve hurt them. One negligible action can have **devastating**2 consequences
- Appearances DO matter. We live in a **condemnatory**3, judgmental world.
- Life is not about facebook likes, anymore.社交网络上的点赞并不是生活的全部。
- It is impossible to please everyone. There will ALWAYS be someone who disagrees with you, and **frankly**4, you’re not living life if you don’t have enemies
- The way they treat service staff - So many people treat service industry workers like **lesser**3 humans. As if what they do is meaningless and mindless. And that could not be further from the truth. We all should be cognizant of the way we treat the lady working the cash register or the young man bagging our groceries…because it says a lot more about who we are than who they are!
- They Say Something Unpopular Because it Needs to be Said - I'm sure many of you have that friend or family member that never hesitates to say something, despite the awkwardness. I love these people.
- They Smile/Greet Strangers - Strangers can quickly become acquaintances, friends and potentially even more. I respect people who go out of their way to acknowledge strangers in a positive manner!
- They're in Good Shape - It's really difficult to hit the gym or go for a run following a long day at work. That's why I have profound respect for individuals who are disciplined and keep themselves in great shape.
- The wind howled around ivan as he closed the door of the tavern behind him. The cold was knife-sharp. He buttoned his long coat and crossed the dirt road. he could hear the captain's voice, louder than the rest, yelling after him, "five rubles, pigeon! If you live! 7
- In the morning we shall go there. If the sword is in the ground---five rubles to you!" Ivan took the sword.
- "Here, Ivan. When you get to the center of the graveyard, in front of the biggest tomb, stick the sword into the ground.
- Perhaps it was the vodka. Perhaps it was the temptation of the five gold rubles. No one knew why. Ivan,
- moistening his lips, said suddenly: "Yes, captain, I'll cross the graveyard." The tavern echoed with their disbelief. The captain **winked**6 to the men and unbuckled his sword.
- The men drank a toast: "to ivan the terrible!" They roared laughing.
- The captain cried, "a challenge, then! Cross the graveyard tonight, Ivan, and I'll give you five rubles---five gold rubles!"
- "the graveyard is nothing to cross, captain. It is nothing but earth, like all the other earth."
- You are a pigeon, Ivan. you'll walk around the graveyard in this cold---but you dare not cross it." Ivan murmured
- cruelly when the cossack captain flung his **horrid**5 challenge at their victim.
- Ivan's weak protest only encouraged them, and they **jeered**
- Ivan's mother was scared by a canary when she carried him in her womb. "Ivan the terrible---Ivan the timid one.
- Late one winter's night, when bitter wind and snow beat against the tavern, customers took up the familiar mockery
- on the other side. That path would save many minutes, but he had never taken it---not even in the full light of noon.
- Ivan never crossed the graveyard to get to his lonely **shack**
- Every night ivan stopped in at the **tavern**1 which was one the edge of the village **graveyard**
- Ivan was a timid little man---so timid that the villages called him "pigeon" or mocked him with the title "Ivan the terrible."
- But I don't want to be directed to have a nice day. Nor do I want a box of a hundred screws when all I need is one
- At a warehouse I had no choice but to buy a box of a hundred screws, and, if I were fortunate, receive at the cash register the stock admonition: "Have a nice day
- for a nickel -- no charge for the accompanying pleasant conversation.
- But otherwise, no: I could buy a single screw at Park's, and have it lovingly deposited in a little bag,
- In one way, yes -- if I intended to buy a big-ticket item like a snowblower or chain saw
- Was it more expensive to shop at Park's as opposed to a warehouse?
