Ileke (now called Lekki) was a village on the eastern end of the Lekki Peninsula below refuge island, which was itself named after this village. It was known as Ebute Ileke by the local Yoruba people there.
The natives were originally from Ile Ife and settled down at Ijebu Ode. From Ode they migrated down to Ilara and from Ilara to Epe. Thence, they finally settled at Ileke called Lekki today led by one Lootu son of Labolo, grandson of Oba Alara. Maternally, Lootu was the grandson of Oba Nenuwa/Lenuwa of Ode Omi. Lootu was a great salt panner who engaged in the extraction of edible salt from Brine (Seawater).
Refuge Island in Lagos, known in Yoruba as IDE was a gift given to him (Lootu) by his grandad when he learnt that his daughter had given birth to a male son.
When he grew old and died he was buried in Epe. His eldest daughter Ope had an issue with a man from Imakun Omi by name, one Adejebe. The son of this union Ogundosunmu became the first recognized ruler.
Some other towns and villages on the Lekki peninsula were founded by other personages. Akodo Lekki and Iwerekun right on the beach head coastline were founded by Oyemade Ogidigan father of Oniwonlu.
Eputu Lekki on the other hand was founded by Ogunfayo. Magbon Ilado and Eputu were founded by Onafula and Ogundeko from Orugbo, while Orimedu was founded by an Ife hunter by name: Ladejobi who first settled at Okegun Lekki before the crossing the Lagoon. Magbon Oga was founded by two brothers; Oga and Semade. Ibeju on the other hand was founded by Agbeduwa Abeju who settled at Ipebi and Ibomido (where I settled)
Most people here are ancestrally Ijebu Yoruba, and from what we know- The history of Lekki and Epe are very closely linked/Interwoven, Aare Almaroof Olupitan ninu iwe itan.

- **WHAT LED TO THE OWU WÀR OF 1820 - 1827**
The Owu war was fought between Ife and the Owu kingdom.According to sources, it was linked tothe relationship between Oyo
and Ife. It was said according to soucres that at a point, Oyo ruler could not get enough slàves from the NON-YORUBA group. These were Igala, Nupe, etc in Oyo then, though some are still there. Then, they started capturing slaves from among Ife. This act broke a long standing tradition and aroused the hostility of Ife against the Alaafin. The Oyo king Had Wanted to control the Market Town of Apomu Which had been under Ife control. The Olowu, ruler of Owu seized control of Apomu on the excuse that he had been directed by the Alaafin. Then Ife reacted by declaring war on Owu.
After seven years of fighting, Owu was said to have been destroyed.
One point to pick from here is that many people sold into slàvery from Oyo are other tribes not Yoruba. You can verify it.
- An x-ray was taken of Tutankhamun's golden mask The Golden Mask of King Tutankhamun as it appears in the x-ray until recently archaeologists believed that the mask was made from one piece but it was quite a surprise when the mask was subjected to an x-ray examination.
The surprise was that the mask contains more than one part that was welded with very precise welding that is not visible to the naked eye. At that time everyone was astonished by what the ancient Egyptian civilization had reached in terms of knowledge and progress in the field of alloys and the gold industry.
- **A rare portrait of madam Hannah Afálà (Samuel Àjàyí Crowther's mother)**
Aláàfin Abiodun Adegorolu succeeded Aláàfin Ajabo, a powerful monarch of his time. Aláàfin Abiọdun gave birth to a girl child named Oṣù, Oṣù grew up to become the mother of Olámínigbìn, who in turn became the husband of Omo-oga-egun, together they gave birth to Ibisomi Telerinmasa.
Telerinmasa was said to be possessed with a special dignity which was known among her people as "Afala" (the one who loves purity or the pure one) signifying the princess or priestess of the great god Obatala (the white cloth god). Ọbàtálá's province is believed to be a sphere of absolute and dazzling purity.
