- **EL Camino (2019) - Bezil's Review**
After four seasons of "Better Call Saul", and despite the finale of "Breaking Bad", oh so very good, Vince Gilligan wanted to offer his audience a little bonus. The kind of little supplement, not necessarily necessary, but for which you never say no, especially if it is Maestro Gilligan who is in charge. So, seven years after the end of "Breaking Bad", "El Camino", offers to answer the very good question, what happens to the character of Jesse Pinkman, once released.
Spreading his answer over two hours of films, if "El Camino" does not have the power and quality of "Breaking Bad", however it remains a good film, which ultimately ends the series in a pretty way.
Movie: El Camino (2019)
Genre: Crime / Thriller
Director: Vince Gilligan
Cast: Aaron Paul, Jesse Plemons, Robert Forster, Charles Baker, Matt Jones, Jonathan Banks, Krysten Ritter, and Bryan Cranston
**Synopsis**: El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie follows fugitive Jesse Pinkman as he runs from his captors, the law and his past. **(IMDb)**
**Review**: If you are one of the people that have watched "Breaking Bad", I'm sure answering the question what happens to Jesse, once he escapes from his prison was a question we inevitably asked at the end of "Breaking Bad" and the field of possibilities was open, but from there, to make a film that would answer this question, was not necessarily useful, like that, one could imagine everything. After that, Vince Gilligan wanted to answer this question, since it is so obvious that the fans of the film were so addictive..
The movie "El Camino", in it's own way was a nice pleasure, and so, as we imagine, Vince Gilligan, pulls the sensitive cord and does a lot of fan service. A fan service which is often well placed. "El Camino" is definitely a good and above all pretty conclusion to "Breaking Bad". The film has its faults and more generally it was not necessary, but it exists and it is good, it is a pleasure to follow till the end.

- Seeing this alone is making me more bullish about the future of @lens/kaira platform. I found love 💕 lol
- After Earth
I know there will be controversy because criticism destroyed this films and I know many viewers don’t really like the movie. However, and I'm not ashamed to admit it, I liked this movie. Maybe because of how the relationship between father and son looks like or seeing how a child becomes a man in the face of adversity.
True, the subject is scratchy, but I always like it. I've watched it more than once and enjoy it. Has anyone else experienced the same with After Earth?
- SHORT GRATITUDE 🙏
My submission to @lens/kaira4nigeria contest
Looking back at 2023, there’s so much I’m grateful for. This is the year I embarked on my marriage journey, started a new decade of my life, God brought back quality relationships into my life, and removed fake “friends” and acquaintances.
I’m so grateful I get to have a lovely spouse who stood by me through thick and thin, and with that I will always appreciate her. I might not have everything I want, but I am exactly where God wants me to be, and that comes with everything I need.
Gratitude creates a thankfulness for the past, whilst creating a forward looking hope for the future.
- I’m glad I got to be one of the earliest movie 🎥 reviewers on Kaira. Movie reviews make the mental simulation of the movie lovers run at a high speed.

- Celebrating BONSAI FRENS
This is my very own way of celebrating special friendship, and that's with Jackie Chan & Jet Li. TWO OF BEST LEGEND AND ALSO BEST FRIEND
Some things I love about these actors are:
1\. They take life simple
2\. They're humble
3\. They're ever lively and joyful
4\. They're kind and generous, giving to charity and the needy at all times
5\. They're private (unlike other actors that their family secretes are all over the news & social media)
6\. They're spiritual, knowing that spiritual controls the physical, they don't take their gods lightly.
7.They never forget where are from
8\. They give back to society
9\. There movies are ever modest unlike some other sexified ones of their counterparts
10\. They're leaders!
This is why they're my favourite male actors.

- Nigeria Cultural Heritage: EYO FESTIVAL
Eyo Festival, also known as Adimu Orisa, is a masquerade festival in Lagos. It’s believed by some that the masquerade takes away sickness and poverty, bringing wealth and longevity. There are several versions of the history of Eyo—some claim it originated from Ijebuland (in southwest Nigeria) as a result of the marriage of a King of Lagos to an Ijebu princess, while others say the Eyo deity was sought out by an Oba of Lagos so that his younger sibling could have children.
The Eyo masquerade represents the spirits of ancestors and it was originally seen at events like the burial or coronation of an Oba or high chief. It has since become a major festival and tourist attraction in Lagos. Eyo masquerades can be seen mainly in Lagos Island (Isale Eko) during times of celebration.

