- A lovely picture from my trip to Vancouver.
I miss Vancouver very much. It's one of those places that stay with you long after you leave. The way you can walk from the city straight into the mountains is just incredible. I miss my walks around Stanley Park, the university campuses, and even the hour-long grouse grind that pushed me to my physical limits.
Is anyone here on Lens from Vancouver?
- All the source code is now available on GitHub. This was just an experiment, but it'd be fun if any of the Lens people were interested in collaborating on a completely native client, which might enable more people (even with lower-end devices) to enjoy the Lens protocol!

- I started learning native Android development. It turns out that @lensprotocol is absolutely ideal for learning development for various platforms. There are a couple of reasons why. *This is my Lens appreciation post* ✨
**1. Backend is all set up** - Lens API is a GraphQL endpoint, it's easy to generate queries for various languages. There are support generator libraries for Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript (TS), and more.
**2. Real data** - Instead of building an app with mock data, or an app that nobody will ever use (looking at you, the hundreds of todo apps that are being created every day). When you build an app for Lens, you're building with real data! This can absolutely boost your motivation to keep building because you almost get the feeling that someone's already using your app (even if they aren't) as you see new posts coming up.
**3. Real use cases** - This one ties into the point above. When you actually build an app that has a purpose, you'll find that you end up learning very different things than if you're just creating a mock app. In terms of Lens, you e.g. learn how to properly build an infinite scroll list. Something you'd never learn building a mock to-do list app.
Lens has made it a pleasure to experiment with tech. I've been putting it off because there was no valid use case, and, well, now there is.
Here's a video of what I was able to put together in a couple of hours while knowing close to no Kotlin development (some Android, but with this experiment, I was trying a framework I had no prior experience with; Jetpack Compose).

Ink and memories
22/11/2020, Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹
Today I spoke about you. Actually, I remember you very often. You are like a tattoo in my mind, my life, my words, and in my idea of life and death. You are like the fusion of several things that look like something, but in reality are none of them if one looks at the whole.
The day I drew this was your birthday, and you were already very close to leaving this world. Probably, you already knew that... probably, you were trying to shout it out loud so that someone would save you at the last minute... or probably, you were intentionally avoiding all that, so that no one would feel pity for you.
You are nowhere. You are everywhere. Since the year 2020. And since 2021. Today, I almost cried again remembering your eyes, your despair after work and before being hugged. You flew, although you never took off. You went deep into the ground, although you became air.
Hermetic message, cryptographic lines dedicated to a person who will never read it. Evident feelings of the incomprehensible pain of knowing that you no longer breathe.
But tell me dear reader,
... nothing... today, better not to say anything else.
Good night ❤️

Check out my latest issue. A little bit about why I believe building in public is important for a builder and for others alike.
In a nutshell (or if you don't want to read the whole thing), I believe that being able to look over someone's shoulder and being able to see what missteps are they making as well as what succeeded, is very important. It inspires others and teaches you humility.
In @lenstaxyz.lens , we're always trying to push things out early. But we also want to deliver something that people will enjoy using. Stay tuned for more updates as we'll be pushing out new things very soon! In the spirit of building in public, it might not be perfect, but we'll be constantly monitoring and improving as we go.

- Every day is a doge day
- I've seen many beautiful, fluid, mobile-ready crypto apps without necessary disclosures.
I've seen their docs without worst-case scenarios described.
I have not seen plans for recovery preemptively described - despite failures states and recovery are where the protocols are tested.
So if you are looking to improve crypto/web3 UX, consider this angle.

- Some say surfing is the ultimate practice of presence. For me, it’s snowboarding. Serenity doesn’t come from being in the ocean with 100 people for one wave. It comes from being in the mountains and working harder than everyone else to be alone or with your best friends floating on powder crystals. Everything in my life has come from this single activity. If I had never been introduced to snowboarding my life and network would be WILDLY different today.

On Touching Grass - We often forget the deep connection we share with nature, but the truth is, WE ARE NATURE. Like the chaotic yet captivating beauty of the natural world, we too possess a touch of unpredictability and wildness within us; while it's easy to see things in black and white, could it be that suppressing our unpredictability and wildness is the reason why we often yearn for peace and fulfillment?

- I’m super excited to be collaborating with @lenstaxyz.lens for this drop 💛
Sunset has been one of my favorite subjects to photograph. Sometimes, the beams are blinding, filled with passion and intense like flames. Sometimes, it shines gently and gracefully, covering the city with an orange veil. It’s the last moment of warmth that made the imminent darkness less dreadful. And it will always return, just when you need it the most.

- **How does black and white photography make you feel?**
For the longest time, I had a inexplicable fear of shooting in black and white. As someone that is passionate about color grading and portraying emotions through color schemes, I couldn't fathom the idea of stripping those elements away.
One day, when I was reading about the history of photography, I learned that when color photography was first introduced, photographers were resistant to the idea because they believe that colors distract viewers away from the motion and composition of photograph itself. It opened my eyes to an entirely new perspective. The lack of color does not mean the lack of nuance. In fact, it refines the image by accentuating the lighting and texture, and we are presented with a reality under a different filter, one that was not directly seen with our eyes. Perhaps sometimes, less is more.
So, what do you think of black and white photography?
