**My exploration of three potential impacts of co-creation in the world of fashion and beyond
**
When we are thinking about fashion, what often comes to mind are garments,
brands, and accessories. But, when considering the role of consumers in the fashion world, what springs to mind? I'll leave that question for each of you to answer.
What I want to discuss in the following lines is what may appear to many as a
revolution, though to me, it's more of an evolution—one that has already begun in
the realm of fashion and is poised to reshape our answers to the previous question shortly.
This revolution isn't about the marvel of haute couture on runways or the glossy spreads in fashion magazines; rather, it's one concerning the relationship between brands and their consumers. It's an evolution that will transform fashion from merely transactional to relational. Fashion will become a collaborative space, where the
lines between brands and consumers blur, and innovation arises from a shared vision. This silent evolution bears a name that will increasingly echo throughout the industry and beyond: co-creation.
While this topic deserves numerous articles in the following lines, I'll delve into three key aspects of co-creation, leaving other concerns and potential impacts for future pieces:
Among the many areas that co-creation will impact, one of the significant concerns for many is sustainability. We're all aware of how much the fashion industry pollutes our environment, so I won't delve into specific numbers here. Instead, let's focus on the transformative effect co-creation can have on it. When designers and consumers
collaborate, it fosters a narrative of conscious creation and mindful consumption making co-creation tap into the longstanding issue of waste and overproduction in fashion.
By involving consumers in the design process, brands can better understand and respond to their desires, navigating the intricate labyrinth of their preferences. This leads to the creation of products that are not only needed but also genuinely wanted. Therefore, we usher in an era of responsible production and consumption. As
consumers, we begin to appreciate the value of garments and fashion more deeply, becoming more discerning in our choices and less inclined to constantly update our wardrobes. Similarly, brands can optimize the use of materials and resources,
leading to more efficient production processes.
While sustainability undoubtedly stands as a vital aspect influenced by co-creation, what strikes me with even greater profundity is its potential to act as a catalyst for a seismic shift in our perception of garments—a change that naturally intertwines with sustainability. Through the lens of co-creation, garments cease to exist solely as
mere fabric adorned with aesthetically pleasing designs; they arise as powerful conduits of personal expression and cultural heritage, roles that have long been intrinsic but tragically overlooked.
Through co-creation individuals imbue their garments with a soul, infusing them with
meaning and purpose. These pieces transcend their material form to become vessels of personal identity, sparking a profound symbiosis between wearer and worn. This transformative process fosters a relationship with clothing that transcends
mere utility, delving into emotional resonance and existential significance.
Co-creation thus heralds the dawn of a new era, one where garments are not mere commodities but cherished artifacts—symbols of identity and defiance against the tide of conformity. Co-creation will make us reconsider our relationship with fashion, prompting reflection into the depth of our connections and the authenticity of our
expressions in a world yelling for conformity.
And yet, among the myriad transformative impacts of co-creation on the world of
fashion, the one that resonates most profoundly with me is its influence on the relationship between brands and consumers. As you may have already assumed, it
transcends the tangible products themselves and delves into the realm of interpersonal connections.
By looking around us, we cannot overlook the overwhelming abundance of choices
and the flood of information bombarding our minds. This dynamic made the authentic
bond between brands and consumers to become increasingly elusive. We find ourselves amidst a sea of options, amidst a cacophony of novelty, struggling to forge
meaningful connections. In these circumstances, I believe that authenticity is the
only element capable of restoring genuine connection.
Co-creation, in its essence, extends an invitation to consumers—a beckoning gesture that recognizes their voices, insights, and desires as integral pieces of the brand's journey. It signals a paradigm shift wherein people stop being passive
consumers and instead become collaborators, co-creators, and co-authors of the brand's narrative.
Through co-creation, consumers are empowered to discover their “power”,
acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping and enriching the brand's course. This symbiotic relationship fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation on both
sides, laying the groundwork for mutual growth and prosperity. Ultimately, co-creation serves as a testament to the brand's recognition of the intrinsic value inherent within its consumer base—an affirmation that their contributions are not only
acknowledged but revered as critical elements in the brand's identity and evolution.
Going back to authenticity, in my opinion, each presented element plays an essential role in fostering it, ultimately leading to a more genuine connection between a brand and its consumers; the characteristic that we are lacking so much in today’s dynamic.
These are just three aspects among the many that co-creation will influence. As mentioned in the introductory lines, there is plenty of discourse surrounding co-creation, and I will address other aspects in an upcoming piece. Yet, I believe that
these three elements presented today are enough to underscore co-creation’s pivotal role in shaping the future of fashion, and beyond. However, there is one more thing I want to touch upon. Co-creation doesn’t only come with benefits; it has its
challenges as well, and perhaps the biggest one is the quest for harmony.
Image a symphony of 1000 voices clamoring to be heard and understood. How does one orchestrate harmony amidst this cacophony of diverse perspectives? In my view, this challenge is the main and most difficult task for every brand embarking on the journey of co-creation. They must master the art of striking a balance between
innovation and tradition, creativity and commerce while also remaining steadfast in their own vision, and unwavering in their integrity, even amidst the charm of profit. They must harness the power of co-creation without sacrificing their essence. How
would you navigate this twisted path?
If there's one thing I'd like you to recognize after reading this piece, it's that co-creation isn't merely a passing trend; it is, and will always be, a movement—a
revolution—an evolution. It invites us to open our minds and hearts, to embrace the
transformative power of collaboration, the inherent beauty of diversity, and the boundless possibilities of the human spirit. While for many it is not, for me co-creation is a paradigm shift poised to shape a new world.
To grasp the meaning of my last words, I encourage you to explore the essence of
co-creation from multiple perspectives. Don’t narrow it solely to garments or fashion; instead, look at various industries, products, and realms, until you arrive at the very core of humanity itself. Here, you will realize that in the act of co-creation, we
discover not only the power of our imagination but also the beauty of our shared humanity.
Thank you for reading!
Eduard