- For his first film as director, Tim Robbins strikes hard and is very surprising with "Bob Roberts", a bogus documentary that talks about politics, extreme ideas, corruptions, money and marketing.
**Movie:** Bob Roberts (1992)
**Genre:** Comedy / Satirical
**Director:** Tim Robbins
**Cast:** Tim Robbins, Giancarlo Esposito, Ray Wise, Gore Vidal, John Cusack, Peter Gallagher, Alan Rickman, Susan Sarandon, James Spader, and Fred Ward
**Synopsis:** Millionaire conservative Bob Roberts (Tim Robbins) launches an insurgent campaign against incumbent senator Brickley Paiste (Gore Vidal), firing up crowds at his rallies by singing '60s-style acoustic folk songs with lyrics espousing far-right conservative social and economic views. **(IMDb)**
**Review:** Wacky, committed and above all very intelligent, this film follows the journey of a man who has everything to gain power and the worst is that the whole is credible and today, this story of a man from nothing has become very rich, with extremist ideas, who speak to the average American, promising to take care of them.
Bob Roberts is a very clever script, with the director Tim Robbins who obviously knows exactly what he's doing. Opting for a humorous tone, to see eccentric, "Bob Roberts", is essential like a satire which becomes spicy. A squeaky satire, whose tone is becoming more virulent as this political campaign advances and believe it, this campaign, we have many surprises, especially in its finale, which concludes this nugget wonderfully. Tim Robbins leaves us very cleverly in suspense, and he lets us imagine the continuation, and it is very, very good.

- Shortbus (2006) - Bezil's Review
loved this movie alot, let's just say because it's coming from one of my favorite directors, John Cameron Mitchell. He is an American director from Texas. After having directed some series/Shows, and other musicals, John Cameron Mitchell made an entry into the world of cinema that could not be more noticed. 2001, he landed with "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", which is the adaptation of his musical comedy that he created in 1998. The film was a success and very quickly, it established itself as a cult work. Therefore, John Cameron Mitchell is one of the directors i love watching his directed movies.
**Movie:** Shortbus (2006)
**Director:** John Cameron Mitchell
**Genre:** Erotic comedy-drama
**Cast:** Sook-Yin Lee, Paul Dawson, Lindsay Beamish, PJ DeBoy, Raphael Barker, Peter Stickles, and Jay Brannan
**Synopsis:** A group of New Yorkers caught up in their romantic-sexual milieu converge at an underground salon infamous for its blend of art, music, politics, and carnality. (IMDb)
**Review:** There are films that are unspeakable and "Shortbus" is clearly one of them. "Shortbus", the second featured film by John Cameron Mitchell is a UFO, which will not please everyone as the film can be seen in several ways. Porno-nerd for some, whilst fables about love, and amusing sexual comedy for others. However, to me Shortbus" is a kinda film that I really like, for its colorful, fruity and film-like atmosphere, for the portrait of its characters which for the most part are touching, and also for its actors and their spontaneity or even for the sex which is filmed in an incredible way and which happens to be deeper than it seems, being an extension of the problems and feelings that we find in the characters.
Shortbus is a film with a very interesting scenario. It is a film which is a wacky and dramatic dive, closer to its characters. With this film, John Cameron Mitchell delivers above all, a source of reflection that arises between comedy and drama. Modest, while being explicit, original, deep, meta, real, just despite its heaviness, "shortbus" is a work that really deserves to be rediscovered, even if, I repeat, it remains a work that will not please all, but nevertheless, it's a film that is worth seeing.

