- It’s happening again. GameStop shares are up 73% Monday, trading at prices unseen since November 2022. The stock soared off the back of a meme posted by Keith Gill, alias Roaring Kitty, the trader-turned-folk-hero who triggered GameStop’s previous trading mania in the early months of 2021.

- Over 50% of spot trading pairs on Poloniex appear to be ‘dead’
Poloniex’s exchange data seen by [crypto.news](http://crypto.news/) displays what appears to be a partially abandoned platform, with over 500 trading pairs showing no trading volume.
Cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex, acquired by Justin Sun in 2019, demonstrates a concerned lack of activity as the majority of all spot trading pairs listed on it barely have any trades at all.
- Victim Recovers Funds After $ 71M 'Address Poisoning' Attack A victim of an 'address poisoning' attack has recovered almost all of the $ 71 million worth of wrapped Bitcoin tokens (WBTC) that were stolen in the attack. The victim has no complaints against the attacker following the recovery.

- **The best strategies in the crypto**
Smart summary:
This thread provides an analysis of seven portfolio simulations based on CoinMarketCap and Binance data from 2018 to 2021. It compares the performance of portfolios with different strategies, such as investing in the top 100 coins, the top 200 coins, newly listed coins, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a combination of Bitcoin and Ethereum. The analysis concludes that, except for those with a very sharp edge, holding major coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum will outperform other strategies and save time and stress.

"What if I just invest in all the coins of the top 100 and wait?"
"What if i just spot buy $ETH and hold?"
"What if I only choose recent binance listings?"
7 CMC data-driven portfolio simulations + 6 key conclusions to prepare for next bullrun
This content is NOT financial advice and is for educational purpose only.
Data:
🔹What: top 200 CMC + 2018-feb 2019 Binance listings
🔹Time horizon: from 2018 bear to 2021 bull
🔹Analysis: portfolio simulations
🔹Entry date: feb 2019
🔹Exit date: each coin's top
Important elements:
1)Feb 2019 has been chosen for entry, to simulate someone buying during deep bear market (don't forget: always better to split entries, but would have been too complex for our simulation).
2) Exit date is each coin top. Tops are impossible to catch.
So catching 50% of the theoretical gains obtained in these simulations would already be a great result.
🔹Investor 1: Splits $1000 in the top 100
THESIS: "I don't wan't to lose time DYORing, top 100 GOTTA BE safe and I'll certainly catch a few 50Xers"
→ Number of coins: 100
→ Profit: $21,6k (22,6X)
→ Ease of management: almost impossible to track all holdings
🔹Investor 2: Splits $1000 in coins 100 to 200
THESIS: "Top 100 are already mainstream, I'll certainly catch bigger returns in the top 200"
→ Number of coins: 100
→ Profit: $7,7k (8,7X)
→ Ease of management: almost impossible to track all holdings
🔹Investor 3: Splits $1000 in newly listed coins (2018 to feb 2019) in the top 200
THESIS: "I heard newly listed coins are more prone to big multipliers. I stay in top 200 to avoid ultra-risk plays"
→ Number of coins: 35
→ Profit: $16,6k (17,6X)
→ Ease of management: very hard
🔹Investor 4: Splits $1000 in only 2018 to feb 2019 binance listings
THESIS: "CZ is going to pump its most recent bags"
→ Number of coins: 52
→ Profit: $14,2k (15,2X)
→ Ease of management: 52 coins. Almost impossible
🔹Investor 5: Invests $1000 in $BTC
THESIS: "Safest crypto investment ever"
→ Number of coins: 1
→ Profit: $17,7k (18,7X)
→ Ease of management: 1 coin. Very easy
🔹Investor 6: Invests $1000 in $ETH
THESIS: "Still safe and will do better than $BTC"
→ Number of coins: 1
→ Profit: $37,7k (38,7X)
→ Ease of management: 1 coin. Very easy
🔹Investor 7: Invests $1000 in $ETH + $BTC
THESIS: "Let's not put all eggs in the same basket"
→ Number of coins: 2
→ Profit: $27,7k (28,7X)
→ Ease of management: 2 coins. Very easy
Important info to compare:
🔹TOTAL market cap, feb 2019: $115b
🔹TOTAL market cap, nov 21: $3,000b (26X)
So all investors except investor 6 and 7 underperformed the market.
What can we conclude of these simulations ?
1) A lot of projects perform badly and struggle to maintain their CMC through the years. DYOR process is capital
2) An overdiversified portfolio with a lot of positions will most probably underperform the market
3) 100-200 coins performed worse than top 100, because various projects didn't survive (poorer quality)
4) Investing in newly listed coins is not a guarantee of success. These generally perform better, but additional filters have to be applied (through DYOR)
5) $BTC and $ETH still offer outstanding returns, considering their market cap
6) Except if you have a very sharp edge, holding majors ($BTC, $ETH) will beat every other strategy.
Good news: not only, it performs better, but it also saves a lot of time and stress
If you think you don't have enough time/motivation/discipline to build a solid edge, then you should consider simpler strategies ($BTC/ETH) that will outperform 95% of other strategies.

- i will share some blunt feedback since i'm a new user on Lens with fresh eyes and would like to see it succeed:
the sign-in UX via @lenster.lens is totally broken from the perspective of an average user on a social media site, and i can 100% guarantee you that it significantly reduces the number of active users we have on the platform
like many people, my ENS address maps to a hardware wallet. like many of those people, i only break out the hardware to sign value transactions. for simple authentication signatures, i'll do it for infrequent apps, but i am not willing to do it for apps i want to use daily. it also teaches bad user behavior
i had logged into @lenster.lens yesterday, and today i go to my browser and i was logged out. since i see no option to delegate sign in (either via delegate.cash, or even just plan specifying a hot wallet i can sign from without hardware), i had to break out my hardware wallet. i did it today. not sure i'll do it tomorrow
quite frankly, this is an encumbrance your average user will not be willing to suffer (even web3 power users like myself)
so is delegated sign-in on the roadmap? if so, when it is expected? doesn't seem like the hardest feature to implement (unless i'm missing something about interaction with @lensprotocol on the back end), so i hope it can be prioritized @lensprotocol @lenster.lens @stani.lens