- Phil Schiller Unsure if App Store is Profitable, Raises Eyebrows in Court
Phil Schiller, Apple's App Store chief and Apple Fellow, recently testified in an Australian court case between Apple and Epic Games. Schiller surprisingly claimed he was unsure whether the App Store is profitable, despite overseeing it for years. He also stated that profitability was not a factor when setting the 30% commission rate for app developers.
These statements, coming from a key figure in Apple's ecosystem, raised questions from the presiding judge. Schiller maintained that Apple does not analyze App Store financials in isolation.
The case in Australia is examining whether Apple misuses its market position to stifle competition in the app market. Schiller's testimony provides rare insight into Apple's App Store operations and strategy, as the company typically avoids discussing such details publicly.

- TikTok Launches 'TikTok Notes' to Rival Instagram
TikTok has introduced a new app called "TikTok Notes" in select markets like Canada and Australia, aiming to directly compete with Instagram. The company describes TikTok Notes as a platform focused on photo and text content, allowing users to share their special moments, creativity, daily experiences, and adventures through photos while connecting with others.
Users can sign in with their existing TikTok account, and the app places a special emphasis on users sharing travel tips and daily recipes.
Visualizations of the app show a two-column grid on the home page displaying posts, with the ability to post multiple photos in a carousel format.
This strategic move comes after Instagram previously attempted to copy TikTok's video experience with Reels.
By launching TikTok Notes, the company aims to challenge Instagram in the photo-sharing space, leveraging its existing user base to gain traction in this new venture.

- Boston Dynamics Unveils Next-Generation Humanoid Robot Atlas 2
Boston Dynamics, a pioneering robotics company, has recently introduced the next generation of their humanoid robot, Atlas 2. This new model is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, boasting enhanced strength, flexibility, and a fully electric design.
The original Atlas robot, which had been in development for over a decade, relied on hydraulic power. In contrast, Atlas 2 features a more elegant, all-electric design that allows for greater versatility in its movements and potential applications.
One of the most striking aspects of Atlas 2 is its human-like form, which has been refined to enable capabilities that surpass human anatomy. The robot's improved agility and strength open up a wide range of possibilities for its use in various industries.
Boston Dynamics has announced that Atlas 2 will undergo testing and further development in a new, fully automated manufacturing facility owned by Hyundai, one of the company's investors. This real-world testing will help refine the robot's capabilities and explore potential commercial applications.
While the advancements in robotics technology demonstrated by Atlas 2 are undeniably impressive, some may find the humanoid robot's appearance and abilities somewhat unsettling, as is often the case with Boston Dynamics' creations.
