- Google DeepMind's AI Model "Genie" Can Generate Super Mario-Style Platformers
Google DeepMind is developing an AI model called Genie that can create video game levels from text descriptions, sketches, or photos. Genie is capable of generating side-scrolling platformers similar to Super Mario Bros., although currently limited to one frame per second. The model was trained on over 30,000 hours of internet platform game videos, learning to create games based on these videos and even representing specific actions like jumping or moving left.
While still a research project, the developers are optimistic about accelerating the model for potential use as a game development tool. Additionally, Genie is seen as a way to create virtual environments for training artificial intelligence, allowing AI bots to learn new skills in a safe setting before being deployed in real-world situations.

An interactive Web3 Thriller built with the Lens Community

I’m **eager** to share my new ambitious art project involving the Lens community. It's an interactive thriller in the world of web3, a modernized choose-your-own-adventure comic leveraging all the possibilities of Lens and web3 protocols.
**In true web3 fashion,** this is a collaborative story: I will ask the community for every significant event in the plot. From the characters’ names to the decisions they make in the story and much more. **They will also decide on details** for some fun cameos involving people from the industry.
The plan is to publish one new page of the story every week, along with some questions for the community to decide on the story's direction. We'll leverage Lens’s interactive capabilities, such as the collect function, token-gated content, and much more…
It’s also going to be a creative innovation journey: I'll be using AI to generate the raw artistic material before transforming and combining it, and I will involve the community in the process of creating the art, refining the prompts, and combining the images and copy to create the artwork.
