- ✨ **Introducing Glass Protocol ✨**
gm lens fam ☀️ For those of you that don’t know us, we’re building a protocol for decentralized video on Ethereum.
We’re passionate about video. We believe in having true ownership over the videos you make, how they’re seen, and how they’re monetized. That’s why we’re building an open, permissionless protocol for owning, distributing, and building communities around video.
And that’s why we’re constantly experimenting and building with new Web3 communities to help us further our mission… which brings us to Lens. We’re excited to build more ways for the video creators in the Lens community to create amazing videos with Glass.
Oh—and one more thing. We just announced The Glass Pass, an NFT that represents your creator identity, and your key to owning and creating videos on Glass. You can read more about it here: https://blog.glass.xyz
And to show our love to the Lens community...
🏆 **Anyone who collects this post will be recorded on The Glass Pass claim allowlist** 🏆
And if you vibe with our mission, check out our Manifesto: https://glass.xyz/manifesto
People who **sign it and** **share it to Lens** will also get early access to claim The Glass Pass.
We’re excited to be here and can’t wait to share what we have in store! We're just getting started✌️

- Nobody asked, but here’s my 2 MATIC on Instagram’s recent announcement concerning the shutdown of their short lived NFT pilot:
If you’re in web3 and you’re surprised or disappointed about Instagram sunsetting their digital collectibles initiative, that therein lies the issue.
You cannot say that you are working towards mass adoption without considering the wants and needs of traditional consumers.
Ask 10 people that you know outside of the web3 space how they felt about Instagram removing NFTs and you’re likely to receive one of three responses:
1) I didn’t know that they had them
2) I didn’t care that they had them
3) I didn’t like that they had them
Digital collectibles on Instagram predominantly appealed to folks who were already leveraging blockchain, but they didn’t really move the needle for their web2 consumer base, aka 99.9% of their users.
I personally found it exciting that Instagram decided to dabble with NFTs, similarly to how Reddit, Inc. and Spotify are doing so. Nonetheless, their decision to reevaluate shouldn’t be condemned.
It’s still early. The way NFTs have been introduced to the general public has been less than ideal. And it certainly doesn’t help that seemingly every week, there is a new crisis in crypto.
We have a very long way to go before mass adoption becomes a feasibility.
Instead of being upset by setbacks, let’s shift our focus to how we approach creating opportunities for web2 natives to participate in the web3 landscape by meeting them where they are.
More importantly, this is obviously a great opportunity for @lensprotocol.lens to further solidify itself as the leader in digital collectibles on social.
I had the privilege of being a member of the latest Lens @creators.lens accelerator cohort and I’m confident that despite market conditions, Lens will continue to facilitate innovative ways for creators of all kinds to thrive in the world of web3 social.
I’m looking forward to witnessing how the landscape will continue to evolve over the course of the next few quarters. And I’m even more excited about being an early adopter during this time.
Here’s to the future of the intersection of digital collectibles and social media 🥂

Joint Statement by Treasury, Federal Reserve, and FDIC Department of the Treasury
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
For release at 6:15 p.m. EDT
Share
Washington, DC -- The following statement was released by Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen, Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome H. Powell, and FDIC Chairman Martin J. Gruenberg:
Today we are taking decisive actions to protect the U.S. economy by strengthening public confidence in our banking system. This step will ensure that the U.S. banking system continues to perform its vital roles of protecting deposits and providing access to credit to households and businesses in a manner that promotes strong and sustainable economic growth.
After receiving a recommendation from the boards of the FDIC and the Federal Reserve, and consulting with the President, Secretary Yellen approved actions enabling the FDIC to complete its resolution of Silicon Valley Bank, Santa Clara, California, in a manner that fully protects all depositors. Depositors will have access to all of their money starting Monday, March 13. No losses associated with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank will be borne by the taxpayer.
We are also announcing a similar systemic risk exception for Signature Bank, New York, New York, which was closed today by its state chartering authority. All depositors of this institution will be made whole. As with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank, no losses will be borne by the taxpayer.
Shareholders and certain unsecured debtholders will not be protected. Senior management has also been removed. Any losses to the Deposit Insurance Fund to support uninsured depositors will be recovered by a special assessment on banks, as required by law.
Finally, the Federal Reserve Board on Sunday announced it will make available additional funding to eligible depository institutions to help assure banks have the ability to meet the needs of all their depositors.
The U.S. banking system remains resilient and on a solid foundation, in large part due to reforms that were made after the financial crisis that ensured better safeguards for the banking industry. Those reforms combined with today's actions demonstrate our commitment to take the necessary steps to ensure that depositors' savings remain safe.

