- Lens Protocol is open, anyone who has a profile can have permissionless access regardless of what application they are using. We believe in supporting content creators and followers who create an engaging environment for everyone.
Some applications use gasless and signless transactions, and we have now introduced eligibility requirements for these features.
While everyone is eligible by default, accounts with low-signal engagement will not be eligible. You can read more about our requirements here. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/gasless#eligibility-requirements
We are also testing filtering low-signal notifications for a better user experience. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/users-notifications#api-details
At Lens, we believe that Web3 social should create a better experience than before, by using blockchain technology. We are always experimenting with ways to better our user experience by filtering low-signal profiles and bots. Let’s keep experimenting, our DMs are open for feedback 🧪

Today I have made an important decision in my life 📢
I quit my job today and going to focus full-time on maintaining the first-ever open-source frontend @lenster.lens 🌸 powered by @lensprotocol 🌿.
Building social media was my dream since 10th grade, I built more than 4 social media in public but all failed, Lenster is my 5th one and it’s going crazy ⚡️.
I believe building in public is key 🔑 to the success of a product.
We have a lot of items queued up in the roadmap, be excited about it 🕺

- This is super cool, really ncie use of the Big Query public data set as well. I would see this being super helpful for creators but also could be evolved to forecast collect revenue 👀
- @lensprotocol: Creating a Web3 Social Ecosystem with @stani We all know that the current social media landscape isn't ideal. Lens is a new attempt at creating decentralized social media using blockchain as a social graph.
During the interview we discussed the issues with social media today, the implications of creating a social graph on a blockchain that anyone can build on top of, and platform risk.
You can find me on Lens as well and collect this interview as an NFT (very cheap and only 10) on Lenstube.

- The Problem with Web3 Content Experiences.
Today I want to explore some early thoughts I have about content experiences in web3. Looking back at what drove user adoption in web3 it was more than often driven by content innovation.
Myspace was my first website builder. Creating my first designed by me presence on the web was a game changer. Facebook really exploded for me with the dangerous like button. The like button introduced a whole new paradigm to interact with content easily. WhatsApp was a game changer for me and my friends because it really broke the sms paradigm I was locked in, and brought an ongoing chat feed to our conversation, but the one tool we used religiously was sharing our location in our group. A shared location turned into an instant meeting point. Next was snapchat with disappearing messages and then obviously stories. Twitch really pushed me towards co-viewing with others and being part of a collective experience through their chat. TikTok brought us the duet and the For You page. In a nutshell most of their growth may be due to innovation on a new content format or a new content experience.
This is where I struggle with Web3 right now. Play 2 earn games are often worse version of existing games. Social media is a worse clone of twitter. Of course Web3 is early and is still trying to figure it out but user adoption may not come through the same thing we know now with us just owning our data or making a dime on our content.
Don't get me wrong getting paid by someone collecting your post on mirror or lens is magical. But most content we interact we don't want to turn into a financial transaction at any moment.
I had the luck to work in the past on several owning your data projects for web2 companies but the core learning was people sadly do not care enough about it. Or better they only care about it when it breaks for them. But what brings the next-gen in are novel collective experiences.
Right now I see a rise of the producer DAO. DAOs that are collectively investing or creating new content but with a fairly limited scope on creating or focusing on novel content experience.
Fortnite blew up by adding their battle Royale mode. Inspired by PUBG it brought a new way to play either just a short round or hours together in a familiar set up. It also allows for folxs to have various different ways to experience the content itself. I could watch Ninja in his glory days on twitch or YouTube live. I could just jump in on the go for an fun round through my phone. I could go in with my squad and truly rock it from my desktop or I could just roam around on the island without giving really a thought about the core game mechanics. Things even expanded more with the inclusion of events like Concerts or the other islands that started to appear with different modes.
Content experience today is a spectrum. Sometimes we lean back and enjoy and sometimes we lean in and are truly active either as players, consumers, or contributors.
So what should we do. Looking at the Producer DAO landscape I see a bunch of projects building a smart contract package for community governance, rewards distribution, and contribution tracking. Why are we not leaning towards building this software stack together so we could lean in more to actively build community, lore, and content, and most importantly to new ways to experience content.
How might we start to develop and build truly novel content experiences rather focus on each build our own smart contract stack. I strongly believe new ways to experience content will unlock the next generation of web3 believers.
Here are some thought starters:
How might we build novel collective music listening experiences?
How might we interactive content that leans towards collective decision making to drive a story / content forward?
How might we build novel game and reality show with active viewer engagements?
How might we build novel game mechanics to lean away from becoming a virtual land-lord or token grinder?
Web3 true power is unlocked through collective, sometimes collaborative, sometimes, competitive experiences. What if we start to innovate on the experience on content itself too rather just on the content ownership level?