Afala married a man whose name was also given as Ajayi from the Edu clan, his grandfather was the Baale of Awaiye-petu, who relocated to the Òyó empire from Ketou (now part of Benin Republic).
Afala parted with her lovely son, when he was just 12 after their town, Oshogun, near Isheyin, was invaded by Fulani slave traders in about 1821. As a passionate mother, she waited patiently for the day she will surely meet her son again.
They finally reunited during Àjàyí's missionary sojourn in Abẹ́òkúta after slavery had separated them for decades.
Madam Afala was later baptized by her own son and was given the name Hannah on February 5, 1848 at Abeokuta. Madam Hannah and some other relatives moved in with the Bishop at Abeokuta where she lived to be over a hundred years old.

- **Remembering Thomas Sankara**
Thomas Sankara Was So Popular Among His People That Even In Dèath, His People Still Loved And Adored Him,A Note Was Left At His Graveside Which Reads 'Do Not Worry,Mama Sankara,We Will Avenge The Death of Your Son,We Are All Sankara's.
Sankara Lived a Brief But Eventful Life, Born in December 1949 and dièd at the age of 38 in October 1987,Sankara was President of Burkina Faso From 1983-1987,When He Assumed Power, The Country Was Named Upper Volta But Changed The Name Of The Country To Burkina Faso Which Means A Land Of Upright People, Thomas Sankara Was An Upright Man By All Standards, He Believed So Much In Equality As Be he Was A Strong Feminist Who Would Always Stand To Defend The Women Folk
Thomas Sankara 's Dèath Is One That Is Filled With Lessons for Humanity, Sankara Was Not Quite Pleased With Happenings In The Country At The Time, Too Many Things Were Going Wrong, So He Invited 13 Others At The National Headquarters So To Discuss The Way Forward But It Went Out That Will Be The Last Meeting
The meeting began at 4:15 p.m. at the National Headquarters, They Had Hardly Begun The Meeting When Gunshots Were Heard Outside at 4:30 p.m. Exactly, Two Personal Bodyguards of Thomas Sankara and the Personal Driver of Sankara Were The First To Taste Dèath That Day, The Shooting Continued and Everyone In The Meeting Had No Choice But To Take Cover.
Sankara Immediately Thought Of A Way He Could Save The The Life Of Everybody In That Room As at This Time,His Aide Was Still By His Side,He Famously Said
"Step Aside,It is Me They Want," With both hands raised and without any weapons on him, he went out to meet those whose sole purpose was to ass\@ssinate him, immediately he stepped his foot outside, it looks like the sight of Thomas Sankara Angered The Killers Even More As They Riddle His Body With H0t Bullets, The Actual Numbers of Bullets Which Penetrated His Body Was Not Known But He Was Shot Beyond Recognition..
If What He Did Was To Save Those Within The Room, If He Believed That After The Kill£rs Must Have Murd£red Him, They Will Leave, He Was Wrong, The Kill£rs Went To The Room Where The Meeting Was Held And They Sprinkled B.ullets As If They Play In A Movie, Everyone Lost Their Life That Day Except For A Certain Alouna Traore, His longtime friend and colleague Blaise Compaore would assume his position on after Sankara's assassination.
It was a clear case of Betràyal On The Part Of Compaore Because He Ass\@ssinated Sankara, He Denied His Involvement In The Killings As He Said That He Was At Home At Time and He Was Very Sick, But All Evidence To The Fact That He Gave The Orders For Those Trigger Happy Men To Kìll Sankara, As If That Was Not Enough, He Assumed Sankara 's Position After His Dèath, He had been in the plan all the way, he knew about it, the leaders of Africa and Grèed are indeed inseparable.
What's Even More Baffling Was That When Sankara and Compaore Met For The First Time In Morocco, They Immediately Struck a Bond of Friendship, They Seems Inseparable, Hence When Sankara Assumed the Position of President, He Made Compaore His Deputy But It Was A Fatal Decision That Would Cut Not Just His Political Life But His True Existence.