- The Impossible - Bezil's Review
This is dedicated to @lens/paulpeverton since he requested for a good movie to watch this coming weekend.
This was good movie I watched a long time ago with my family on StarHD. I must say it completely touched me. I haven't cried that hard during a movie in a long time. SUPER intense and so good. The fact that the movie was based on a true story about the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami really made me so attached to the film because its hard to believe anyone could survive that tragic incident.
**Movie:** The Impossible (2012)
**Genre:** Drama
**Director:** J. A. Bayona
**Cast:** Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor and Tom Holland.
**Synopsis:** A British family on Christmas holiday at a beach resort in Thailand is torn apart when a deadly tsunami devastates the area. The film follows the seriously wounded Maria and her eldest son Lucas as they struggle to safety, not knowing whether Maria's husband and their two younger sons are dead or alive.
I wasn't going to watch it alone, so i just had to see the movie with my families instead! I'm glad we watch it together because we haven't had the chance of seeing a movie together in months. Well, enough of the personal stories, now to the review.
**Review:** This movie left a mark so deep, making it impossible to forget. There are so many scenes in, which keeps one on edge with one's eyes bawling out.
10 minutes! This is the time it takes for the decor to crash quietly, and with simplicity. And then the wave arrives. It is at this moment that we take the full measure of what will unfold before our eyes. No waste of time, the atmosphere becomes immediately palpable. An incredible emotion immediately invades the room, with a hallucinating efficiency. We hardly dare to chew our chips as we are uncomfortable with what is happening on the screen; so much suffering ..And this is just the beginning. As the suspense progresses, the emotion becomes more intense.
We follow this broken family, played by extraordinary actors; Ewan Mc Gregor is bluffing, in a style where we would not necessarily expect and Tom Holland is impressive just in spite of his young age! As for Naomi Watts, she delivers one of the most beautiful performances of her life, a performance that earned her a nomination as best actress in an Oscar role (Oscar, which I recall was won by Jennifer Lawrence, with the movie Silver Linings Playbook)
We are therefore witnessing a tragic and poignant drama with this story that touches us deeply as a spectator, especially since it is inspired by a true story! However, some scenes (but they are rare) are clumsy, seeking too much to move or having some facilities of staging. But beyond the drama, this film raises many questions about survival (for what, for whom to survive ...), the human condition, hope etc. Despite a very predictable outcome (but I repeat it is from a true story), the film is a true tribute to the human will and love that drives us to always resist.

- Broken City - Bezil's Review
The Director of ‘‘From Hell’’ and ‘‘The Book Of Eli’’ , Allen Hughes try out a new genre for this thriller on a political background. With a huge cast (Mark Whalberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones) which made the film to be quite promising. However, after watching the film, i can help but say its just a dud crime thriller from a top notch director.
**Movie:** Broken City (2013)
**Genre:** Crime, Thriller
**Director:** Allan Hughes
**Cast:** Mark Whalberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones
**Synopsis:** In a city rife with injustice, ex-cop Billy Taggart seeks redemption and revenge after being double-crossed and then framed by its most powerful figure: Mayor Nicholas Hostetler. (IMDb Editors)
**Review:** This film begins as an excellent crime on a political background that, at first glance, it surely captivates me. The mystery hovers around a woman, a little like in the beginning of ‘‘Vertigo’’ (attention in any case I do not compare!).
But once the espionage phase passed, the film is gradually deteriorating. The plot is unveiled and the impression of déjà vu is quickly felt! Just about everything that is going to happen is predictable and the film offers no surprises. Needlessly complex in its narration and its intrigue, win over me because i'm not sure am captivated by this fact.
These characters are really cold and distant for the viewer. At no time do they become interesting and finally i do not care about what will happen to the characters at the end, as it was just so dud. And for the realization, it is impeccable, filming a dark New York to perfection. But i always wonder where are the $ 55 million budget as the visual is so sober.
Finally, I find little to say much about the film as it left me cold and indifferent. A film that only lets itself be watched. A cold polar and unsurprising on the verge of boredom despite a huge top notch cast.

