- For the past two years, I've earned almost nothing. I reduced my spending to around $ 250 per month, abstaining from buying anything except for a necessary laptop replacement that cost around $ 550. I dedicated myself entirely to my work. Throughout this period, there were few moments of genuine enjoyment or fun. I faced judgment and criticism from others, being called crazy and told that I was doing and accomplishing nothing. Yet, I remain unfazed by their thoughts. What fueled my persistence was humility and an unwavering inner flame—a passion for change, for realizing my vision, for pursuing what I love. No matter what obstacles come my way, I will continue forward as long as that flame burns within me
To those experiencing similar challenges, facing judgment, and sacrificing for their passions, I offer this encouragement: keep going, regardless of what others say. This is my genesis composition using generative AI for music. 🤖🎼
I treated the AI component of the track similar to how samples would be used in hip hop or lo-fi beats. Most of the composition is my own, but the kernel of the track is based on the AI output.
Generative audio using AI is an interesting subject. Unlike many AI image generators that allow commercial use of the image, Stable Audio (the model used for this track) requires a license / monthly subscription to use the audio commercially. So this is probably the last time I’ll use this platform… But I’m definitely interested in the possibility of rolling my own model and training it locally with original music.
In the meantime, to honour the non-commercial license (and offer a little Valentine’s Day gift 💞) I’m making this track a free mint! If you like it and decide to collect, please consider leaving a tip (you can also leave a tip if you don’t collect and show your support). 🫶🏻✨

- I’ve been excited about web3 social since 2022. I got introduced to it through Lens as a user playing with apps and posting video content, experimenting with paid collects and other monetisation models. What made a lot of sense to me is that social is something that a much larger population can understand than things like DeFi.
We then launched a grants program at @lens/thesymmetrical with the support of some incredible orgs and people such as 1kx network, MetaCartel, @lens/pet3rpan
Some of the projects we supported with small $ 1-5k checks are @lens/ensocollective , Forum DAOs or @lens/zurfsocial
The grants program helped me understand that the app and middleware layer of web3 social is typically overlooked, with most capital being allocated to the protocols (Lens/Farcaster). When it comes to social, I believe the value will accrue to apps the most and currently, there isn’t enough attention and capital directed towards these builders.
This inspired me and @lens/clujso to launch @lens/socialgraphvc , an investment DAO focused on apps and middleware of web3 social. When starting the raise in July 2023, many people I spoke to dismissed the idea of web3 social, saying it’s just a decentralised Twitter, which isn’t exciting enough. While I agree that web2 social clones are not the way to go, I think they were a good foundation for what’s to come. Since then waves of new experiments have come to life on the infra side that enabled builders to create incredible apps and experiences.
On the infra side: @privy_io enabled seamless onboarding, @farcaster_xyz frames gave us composable mini-apps, @LensProtocol open actions gave us onchain smart contract composability and http://Friend.tech introduced the bonding curve to social.
On the apps side: @unlonely_app has become the top place for live streaming and betting. @cryptothegame_ made squid game onchain, @DrawTheChart gave us the most beautiful PWA for prediction markets. There is many others to name here.
It looks like the stars are aligning for web3 social, and @socialgraphvc is fortunate enough to be early to invest in the first wave of successful social applications. Although many people doubted our thesis in the summer of 2023, we managed to raise over $ 2M, invest in 5 incredible projects and expect q1 to be extremely busy. In case you have woken up to web3 social we are still accepting a few more members