Rest in power The Upright Man 🇧🇫 🇧🇫 🕯 🕊
- **History right here**
There was a time, lantern was the Queen of the night. My mother will always tell me to clean the globe well so the lantern can shine brightly at night.
Sometimes while cleaning it, the globe will slip out of my hands and "Crash!" break. I can't count how many times it got broken and we had to replace it.
I actually became afraid when ever I was told to clean it because my dad would scold me if it gets broken.
Once in a while, it overflows when you put too much kerosene in it. This childhood memories are really refreshing as I can remember them vividly.
The fear of breaking the globe of the lantern was the beginning of wisdom!
Now, we have lots of alternatives like torch, rechargeable bulbs, torches and lots more!
If you re among those who made use of lantern, gather and let's gist here!

- HOW NUPE INVADED OYO IN THE 15TH CENTURY
In 1457, Tsoede, the king of Nupe, invaded Oyo and sacked the capital where Onigbogi, the Alaafin (king), fled to the land of the Ibariba and died there.
The Oyo Empire had no Yoruba king for óver 70 years other than Tsoede descedants until Ofinran became Alaafin in 1542. After taking over, many Nupe and Igala were captured and sóld into slàvery, while some escaped to other locations. But Tsoede was an Igala Prince from Idah who became the first king of the United Nupe Kingdom. He mostly used the Igala warriors given to hîm to by Attah from Idah as he later made each of the 12 Chief.
Tapa people of Ibarapa North Oyo state are Nupe and Igala descedants of those warriors though identified as Yoruba today. They are the foundation of Yemoja deity in SouthWest.
- Shallipopi Made 100 million Naira from Streaming Platforms , 50 million went to Dapper music .
The remaining 50 million he had to use 15 million to pay for the services of the producers and 5 million to pay for videos . He ended up with 30 million as his own . He still paid 100 police officers to guide him for 5 million . Ended up with 25 million
Portable made 60 million from Streaming , gave nothing to anybody but 3 million to his producer and 3 million to his video director . He was left with 54 million
If we tell people that Portable is Richer than Shallipopi they’ll deny .
Portable is an independent artiste . Everything he gets goes into his account . Shallipopi is extremely popular but who made him? Dapper music . They get 50% of everything he makes . Same time Shallipopi lives a more expensive life than Portable
You see Portable ? Put some respect ✊ on his name . He does everything by himself. His video directors are not even big names same with his producers . That’s a real business man . He does all to reduce cost and maximize profits .

- **First Female Alaafin of Oyo**
Orompoto was the first female Alaafin in the history of yoruba. She became the Alaafin (between the year 1554 - 1562) after the early death of his brother, Prince Eguguoju, who was next in line to the throne. Her younger brothers, Prince Ajiboyede and Prince Tella couldn't take the throne because they were very young.
It is said that Orompoto proved herself worthy to be an Alaafin after she was asked by the chiefs and elders to prove her masculinity. She pulled her trousers and the elders saw she had not only a scrotum, but also a p\*nis.
She was crowned and became the first female Alaafin.
She was fierce in battle and skilful on horseback. She sacked the Nupe warriors from the yoruba land.
She fought many wars and proved herself in battle.
She died in battle, becoming one of the few Alaafins to die in battle.
- **KAIRA|STORY OF MY LIFE**
Here's a short story of my life on my crypto journey, The journey have pretty much being lesson filled on every basis you have to learn a new thing, being actively participatory has made me get acquinted with the necessary prerequisite, it has being fun though there are bad days in it.
I could still remember vividly back then when i first purchase my token on BSC chain, and that was Fruit token for $ 75, only for me to wake up to seeing the token i bought on the very low(Rugged). Then i followed it up scavenging for a token that could atleast make me recover the amount i have lost but still was very unlucky in my attempts, so i had to give up completely for some period and focus fully on social network(Steem back then was the hottest)
So till now its been a cool ride even on trading.