- Orange is the new colour!
Can't wait for Kaira upgrade
- Dabbang - Bezil's Review
This film is like that ex who keeps coming back - you know what to expect, but there's comfort in the familiarity. Salman Khan struts back in as the fearless cop Chulbul Pandey. If you're craving for slow-mo action scenes, shirt-ripping fights, and dance numbers that stick to you like that one night you can't forget, then "Dabangg 3" is your guilty pleasure.
It tries to flesh out Chulbul's past, giving us a peek at why he's the Robin Hood in khaki. New faces? Saiee Manjrekar is as fresh as a daisy in spring, though her role is as delicate as a petal in a storm. And Sudeep? He's the bad boy who'll give you chills and thrills, the villain with a gaze sharp enough to cut through your soul.
The plot twirls and whirls like a dancer past midnight, sometimes losing step, but hey, we're not here for a lecture, are we? It's all about the 'masala', and this movie ladles it on. So grab your popcorn, check your logic at the door, and let Chulbul charm you into that love-hate relationship all over again. 😜🍿 Remember, no one does it quite like Salman, and "Dabangg 3" is no exception. It's a rollercoaster that's not fixing to be a space shuttle, and that's just fine for a joyride.
- The nice theme for the movie which says: ‘‘You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies’’, couldn't be more true regarding the story of the birth of Facebook, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg), and If could recall, this is the 8th featured film for director David Fincher who in this movie delved into a successful flourishing social network, Facebook. The social networking giant is known for its typical interface but much less for its legal setbacks and its very creation. It is with the help of Aaron Sorkin's screenplay that the American filmmaker will try to revisit the myth around his design and the personality of Mark Zuckerberg, its creator.
**Movie:** The Social Network (2010)
**Genre:** Biographical Drama
**Director:** David Fincher
**Cast:** Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, and Max Minghella
**Synopsis:** On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. (Imdb)
Review: By doing the exact opposite of what could have made the film monotonous, the director offers a mature copy, much better thought than a simple biography about Zuckerberg who would have made a redundant film without personality. As a result, two brilliant ideas came out of David Fincher's head.
The first was not to praise Facebook for free but to step back and analyze the rise of the company in a neutral and completely objective way. This choice not to impose a predefined point of view on the viewer by leaving free will is clearly appreciated.
The second idea to follow in parallel the two lawsuits directed at Mark Zuckerberg makes it possible to raise from the beginning of the film the tension which becomes panting as the minutes go by. Guided by a staggeringly bluffing staging, these two elements are clearly the necessary ingredients to make this film an extraordinary drama.
Overall, i'm glad i had the pleasure of seeing this movie, as everything about it is mindblowing; from the actors, the acting, the dialogue, the direction, etc. It has drama, humor throughout. And the story is dead-on regarding how Facebook has captured the world. Eisenberg is superb in this role, as it is right up his alley.

- Shoplifters (2018) - Bezil's Review
A Kore-eda film is always the kind of movie you seriously wouldn't want to miss, because he always somehow knows how to deliver a good blockbuster movies to his fans, with such an aesthetic pleasure that is very particular to it and a story that will strike you.
**Movie:** Shoplifters (2018)
**Genre:** Drama
**Director:** Hirokazu Kore-eda
**Cast:** Lily Franky, Sakura Ando, Mayu Matsuoka, Kairi Jō, Miyu Sasaki, and Kirin Kiki
**Synopsis:** On the margins of Tokyo, a dysfunctional band of outsiders is united by fierce loyalty and a penchant for petty theft. When the young son is arrested, secrets are exposed that upend their tenuous, below-the-radar existence. (IMDb)
**Review:** This film opens on a scene where a child and an adult meet in a store. The little boy filling a backpack with food. They each go out without paying, and leave together. When they return home, they meet a little girl of three to four years old, locked up on a balcony when it is late. She is only wearing pyjamas and it is cold. The man gives her food and decides to take her home for a few hours, until her parents return.
With this film Kore-eda returns to the essentials of what makes its typical kind of film unique.
He reuses natural light, which he had somewhat neglected in his previous film. In the same way he returns to the plans he likes. They seem simple at first glance. But they are intelligently composed, they are full of details that immerse us in this story, in this family. Here it is this little house overloaded with inhabitants and also heterogeneous objects, and if you lived in an apartment far too small for you, you would recognize yourself there immediately.
As always, the children in Kore-eda's movies are dazzling with talent. The young Kairi Jyo is not without a doubt reminding me of the young hero of "Nobody Knows " (one of Kore-eda's movie I love till date). Each of his looks brings us an emotion, he drives this film with delicacy and strength. The dose of cuteness is definitely Miyu Sasaki (Yuri Hojo), an overwhelming little doll. She knew how to destabilize me throughout the film. She made me cry not even once but twice. Really loves her acting.
Definitely! This is one movie I bet you're going to enjoy watching, and most likely keeps you indulged throughout with its amazing cinematography, detailing daily prospects of a family of 6.