- The value prop of web3 gaming is not: owning a collectible or composable sword.
Taking that sword from game to game will be possible but in practice more rare than people may suppose.
**The value in web3 gaming is the same as everything else in web3: Collaboration **
The example I give normies all the time is Fortnite: right now it’s up to Epic Games to make all the data in the Fortnite database useful and valuable. It’s up to Epic to create new seasons, new skins, new tournaments, new rules, etc.
If they start moving data to a blockchain it allows others to collaborate and make the data useful and valuable. Anyone else can create with the public database and the value still accrues to the underlying game.
If Fortnite data becomes public it means anyone could create:
-skins for top 10 players
-digital fashion empires
-digital fashion collabs (Nike, RTFKT, Adidas, Tiffany, etc)
-tournaments based on stats (the fastest killers, most accurate shooters, the longest survivors, etc)
-rewards/coupons from others
—Starbucks could give free coffee to people who wear a Starbucks skin on International Coffee Day
-apps for Fortnite players
-media based around the data analysis (Sports Center for Fortnite)
-private communities in other apps
Fortnite would become more valuable from more people accessing and making use of the data. It would become a platform upon which anyone can create and publish.
It’s ridiculous to me the amount of bad takes I hear on a daily basis, especially on NFT-specific podcasts and Twitter, about web3 gaming as if it’s a completely new thing and no one can figure it out.
The superpower of web3 is collaboration. It allows anything to become a platform. It allows people to build upon your thing. This applies to everything blockchains touch: money, media, games, supply chains, etc.
If you’re building anything in web3 I’d highly recommend to start your thinking with these principles in mind.
If you’re thinking of building another web2 clone on Lens, for example, please don’t. Please build something web2 could never do. Please build something focused on collaboration.

- gm! is this thing on? 🎙️
- SO awesome to see creators promoting their drops and paid moments on Lens, this is a fantastic use of your social graph
BUT remember - if the only time we're hearing from you on Lens is when you are asking followers to consider buying something, you're limiting your potential reach
AS a basic rule of thumb, for every "please buy/collect this" post you should have at least 4 others that are quality posts about you, your project, and things going on you want your followers to hear about
Lens is best used when you TELL THE STORY of your project BEFORE/DURING/AFTER the actual drop takes place
Like all stories, there's a beginning, middle, and end! Don't just jump to the conclusion, tell me why I should care!
An example:
i'm releasing a paid collect for a song on Lens/link to NFT drop off Lens in 1 week
i post about the project, why im doing it, who's involved
i post clips of the song, studio recording footage, pics and BTS content
i share the artwork as a 24 hr open edition
i whitelist my most engaged fans from all these posts to pre-mint the actual song
THEN i do the drop/paid collect of the full song

- The Revenue Split is here 🤑
Exciting news!
Lenstube now features revenue sharing for content creators. This allows for transparent and automated distribution of revenue among multiple accounts. 💪
For example, revenue from a video can be automatically split among the artists, producers, and other stakeholders involved in the creation. 📽️ Splits can foster a more collaborative and equitable ecosystem. 🌿
- Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.
- In addition to FactlandDAO I'm building a new #Web3 content community, Meteor. Sharing an article I wrote today about @lensprotocol and lens apps like @orbapp.lens and why I think they're winning the race to replace #Twitter with #decentralized and #composable #socialmedia alternatives. (Sorry I missed the SF meetup, @stani.lens I got covid at #ETHDenver 🙁) Feedback appreciated, and if you like it, you can sign up for our daily newsletter covering Web3, AI and new tech disrupting the creative arts and culture. https://www.thisismeteor.com/elon-musk-twitter-replacement/

- A DAO, or “Decentralized Autonomous Organization,” is a community-led entity with no central authority. It is fully autonomous and transparent: smart contracts lay the foundational rules, execute the agreed upon decisions, and at any point, proposals, voting, and even the very code itself can be publicly audited.