So here i am now Kaira platform doing amazingly well. It thought me how/When to take risk in other to achieve a great success in the crypto space.
There are times when i wish i never did it, but there come days with which you smile and say thank you to God for the privilege to be part of a working system. A short story on my successful trade was when i had the opportunity to purchase a meme token that pumped overnight 😊 and also the day i got an invite on Lens protocol to start my Web3 ride on Kaira Network.
HOW FAR I AM WILLING TO GO/MY FUTURE ON KAIRA PLATFORM
There is Pretty much to crypto than what I am currently on I am very much on the belief that everything will fall in place for now I just have to keep learning, evolving so i can be able to stand test of time, this is very much my learning process I believe time is coming for me where all this knowledge gained will be put into full testing and practices.
More so, with that i could be able to post my achievements on my successful and Failed trade here on Kaira platform, because i believe my social feature is here on Lens protocol with Kaira platform as the source to promote my stuffs.
I am a person with no limitations, I strive on a daily to achieve what I want, I very much want to be a crypto trader on larger amounts than I do now, I have plans of doing it full time more Like a permanent something.
Crypto is very much growing on a larger scales. In time to come most transactions done will very much be based on crypto currencies, it is happening eve now, so I will like when that time comes I wouldn't be left out.
For crypto, I am very much willing to go extra miles, currently, I multitas my self than before so I can meet up with the work and other activities here on Kaira platform. It is better I invest my time in what pays me than other irrelevant activities. Crypto all the way.
Also, a very special thanks to the Kaira team for bringing out the best in me, looking forward to having a great one with you guys.

- **Oyo Had an Empire not benin**
Did you know why the Europeans kicked out the so called benin empire? Because there wasn’t enough archeological evidence to back up the benin claims of having an empire all the places benin said they conquered was actually conquered by oyo empire
Benin said they fought and conquered the following
Kingdom of Dahomey, Togo, lower part of Ghana and west of Nigeria includes Lagos osun and ondo. All are false.
The archeologists didn’t find an evidence for such because it never happened but there are evidence of oyo empire not just towns was named in Yoruba language but people also spoke Yoruba languages and answered Yoruba names.
Oyo fought the kingdom of Dahomey (Benin republic of today) and captured half of the kingdom and conquered borders of Togo and also fought with Ashanti empire and the areas they fought in was settled by Yoruba who can still be found in that town in Ghana. Lagos was never under benin it was under oyo empire many towns in the places benin claims to conquer was under oyo and they spoke Yoruba the truth is benin never conquered nor had an empire
Even in Warri kingdom the British journals said urhobo’s had traditions and names which they borrowed from the jekri’s it’s expected as they were under their rule.
Why wasn’t it same for the so called “benin empire”?

- Why are you using Kaira and the best part of it....Kaira New Event
Honestly, The question why I'm using Kaira isn't what an answer for me 😁 because i only knew of Lens protocol because of Kaira Network and ever since i have been using it non stop.
So i chose Kaira because because it was an eye opener for me to the world Lens Protocol world.
My thoughts about the Kaira team and project features:
When I first discovered via an organised contest held by @kaira4nigeria, had to make little research to know what i participated for, and after finding out that the Platforms revolves around social content, i was so eager and praying i get opportuned to own a lens handle and start my journey on Kaira Network.
Luckily for me i got in, and since then the team keeps building and never looking back and also Kaira Network gives people the incentive to be creative with what they post, while at the same time possibly earning a living off of their content.
Best part about Kaira:
One key thing I love about this platform is earning Kaira token while you also enable your post for collection of other tokens. Isn't that amazing?
Thoughts about the project, team and vision:
Kaira Network is very unique, and has more potential I think that any other platform on lens protocol to date. I can see this platform growing 10 times bigger than it is and adopting more features, and ways methods for people to connect, as well as other ways for people to earn from their content.
