- Hello Lensters! Super happy to announce the start of the Future of Music podcast on Lens, and the official rebranding from what was previously THE Web3 Music Podcast!
My name is Jake Abel and I've been in web3 since November '21. I started this podcast in September of last year because I wanted to get more involved in the web3 music scene and learn from artists and entrepreneurs firsthand about how they were leveraging blockchain tech to disrupt the music industry and propel their careers and companies forward. I also just wanted to network and meet people and thought that maybe others would be interested in hearing those conversations. Thus, a podcast was born.
I now want to pivot away from just web3 music and expand to learn and talk about the intersection of technology and music more broadly. Things like AI, VR, the metaverse, and more are going to change the way music is created, consumed, and monetized, and I want to hear about all of it.
The first 15 episodes were incredibly fun. I connected with so many cool people and projects that I met through the podcast (@phlote.lens especially, to which I am now an active team member/contributor), and I just want to keep it going. I'm ready to take the podcast to another level, so stay tuned and follow along for more great conversations, improved production quality, video (was previously only audio), IRL conversations, collaborations with Phlote, content NFTs, listener community building, and much more!
Couldn't be more excited for this next chapter. I'll be releasing new episodes and re-releasing old ones each week on Beats and Lenstube. The first new episode will be out this Thursday with Daniel Allan!
This post is free to collect as I'm starting to build an on-chain community of supporters. Huge thank you in advance to everyone who listens, follows, collects, and just supports in general!

- Sun Bathing
With so much talk about seeking shade and wearing SPF — even on cloudy days and in winter — it can be hard to believe that exposure to the sun, in small doses, can be beneficial.
Sunbathing, which is the act of sitting or lying in the sun, sometimes with the intent to tan, may have some health benefits if done properly.
There’s a major difference, to be sure, between going outside for 10 minutes without sunscreen and regularly spending time in a tanning bed.
The risks of too much sun exposure are well-documented. Spending time in the sun without SPF is one cause of melanoma, among other conditions.
However, high doses of vitamin D — when exposed to sunlight, our skin turns cholesterol to vitamin D — have been shown to help prevent certain common ailments and diseases.
- Scuba Diving
Scuba diving is perhaps the best way to explore the fantastic underwater world, getting up close with this marine universe's wonders and secrets, with its breathtakingly colourfu and diverse inhabitants. Floating below the azure waters, you are in an ethereal – sometimes hostile – environment, with a limited supply of air on your back and with only your fellow divers as your lifelines. Over the years and the decades, scuba diving has evolved into a non-competitive but a very exciting adventure sport.

- Range Bound...
- question for those born and raised in the US, do you experience some level of gov corruption/shadiness on a regular basis? if so, are you surprised?
reason I ask is because i was somewhat accustomed to it in portugal and having now experienced some in the US, some of my peers were surprised by it.
I feel like there's perhaps a perception that it doesn't happen as much as other countries.
