I wanted to try something new. This will be my first music release here on lens. It's an early demo of my song "This Song" which came out in 2017. I probably wrote this on the road around 2015/2016. It has a lot of the final ideas, but totally different type of beat. This is what I showed Rostam, and we built from there. ORB is a mobile-first decentralized social media app built on top of the Lens. Our mission is to make web3 social media accessible to all users and creators no matter whether they know web3 or not and provide the best user experience possible. And empower creators with the best tools to create and monetize their content on their terms. **Q: What excites you about Web3?** There are so many things that excite me about web3 and the first one is the community, here is the first time we can be this close with the users. Now we are building the products along with the community and for the community. The second most exciting thing for me is the ownership of my all internet footprint. Here I am no longer controlled by centralized monopolies, I can decide for myself where and how to use my data. I believe the blockchain is the most disruptive technology since the internet itself. **Q: What tips do you have for aspiring developers in the space?** In two words JUST SHIP. The most important thing for me is shipping. We all tend to abandon most of the projects in between and I know it requires a different level of commitment to ship our work out to the world. But just do it, don’t try to create a perfect version of your project just ship the buggy one, and there is only an upside where many of the users would test your work with you! For people who just starting in web3, I would say there are no extraordinary skills required here. If you know simple programming basics you can pick it right away. If you don’t want to start with smart contracts you can simply start with front-end development it is exactly similar to web2, there are a few libraries you have to get along with and in no time you would be a web3 developer. **Q: What’s next for you?** For now, I’m laser-focused on our product ORB and super excited for the next few months as we are working on so many cool things. And we would be launching them one by one soon, so stay tuned.

This is our first steps doing optimistic API updates, this means when you do a free follow or collect the state will be reflected straight away in the UI experience. No need for hard UI optimistic caching and this inherits on all of the lens apps instantly. The transaction then is processed in the background without the user having to wait. This means for example you follow user Y and then refresh it will still look like your following, you will start seeing them in the timeline and it just be as it is like on web2 social media sites. Optimistic API updates is something we going to be doing for all actions as we start trying to build the best UX we can from the API level.