It's just too different, too special. I'm here to stay and plan on observing the growth from now and forever. I really want to see where this platform will be in 10 years.
- Food for thought:
Hindus have been waiting for Kali for 3,700 years.
Buddhists have been waiting for Maitreya for 2,600 years.
The Jews have been waiting for the Messiah for 2500 years.
Christians have been waiting for Jesus for 2000 years.
Sunnah waits for Prophet Issa for 1400 years.
Muslims have been waiting for a messiah from the line of Muhammad for 1300 years.
Shiites have been waiting for Imam Mahdi for 1080 years.
Druze have been waiting for Hamza ibn Ali for 1000 years.
Most religions adopt the idea of a “savior” and state that the world will remain filled with evil until this savior comes and fills it with goodness and righteousness.
Maybe our problem on this planet is that people expect someone else to come solve their problems instead of doing it themselves.
- Oyo empire the great! The collective beauty of the Yoruba race
In the 14th century, the Oyo Palace Compound was established, and Oranyan, the first oba (king) of Oyo, was succeeded by Oba Ajaka, the Alaafin of Oyo. However, Ajaka was deposed due to his lack of Yoruba military virtue and his tolerance for too much independence among his sub-chiefs. Leadership was then transferred to Ajaka’s brother, Sango, who would later be deified as the deity of thunder and lightning. After Sango’s death, Ajaka was restored to the throne, and he returned as a more warlike and oppressive ruler. His successor, Kori, managed to conquer the rest of what historians would later refer to as metropolitan Oyo.
The heart of metropolitan Oyo was its capital, Oyo-Ile (also known as Katunga or Old Oyo or Oyo-oro). The city featured two essential structures: the ‘afin,’ which was the palace of the Oba, and the Oba’s market, known as ‘Oja-oba.’ The palace was situated at the center of the city, close to the Oba’s market, Oja-oba. The city was surrounded by a tall earthen wall with 17 gates, emphasizing the importance of the king in Oyo.
At one point, Oyo experienced a period of decline due to the Nupe occupation. Oyo had become a formidable inland power by the end of the 14th century, expanding at the expense of its neighboring states. However, during the reign of Onigbogi, Oyo suffered military defeats at the hands of the Nupe, led by Tsoede. Around 1535, the Nupe occupied Oyo, forcing its ruling dynasty to seek refuge in the kingdom of Borge. The Nupe’s occupation of the capital led to Oyo’s decline as a regional power until the early 17th century.
The Oyo Empire employed both local and tributary forces to expand its territory. The structure of the Oyo military underwent several changes to accommodate its growing empire. It included the Eso, a semi-standing army of specialist cavalry soldiers, consisting of 70 junior war chiefs appointed for their military skills. The Eso were led by the Aare-Ona-Kakanfo, who served as the supreme military commander. During Oyo’s imperial period, the Aare-Ona-Kakanfo personally led the army in the field during campaigns.
Within metropolitan Oyo, the Bashorun, a leading member of the Oyo Mesi, commanded forces. Metropolitan Oyo was divided into six provinces, each divided evenly by a river, and provincial forces were grouped into two armies, under the Onikoyi and the Okere for the east and west sides of the river, respectively. Lesser war chiefs were known as Balogun.
Tributary leaders and provincial governors were responsible for collecting tribute and contributing troops to the imperial army during emergencies. These forces were occasionally used in Oyo’s distant campaigns along the coast or against other states.
Commerce played a vital role in Oyo’s prosperity. It became the southern emporium of the Trans-Saharan trade, exchanging goods such as salt, leather, horses, kola nuts, ivory, cloth, and slaves. The Yoruba people of metropolitan Oyo were highly skilled in craft making and ironwork. In addition to trade taxes, Oyo derived wealth from taxes imposed on its tributaries. For instance, taxes on the kingdom of Dahomey alone brought in an estimated annual amount of 638 thousand dollars.
